"if you wanna do a custom 40k army that's like 100 dudes" *stares down at my custom guard army* umm I think you are undercounting my good sir
I hear ya, each one with a unique head swap too 🙄
How many miniatures for a pure infantry team?
My army of 400 orks disagrees too
Hahaha Chaos Knights- 15 on a bad day.
I would love a Noise Marine Kill Team
maybe when emperor's children army is released...
Did someone say Noise Marines?! Crank it up!!
ruclips.net/video/LE1wSSZ-iFs/видео.html
WHAT WAS THAT?
Its just gonna be a box of 5 of those dudes with the guitar.
The starter set in Australia is $120. It contains some terrain, the contents of Kommandos ($105) and Veteran guardsman ($97). So you could buy Kommandos or Veterans or you can get both for a tiny little bit more.
Also a rulebook, tokens, and rangefinder pretty reasonable deal
Best GW deal I've seen value wise
@@P.D.W1 Even in the US it was fine when you consider it's a starter VS Box and the norm in the TT wargames industry is $200 for a box like that... Which the current parted out price is closer to $300 from GW... So yeah it was fine expensive but fine.
And just to throw it out there for anyone who is getting into KT. Kommandos and veteran guard have been S tier tournament winners since this version of KT existed. They aren't unbeatable by other teams so don't feel bad for picking them up or anything, they just don't really have bad matchups and I don't want people to assume they are bad because they were in the starter set.
I’m a tau player and I’m only getting the pathfinder kill team for deco because tactical rock. The kroot however are perfect
On the topic of your spare gallowdark terrain: big 40k boarding actions are very fun. Worth playing to mix things up
this is WHY i bought 2 kill team box sets, so I could play boarding actions.
How is the "Starter Set" not even mentioned?
The Scouts and Scorpions separate boxes are already in store at my local
Killteam rocks. Thanks for highlighting my favorite game!
I think the intercession teams are probably the best to hand to new players. 1 Box of Shooty intercessors and 1 box of Assault intercessors makes up to 3 teams, so it's also pretty cost effective as well.
I just built mine with spare assault intercessors and paint kit models I had on hand and a few 3dp parts (plasma pistol arm, bolter with grenade launcher, etc.).
@@DavidVanCleef totally. That's the other good thing about the team, almost every space marine player you know probably has at least a few on a sprue somewhere and they're often happy to sell/trade for cheap. I even had a friend give me 5 when I started in the hobby. (His way of paying forward someone who gave him stuff when he started).
First love your videos man and second I am currently making a Horus Herasy space marine killteam.
Horus Harasy plus killteam equals amazing time.
You talk so well. You’re great. So clear and enthusiastic. New sub.
For new players, I'd give them a list of teams that require only 1 box to get everything you need. Off the top of my head there's Kommandos, SM Scouts and Starstiders. I'm sure there are more.
There's over a dozen, typing in 'kill team' on the warhammer store will show all of them, minus the most recent box releases (they sell the boxes as individual teams after a couple months).
And also there's a death watch "killteam" that sneaks in on the search result that is just named thay and doesn't have an actually kill team.
Fellgor ravagers
Into the Dark (or Boarding Actions) is what I went ALL in for. I'm obsessed with the idea of Space Hulk, but you know, can't find a copy of the actual board game...so this was the next best thing for my son and I. Besides hurting my hands a couple of times, I have so much fun setting up various layouts. I just wish I could afford (and have the time) to paint up all of the KT sets.
I started with Into the Dark, and I LOVE it!!! Got the full set of Warhammer Heroes waiting to be kit bashed so I can have Strike Force Justian in sneaky Raven Guard formation
I started with the old version the rogue trader set was my first and favourite almost a game by its self.
Bro I’m jelly. Ive always liked the SM heroes idea, wish they did more with it. Affordable models in unique blind boxes is a winning idea… and then having rules to play them in KT is just perfect.
I’m surprised we don’t see all kinds of options: a chaos team, agents of the imperium, tendrils of the swarm, etc.
A great channel, and even better Kill Team resource.
