Honestly makes me sad to think about the possessed kerfus. Whoever came before dr.Kel had bought one and cared enough to upgrade by the fact it has a radioactive part in it. Was the poor thing buried because the original owner couldn't bring them self to kill their only friend? Just a poor kerfus buried away to keep it safe and others safe from it. What if the robot running up to you isn't the flesh thing within trying to kill you but the kefus itself thinking you're it's owner coming back? If only there was a way to save the little guy.
The doctor who came before Dr.Kel was Dr.Dee if I'm correct, it is super interesting to think about what Dr.Dee was doing before Kel came, since the base and all the transformers are all so insanely trashed for seemingly no reason. I'm thinking that he and his Kerfur (assuming this one is his) might've just succumbed to whatever weird dark forces are controlling the actual forest that VotV takes place in, meanwhile Kel isn't experiencing as much of the dark ritualistic stuff because he has to deal with DUENDE!! instead. Though Dr.Dee probably also knew about the Arirals at least since he has a poster in the bedroom with one of their ships scribbled onto it.

Or get assimilated into the bio-mechanical mass which is Kerfur and thrown into a simulation where an improved Kerfur is by your side, making sure that you're happy with the newly integrated life that Kerfur personalized for you. If you don't have a Kerfur for this ending, the ending would play differently and you would perish. Going to a place where your karma is weighed by the amount of stuff that you had before you perished. If the karma outweighs the stuff, you would be dumped into a hellscape that you've seen in all your nightmares. If the stuff outweighs the karma, you get a second chance in life. If the stuff and Karma are the same weight, you would be trapped in a limbo between the many realms... Looking through fragmented mirrors to look onto the other side. With the new kerf boss fight, you discover that kerfers have organs... which means that a kerfer is a cybernetically modified living organism, which was likely cybernetically modified without consent to do so, and it also tells that kerf really does mean it when the video says "I love you" Im not gonna dive any deeper into this
an interesting interpretation. i read the Abandoned more like fnaf 1 where people got stuffed inside the robots god only knows why someone was stripped to their bones and organs and stuffed inside a kurfur though. maybe its like Biofusion from shed 17 or something
we dont see organic matter from our kerfus when dismantling it. So the only explanation is that the orange one is special, could be the robotic companion from the guy that was working in the base before Dr. Kel. The previous worker and orange kerfus have a lot of story potential
