    • @AlongForItAll
      @AlongForItAll  10 месяцев назад

      We usually do sample boards on pre-primed MDF but you can really apply it on any smooth surface assuming it’s prepped correctly

    What color did you tint it or is that the untinted?

    • @AlongForItAll
      @AlongForItAll  6 месяцев назад

      This was pre-tinted sample pIaster received to try out. You can order this plaster untinted. I believe it will end up being a slightly warm milky color but I've never tried it. If you are wanting a crisp white color, often times they will add a bit of blue. They can color match to pretty much any paint color chip.

      You can but most people will use a wax over a high gloss finish to retain the max amount of shine. You can check that product out here. bit.ly/cera-wax-clear

    We want to add a super glossy layer on top of our diy white kitchen cabinets, which are not so smooth atm. Do you think a layer of venetian plaster and wax would do the trick?

    • @AlongForItAll
      @AlongForItAll  2 года назад

      I’m not entirely sure, since every project is different. For Venetian plaster, you’ll want at least two layers to get the classic Venetian plaster look. I’d recommend doing a sample test to make sure you are happy before going directly to your cabinets.

    • @AlongForItAll

      Yes, Grasselo is made to be shiny. It's a super fine plaster with high marble content so it's going to be super glossy finish.

    Why the price is different for plaster on amazon and firenzecolor?

    • @AlongForItAll
      @AlongForItAll  3 года назад

      I can't tell you exactly why there is a price difference since I don't know. My guess would be shipping and the cost of selling through different channels. If you are looking to get your plaster pre-tinted, you will want to order from Firenzecolor as there is no way to do that on amazon.

    What is making it shiny?

    • @AlongForItAll
      @AlongForItAll  2 года назад

      It gets shiney for multiple reasons. 1. The plaster has marble dust in it which adds to its shine. 2. The plaster is super fine so it creates a super smooth surface which makes it shiney. 3. When you burnish the plaster, you are compressing the plaster into itself making the surface even more smooth and with less rough areas which makes it shiney. Hope this info helps!

    • @AlongForItAll

    Would you recommend this for a faux concrete wall?

    • @AlongForItAll
      @AlongForItAll  3 года назад

      Hi Alex,
      I wouldn't recommend Grassello Fino to mimic a concrete look because it's super smooth and shiny which doesn't really match concrete. Some products I would recommend are:
      1. Marmorino KS - bit.ly/marmorino-ks - This is a great matte/satin Venetian plaster that when tinted gray can look like concrete. It allows you to make a concrete look with a bit of a higher degree of beauty in my option. We used this in our bathroom.
      2. Archi+Concrete - bit.ly/Archi-Concrete - This is a micro-cement product, so this will obviously give you a good concrete look.
      3. Animamundi Silver - bit.ly/animamundi-silver-gold - This is a metallic plaster that has a very subtle metallic sheen and mimics a washed out concrete look. It's pretty easy to apply and looks great.
      Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Price per. Sq. Ft. ?

    • @AlongForItAll
      @AlongForItAll  2 года назад

      The price depends on the amount you get. The larger bucket you order, the cheaper per Sq ft. If you get a 20kg untitned bucket of Grassello Fino, you're looking at $1.18ish per square foot for a three coat process at the current prices. If you are interested in purchasing, you can use our code - AFIA10 - for 10% off which will drop that cost per sq ft. bit.ly/grassello-fino

    • @AlongForItAll

      @@AlongForItAll Hey but if you ever wanna get more creative you'll need to tint stuff yourself. I recently ordered a 5 gallon un-tinted grassello from firmolux. I think firenzecolor is overpriced. Mixol is the universal tint I use. Their tints with red caps are lime compatible and will stay longer on the material then just your regular tint. Since I'm in the states as well (WA) I been looking for sources to find material. Thanks for the help 🤙🏾

    • @AlongForItAll
      @AlongForItAll  3 года назад

      That makes sense. I'd love to learn tinting but right now, it's not something I'm currently working on. I've been enjoying the Novacolor products even if it's slightly more expensive. I'll have to give firmolux a try at some point and see what I think.