Great vid love all your videos ❤
Hand of the Archon is my kill team, just painting it up now
Jay! Your video introducing the Beastmen got me to paint my first Killteam, and play my first ever wargame at a local tournament event 😂
Thanks!
I bought the Kill Team Octarius last week. At a great price. And only because you're so enthusiastic about it. But now I need more.
I'd argue that Blood Bowl is as cheap if not cheaper than Kill Team
Honestly I think they’re pretty similar in price. I think killteam has the potential to be cheaper if you go with a compendium list (if you play 40K you can probably make a list without having to buy anything but also compendium lists can get pretty cheap for warhammer standards at least).
I don't know about bloodbowls pricing, but assuming you're on a budget and okay with cutting corners you could reasonably start a kill team for under $100, paint and hobby supplies included.
i was searching for this kind of Video yesterday :D
Looking to get into Warhammer 40k and kill team is more up my alley. Great video thanks!
Great content as always
Kill Team is so fun for picking up a handful of models from a faction you don't want to commit a full army to.
also more rewarding if you are more into the building/painting side of the hobby. Fells way better to finish an entirely playable killteam instead of just some random units. I also love that i can try painting so many different styles without having to think about potential armies.
The entry price for Blood Bowl is like $40 for a team of 12-14 minis. If your opponent doesn't already have a pitch then it costs more though.
I love your kill team videos!
I ❤ ur posi+ive vibes!
I'm chooseing guard I think I'll love them
Love your channel. But is it really just models? I should probably find out what else I really need, like some sort of marks and maybe cards. Maybe it is just possible to print it from somewhere...
I love the into the dark terrain, I want a bunch of it
I think it is time that you paint something for the Black Templars. We did not have that for far too long.
I split the salvation box with a coworker. Those scouts were so sweet i had to do it
hehh i just made a phobos dude with two knives, and two pistols in holster. its looks glorious!
Seems like you forget about glorious WARCRY! FEROCIOUS, BRUTAL, FAST!
Love your content! Just one quick note: Octarius came out in 2021, not 2022.
I also highly recommend warcry for new players as well. A little bit more simplified but still a ton of fun
I think you could do some really cool themed games with the into the dark board. For example, I really like inquisitors and shit, so I think it would be fun to have the inquisitorial kill team defending the bridge of their starship against some sort of incursion
My goal for 2024 was to start with Kill Team. I already bought some stuff and than this video came around at the perfect time.
Cool as always. 👍
I would say Blood Bowl is the cheapest to get into at around $50 for a team. The rules are online and lots of high quality 3rd party sources for teams that are even less then $50 for a team.
Many killteams are also $50 and the rules are also online for free
Your custom Space Hulk bridge/ command deck that you built, would be awesome with the Into the Dark terrain. Kill Hulk.
I started getting back into wargaming with kill team. I am really in love with this game and it is so fun. Only problem I'm having now is wanting to do a massive miniature scaled game like 40k. After research I wasn't too keen on 40k and kill team scratches than sci-fi fantasy shooting itch. Deciding upon AoS. AoS plus kill team seems like a great combo
Just getting inti kill yeam and this is perfect
Hey hey.
Just some feedback. It took you 7 min to say the 1 thing I should buy. even then afterwards you talked about a lot of fluff.
I love the enthusiasm but
Let me paint you a picture:
I am interested to start Kill team. What do I do. What do I need, where do I get it. Are there online apps that can help me build rosters such as battlescribe?
This video only tells me to buy a team but what do I do after that? How do I build rosters? Run me through it, an example would be great.
Just a thought
I bought an Octarius box of eBay for my Birthday, totally worth it.
I scored just the terrain box online not that long ago for a good price. It's nice that there are still a few places to get it.
The normal 40k squads getting into Kill Team will be the new normal, easy short term money grab for GW until players get onto them
Source: I made it up
@@rozza3135But it does make sense and certainly seems to be the trend with Scouts, Scorpions, Mandrakes and Nightlords all being boxes that will appeal to 40K players. Kill Team players will be interested regardless, and making them appealing to 40K players broadens the potential sales of a box. One of the most popular upcoming Kill Team rumors is a Vespid Kill Team, which is something practically every Tau player would want. I wouldn't be surprised if the Farstalker Kinband was also them gauging potential interest in a Kroot refresh, which is now happening.
