This feels like the VotV equivalent of a Terraria event theme to me, like it would play during a full-scale invasion from a truly hostile alien race, or a paranormal uprising, or any other apocalyptic final story event. I imagine you'd have to hold out in your base until its over, and depending on your reputation with the various aliens and cryptids around facility it would determine how you might escape it. Buddies with the Arirals? They do a fly-by of your base to try and scoop you up before running away themselves. Made a good impression with the Rozitals? They might show up to protect your base in an all-out fight. Fed Wolfgang some pumpkins? You can hide out in the cave under his protection until you've weathered the storm. In any case, this theme would fit perfectly for that last frantic stand against whatever final event this game would hold, as I doubt it would end any other way than some final, chaotic mess of all the game's prior tricks being used against you at once.

Depending on your rep is how the event affects you. If you're neutral or bad rep you've gotta hide/survive, but if you have loyal rep you have to help them escape/fix their ships. Maybe it'll even give you an optional ending if you escape with them off planet.
