- Athal-Ka is still to this day, and probably forever will be, my favorite Monster Hunter final boss.
Fighting this monster for the first time in XX is something I will simply never forget, it was one of the most unique experiences, ever.
I also never got spoiled of the fight, too. Funnily, when I did a transfer of my Generations save to XX, some collab weapons were not available from Gen to XX, and as a result, a glitch happened where some collab weapons transformed into Athal-Ka weapons in the transition to XX.
I remember being astonished by the look of these golden, Egyptian themed Dual Blades, thinking that they were some sort of new Yu-Gi-Oh collab or something in XX, having no idea they were actually the Dual Blades from Athal-Ka.
I'm a huge fan of anything Egypt themed in video games in general, and deserts are my favorite landscape in real life too. This whole encounter is really all I love.
Athal-Ka has a great moveset with deceptively long range, it is by far one of the monsters with one of the largest and most interesting movesets in the series.
Athal-Neset is unfortunately much more boring and has some stupid RNG on whether or not it will instantly take you out of its back, which I was lucky did not happen in this very good run. In general, Athal-Neset gave me the best possible RNG for its moves, both when I was on the land and on its back.
The 5 phases of this fight are incredibly well thought-out, and the last cinematic shot on Athal-Ka after defeating Athal-Neset is almost more epic than any other in the series, for a monster as small as her and not as dangerous as something like Alatreon or Fatalis.
I love playing with Aerial Style against Athal-Ka because you can counter all of her moves with it, with the single exception of her pheromones-fart attack.
I really have too much to say about Athal-Ka but I feel like this description is too long already so I'll stop here.
I hope you'll enjoy this video. I had already done a video to showcase this monster but I feel like this one will be much more interesting for many.

As for why I use the Gore Magala Hammer, it's because it has 30% innate affinity. The Crimson Fatalis Hammer has 10 more raw, has double the purple sharpness and has Blast instead of dragon element, but ends up much weaker than Gore Magala's Hammer solely because of the lack of innate affinity.
The best final boss in the franchise plus you’re using aerial Hammer swag. Absurdly fun video to watch, great stuff.
One of most fun and unique fights we have ever had in the series. We need more bug monsters, I'm going to be very disappointed if the next game doesn't feature new neopterons

I think its time we just get more desert monsters.
A desert snake wyvern that buries into the sand.
An ambush predator.
I wouldn't mind another Fanged wyvern. Only ebony odor can "appear" in the desert.
And most importantly we need a native elder dragon.
Like Nefu Garumudo from explore.
The desert is a place where they can realize alot of different ideas.
Plus if we look at rise/sunbreaks roster they seem to be going with a certain theme.
I hope I will happen more frequently

May I ask your palicoes build? They seemed to be 2 great cat to have as a support!
They are your basic boomerang-throwing Palico builds, but one of them is a Bomber class and the other is Gathering class.
Is that monster an elder dragon?

It's not and Elder Dragon but has high level treat like one.
@@bulletknights the name of some bug Species in the Monster Hunter universe with monsters such as Ahtal-Ka, Seltas Queen and Vespoids.