@@Mars0War
As far as gauging market interest goes, that's not the worst way to go about it - though, of course, I wouldn't want Kill Team to just become a testing spot for 40ks main game
@Mars0War Are Eldar particularly popular for 40k players? And I thought scouts were considered a joke, though I'm sure that changes from edition to edition anyway. Were 40k players really jonesing for a mandrake squad for their dark Eldar? The next box release is genestealer guard and recon dwarves.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but I just don't see the teams you listed as being particularly 40k popular, and I dont think I've seen a pattern of it.
The original comment says something about 40k squads butting into killteam to appeal to those players, but going off of the compendium list...they're already all here and most of them are horrible.
Ive been looking at the arbites box or maybe buying a leviathan box off ebay, i really like the idea of an army of judge dred robocop lookin dudes
A Compendium Hive Fleet tram placed in Top 10 (#8) at LVO 2024. And there are a number of Compendium Imperial Guard (Tempus Scions) teams that place well (even if not Top 10) at the major tournaments. Same for the Intercession Squad KT (with official free rules available online) [but also more recently not as competitively viable because of the change in the meta which favors hordes in competitive play]. All this is to say that there are other compendium (and related) teams besides Adeptus Costodes that can be considered viable, without being fully bespoke.
New terrain on patreon every month. Does that mean the previous month is gone? Or is it compounding and all the previous stuff is still available?
the kruleboyz beastslayers is the best in my opinion
I’ve been watching your videos recently and it’s weird you post this now because I’ve been thinking of getting into kill team recently. Is this a sign?
I would buy your into the dark terrain for use with boarding action lol
Ssooo? What do I need to get to play kill team? Other then a kill team of course
I love killteam. Its giving love to the more forgotten and neglected parts of 40k. No idea about tabletop because i dont play it but its given me access to loads of cool minis for my armies.
Ha i got the ork/kreigsman box for $80 on ebay. Came with everything and isbnow sitting in my closet collecting Dust lol
Hey, Can you do a our of your hobby room detailed?
Our tempesta Scion still good or did they get replaced out?
The commercial for Octarius was the best thing for orks ever made
Heeeey, I play the Lord of the Ring...
I havent decided if I want to get into KT now or just wait for the next edition coming up. I have couple teams done and some either in my backlog or WIP teams. All of them I have by default due to owning the armies. Traitor Guard i feel would eventually have become an army one day much like the Krieg. Its funny because when Krieg came out people seemed to already know eventually we would see an army of them and based on rumors and rumor engines thats coming up pretty soon. So I wouldnt be surprised if see Traitor guar within the next edition
I cannot seen to find any of the boxsets... Namly into the dark for sale anywhere
About a year ago I bought the indomitus starter box set, but I’m not sure if the rules are still the same. Should I use the rules in the box or should I search for the newest box set? I’m a bit confused if anyone can help
Eventually imma get every kill team box cause it is the best way to have a taste of every army
The old Killteam did have benifits. Such as wargear options.
I love kill team because it give me the opportunity to build a playable Sons of Sek vs Gaunt's Ghosts set of minis
If you don’t want the ITD terrain can I have please? That or a Lord of Skulls painting video
Free rules online, don't buy books that are obsolete as soon as they are printed.
Should you use the rules on Wahapedia? Do you know if there are any sites that have printable pdfs?:)
Don’t diss middle earth sbg
Is the Sisters Kill Team defunct now?
I got into KT because it was a low entry level. 10 Kill Teams later and my partner uses little plastic dinosaurs glued to bases and they win 9/10 games. 🙃
srsly tho. KT rocks. Part of the joy is spending a lot of time making your team unique. ❤🖌
where could i get kriegsman models aside from the kill team box
*Reminder:* You are completely free to make your own terrain pieces, it's easy, it's inexpensive and fun. It takes a bit of effort but the more you put into it, the more you'll enjoy it. 3D printers hasten your vision, do not sleep on that ability!
