Now imagine that you have an F-15 that you can't see until its already fired on you from way too close, likely it's coming at you from behind or from the side, coz he saw you so early that he had the ability to choose his angle to engage you from.

  • @SergioMollari
    @SergioMollari 7 месяцев назад

    When you're only ever going to have under 180 total airframes available, no commander is going to want to use them that often. Upgrade them all you want, but you're still going to have to deal with a limited supply. And real war is nothing like war games. Your opponent isn't going to give a hoot what your rules of engagement are. And things tend to break during combat, even when there's no one shooting at you.

The reason they'll be expensive more than anything is probably the stealth drone AI pilots that will be flying with them. They got the f-35 down from the price of the F22 so we'll see.

    its an open secret that the actual top speed of the blackbird is conspicously higher than what they told the public for one, and for two, in full burner the raptor can outpace the public speed, for sure. for about twenty seconds before it goes from full fuel to bingo fuel. it is not an apt comparison whatsoever and i wish people would stop making it.

    Yes, the F-22 is a remarkable, amazing aircraft, but to make the claims that it's faster than the SR-71 is a very bold statement to try and make.

The plane can only shoot threw a None Movable FIXED SIGHT, mounted on the front of the plane. With the new HELMET, F22 can shoot in any direction the Helmet- Pilot is facing.

    Made to have dominance over the Soviet Union?? You are just making up a story.
    The Raptor was alongside the other hyper expensive weapons systems, made from a decided doctrine. In the time to come, after the fall of the Soviet Union, the US weapons systems was to be so far advanced in tech, that they could take on any attackers en masse. This was to be able to take on conflict, with the +1 billion population countries, if they became an enemy.
    The Raptor was supposed to be able to take on 20 enemy aircrafts, and win. This came from assumptions: That all other nations, would be stuck in gen 4 weapon tech. In other words, noone else would field anything better than an f-16.
    Reality turned out to be different, Chinas tech advance was a complete surprise, and they can field rival planes that the f-22 can't just dominate. Other nations, including Russia, has been able to follow suite. Especially missile systems, and infrared radars, have evolved to keep other systems in the game.
    Another problem arose, whether it be a B2 bomber, a F22 raptor, or a Zugwalt Destroyer. There is no conveyor belt spitting these things out, in a war of attrition, if one of these weapons is lost, US has one less of them. Examplified by B2 bomber, when one is lost, US has one less, a new one will not be made. Same with basically all these new hitech weapon systems.
    So a huge problem, the rival tech is much closer than anticipated, these systems are too expensive to afford to loose.
    In came F35. The idea here being, one system that can do it all. In this way, you can field great numbers of them +1000, and if one is lost, it can be replaced by a program that is still up and running.
    It was not a great solution, the F-35 falls behind on so many parameters, that it is a plane that will have to shoot and get out, in a sniper vs sniper like scenario. And in any large scale confrontation, with +10 planes on either side, the enemy must be assumed to get close enough for infrared or radar, and then the F-35 becomes a sitting duck, in confrontation with an air superiority fighter.

    Every American taxpayer should confront their congressman and senator and be enraged over this colossal waste of money. 16 Billion was spent and we are still behind the Russians in tech. That money did not go into R&D in a sufficient amount to close the technology gap. The money simple disparaged into their pockets.
    The radar needs upgrading so it can see stealth, We need to go to the Australians to get the tech that allows the radar to see over the horizon to be level with the Russians in that area. We need a cost effective method to deal with Russian drones. We need better missiles and a big list of upgrades.

      The SU-57 is a paper tiger and the J-20 is just a downgraded copy of the F-22. Their only advantage is their built-in IRIS.
      The F-22, meanwhile, has a sensor suite and radar on par with the F-35. Also, they are also joined in by AWACS, F-35s, and jamming aircraft in air operations. Not to mention, the whole plane is still classified.
