Brilliant performance! I would be surprised to know if J.S. Bach ever heard this lovely work ever performed as well as this, and by whom, where, and when.
what always makes really into people's playing on any instruments is the way the player inflects the notes. The interpretation and play through of that tiny rhythmic breath at 2:24 is just this subtle little thing, but for me it's such a huge things and beautiful way to phrase that. Geeeenniiiooouuusss hahah ::)
Amazing artistry - What's incredible is the mastery of virtually every genre and era - Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern, solo, orchestra, chamber music....a once in a lifetime gift.
Trifonov is already a great pianist - he deserves to be included in the ranks of the very geatest such as Argerich and Pollini of the present and Gould and Rubenstein or Horowitz of the past. The Rachmaninov Bach transcription is fascinating. How he fills in the implied harmonies of the original violin version reveals the identity of the transcriber. There aren't any that are truly anachronistic, but a few of his choices reveal at least his romantic sensibility.
Merveilleux d'avoir l'impression d'être assis juste à côté de l'immense Daniil Trifonov ! This guy is dement and a genius. Merci Thank you 1000 times ! Incredible play.
Trifonov is the best. I saw him once and would travel would to see him. I’m learning this wonderful piece and if I played it one tenth as well I would be happy.
He played with such restraint but with this tension like he wanted to bust out of it which in turn added a sense of great excitement. Not any easy thing to do. It's a great lesson for those of you studying music.
"a lesson for those of you studying music"? Sorry, dear friends and earnest students. Not one of you in 100,000 will ever approach this level of innate musicality, ease, and joy. Trifonov must not be your model, or even an idol you hope to emulate. Listen carefully, yes, but use what you hear to strive to make your playing better. What you achieve will be a gift for the many who hear you, but not the world.
@@ojohnoho Isn't "it's a great lesson for those of you studying music" synonymous with "Listen carefully, yes, but use what you hear to strive to make your playing better." Your statement contradicts itself. Also, I didn't say anything about the world.
I used to play this, but obviously not nearly as clearly as Daniil. I noted that he does not keep his hands in the same positions when he goes inward toward the black keys. This helps keep the smoothness and tempo. When he crosses his hands, he makes room for each pass just prior to reaching over. It may seem obvious that he should, but remember he has to try to keep the tempo. His pedal points are "saved" until the last page. Even then, he does not "exceed" the volume, but just wants us to be aware that the piece is just about finished. Daniil does not over-stress the Rachmaninoff sonorities or "add Ons" that Rachmaninoff put in. He wants you and I to KNOW that this is Bach and not necessarily Rachmaninoff. Lovely. I could never do this as well, and I used too much pedal to fudge the transitions and some awkward repetition of notes. Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)
@@herrickinman9303 Thank you for the reminder. I’m sure you are happy to know that I am suitably embarrassed and humiliated. I should obviously shrink into a corner and cry. I hope this incident improves your day. It improved mine. Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)
Couldn't agree more. Everything he does is BLOODY MARVELOUS. I'm so thrilled to be here for this.
What an astonishing player
Obsessively from the heart. One could play it differently, but could not play it better. Absolutely magnificent!
I agree
You can hear every note. So clear! Perfection!
How do you know it when you did not hear a note?
😋
@@RA-el6zj huh?
@@pharmd07 You said you can hear every note.
So I asked, how would you know it if there was a note that you did not hear?
I just closed my eyes and listened ten times to enjoy this fantastic music in such high level- thanks a lot. It’s truly good ☀️ Deepest Respect

Hats off! He nailed it! Brilliant! Haven't seen or heard such independence of voicing since Glenn Gould ...
I love it.

A master already at his age. Truly amazing.
Too fabulous!! His sound sparkles, chords glisten and just enough pedal.🙏🏽✨✨✨
This is an amazing person
A wonderful rendition, full of color and joy. Thank your for your kind upload.

The absolute Gold standard of playing,,,perfection,,,
so cheerful and joyful! (my preferred version of Bach's music). Thank you very much Trifonov!
Beautiful playing but I just want to scream BRO WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO YOUR BACK AND NECK THEY WILL NOT THANK YOU LATER
There's something magical about this piece
This is four minutes of pure magic. Wonderful tone and character with such joy.
I think it's just ... PERFECT
Amazing pianist! 🎵🎹🎼🎶
Trifonov, Lipatti and may be Gould are in their own league of mastery.
Love this guy. Haven't felt this enthused about the playing of Bach since Pogorelich.
Yes!
What about Gould?
CONSISTENTLY is he joyous...TOTALLY INVOLVED and inside the music and highly interpretive while being unique in his vision.

Thank you for uploading this! Beautifully played. Rachmaninoff added a wonderful touch to this magnificient Baroque piece.
A genius was born
Mais que dire? (What can be said) Merci maître !! (Thank you maestro. )

what a genius and what a concentration. Bach would be happy to listen.
This Bach piece has a perfect seamless flow.

I love Daniil's touché!
This guy is simply amazing.
gracias daniil, gracias bach
Beautiful!!!! Chill bumps every time
Love it. and would like to see him to more transcriptions, particularly of Bach.
it's not his own transcription, Rachmaninoff did that (which is why it's one of the best Bach arrangements ever)
Ah well, Liszt wasn't bad either for Bach piano transcriptions ;)
Beautiful playing.
How marvellous the ending part is.. Thank you Daniil.
Bravissimo Daniil !
...and he communicates his love for music to his audience. He is amazing!
MAMMA MIA!
Quite amazing & totally unexpected

"young" legendary pianist!
I just luv that guy.
Kissin and now Trifonov. Russia delivers the two greatest pianists of their generation.
Agreed , but what about Sokolov,s brilliance ?
Sokolov is in the league of his own.
I wouldn't really place Trifonov and Sokolov in the same generation. Both are awesome, though
You can hear so many different colors

i told it various....you have "him"...Bach ....in your venes.....you are such a talent....
This pianist 's perfect technique is astounding.

fantastic!
Note this is Rachmaninoff's adaptation of the Bach. And Rach knew Bach, Rach felt Bach, Rach took Bach next level.
Bravo!
yeah great master of classical piano....much more honest than lang lang and so on...
"so on.." - who's that?!