Do we have any news on when the Nightlord kill team will come out?
so what do i need to buy to play kill team with the into the dark terrain?
40k guy here with only salvation and the ITD terrain box
Some random garbage to mark objective spots and and a measuring tape I suppose. All the rules are online.
For quality of life it would be nice for you to have their measuring tools and their objective cards, but they aren't strictly necessary for gameplay. The online rules should have maps and missions you can use with your terrain.
Grey knights are a very think before you act type of team also wish the spec ops mode had more to it rather then just killteam but upgrades
Need buff on heavy intercessor. That's my main TT
Kill Team Is so fun!
Man I wish I could afford the into the dark terrain 😢 seems like a really fun way to mix up kill team
When did the EOB logo change? I like it
You forgot to talk about the amount of tan sand season one had. Thanks gents!! Fantastic as always!!!
If you wanna get more technical something like Blitz Bowl would be even more affordable
wish i could buy any of the intothe dark terrains, sold out in eu atleast.
The intro did make me laugh just cause Kill Team and MESBG are the two most played games at my FLG. 40K comes in third but almost exclusively through crusade
Kill team is literally chess with guns, thats awesome
Hey. Need 2 into the dark sets for the Arks of Omens 40k space hulk game.
Personally I don't mind what they did with the new teams being just 40k units cause I guess it could be a move to shorten the gap for 40k players to get into kill team. My only gripe is that you get repeating poses which I feel is a sin in kt
i just bought the kommandos pack to paint the orcs and i dont even know how to play kill team or 40k, if i want to make a 40k army in the future will i be able to use the miniatures from the kommandos box?
Yes, those minis have 40k rules. It may not translate 1 to 1 super easily, but as far as I know there are no kill team exclusive squads.
@@eewweeppkk thanks
What about Ashes of faith as a non-season related box set
I still need into the dark terrain. I held out for Tyranids to get a team and never bought any. Jay, can you sell one set of your ItD terrain to me?!
I kinda hope Kill team gets weirder and more asymmetrical in the future. Like I want a box that's like a single techmarine, a dreadnought, and like two or three servitors and thats it.
haha you will never have a Dreadnought in a Kill Team, last chance would be in a narrative box but not in a classic Kill team, they already said Cryptek and Captain are a biiiiig Élite choice, they will never put classic 40k vehicule
I like where your heart is, but the way the system plays right now just doesn't really support something like that.
I’ve never played 40K, but I dig the lore, so when you say all you need for Kill Team is your box of dudes, does that mean you don’t “need” the terrain? Or is that a must have as well?
You need terrain and things like the measuring rules or barriers. You also need the rules for your miniatures. You can of course use books and cans for terrain, use a measuring tape to calculate distances and find the rules for free online. So kind of yes, kind of no. Technically you do not even need minis if by the same standard you wanna use paper miniatures instead. All in all, I disagree that Kill Team is the most affordable game to start (I would say Warcry is) but it is not that expensive either. I would still recommend the official tokens and such or the measuring rules, and terrain, so how cheap that makes it is debatable.
I would recommend starting with the Intercessor team (Space Marines) as the rules for the, were *officially* actually free to download (unlike anyhing else which you can use unofficial sites for)
I have octarus. It s still shrink wrapped.
wow how did you just predict many contents that on my mind?
Excuse me…the best, cheap Games Workshop game is Blitz Bowl (at Barnes and Noble).
So wait can u use kill team members in ur 40k army
Just a small correction! Middle earth strategy battle game is GW:s best game. By far that is. Thank you that was all!
the 2023 book is just the kill teams that were released in during gallowdark, its not a reprint of the original compendium.
Where can I find free ork kommandos and vet-guardsmen-Krieger-guys rules for kill team?
type in those names on google and rules and it should be one of the first options.
I’ve bought them all.
Also bought shadow war: Armageddon
