    This was more than just a mere gun review. It was sheer firearm poetry of Shakespearean proportion.

    8 years later and I still feel the same way about this firearm. Nothing comes close to the V1 lem Lt. Had a V3 with a decocker no safety, didn't like the decocker but that introduced me to the HK design. Bought a P30L lem with night sights, didn't like the sights, my eyes probably. Bought a P30Sk Lem Lt with luminescent and that was it. In love. I just traded it for a large amount of work done at my house a few days ago. I thought I would be fine when she left. I have other revolvers and pistols. I'll be OK. Yesterday went through the internet looking for the perfect pistol, I ordered an HK, P30SK Lem Lt today. They still are the best by far. Now with 12 and a 15 round mag in the box with 17 options from HK, it has become even better.

      I just traded a P30 V3 for the P30SK V1 light lem....shoot it so much better. I almost want to get rid of my other 9mm offerings and just rock these for life.

      I love my P30sk V1 lite LEM… I would highly recommend installing a Gray Guns reduced reset kit.. They cost about 100bucks and are readily available from Gray Guns and also other places that sell parts for fun stuff… It does make a much improved reset and makes it even more pleasant to shoot.. The kit is very easy to install, and he has a how to video on this channel.. Took me about 15min, and has been 100% so far after about 1200 rounds …. IMO it makes the pistol just perfect.. The short and slim slide release levers are also a great upgrade… Get the grip panels and back strap to your liking , add some Talon Grip tape and you will have one incredible carry pistol 👍… I feel the Gray Guns reduced reset kit should be installed in all P30 series, and P2k series of pistols because they improve the reset that good… Probably the best improvement you can do to those pistols 👍👍

    Very nice review, and I agree with you, the HK P30 SK LEM is an awesome compact, I have the v3 in this gun and just ordered the LEM V-1 and look forward to getting it, I have just about all the offerings in a compact carry gun, but there is just something very special about the 30 SK, that makes me smile, I'm a lefty and totally appreciate the engineering that went into this gun as well as other HK ambi guns of late, I won't carry a gun that isn't ambi because being able to use a gun proficiently with either hand and having that gun user friendly with both hands is a must for me for an EDC gun, I also love my Sig Legion P229 and P225 A-1, for carry which aren't ambi, but I have no problem using these guns in my left hand, everything just works , I will start switching these guns out in my rotation, again great review , thanks for sharing...

    Love the p30 line especially the Sk. I would love this sk frame with a standard p30 slide. The Sk is so versatile with the new magazines. 10 flush to 17 is really nice

    I thought that my H&K VP9 SK was a great pistol, and I had purchased this firearm to replace my Glock 26 which I had carried for many years. Prior to purchasing the H&K VP9 SK, I had recently purchased a Glock 19 Gen 5 since this pistol was slightly larger than the Glock 26. However, I was still not pleased with the trigger on either of the Glocks. A friend had let me shot his H&K VP9 SK at the range, and I immediately came to the conclusion that the trigger on the H&K was much better than any Glock trigger to include the improved trigger on the Generation 5 Glocks. After reading several articles on the H&K P30 SK, I decided to look at one at the range where I shoot to see how I would possible like a hammer fired H&K over a striker fired H&K. Having carried a 1911 pistol for many years before switching to a Glock pistol for my EDC and agreeing with most individuals that a 1911 pistol has the best trigger, I felt that the H&K P30 SK might be that firearm that I had been looking for to put into my firearm rotation. Switching from double action to single action after the first shot does not cause any problems for me as many individuals have complained for years. Without a doubt, I am enjoying the H&K P30 SK more than the H&K VP9 SK. Today the H&K P30 SK has become my EDC pistol, and the H&K VP9 SK with a Olight Baldr Mini has become my nightstand and range bag backup firearm. I would recommend either of these H&K pistols as an EDC firearm over any Glock pistol.

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  2 года назад +2

      Oh the triggers on the VP9 are a massive step above the Glock offerings. The wider trigger bow also provides much better consistency and almost eliminates any sort of struggle translating into your sights. I really love what they did with the VP9 triggers.

  • @Renaldo135
    @Renaldo135 7 лет назад +1

    thanks for the video. I have the one with the decocker adjacent to the hammer and has a heavy double then single action. One of the only real subs you can work with one hand and either hand. carries well too.

    Just picked one up at a local shop. Your video is what sold me. I wasn't planning on buying one just yet, but I found a V1 LEM with the standard sights/non-LE package (which is exactly what I wanted) for $643 out the door, which included sales tax and the retarded $6 background check fee. I am planning on replacing the factory sights with Trijicon HDs. Well, it will be nice having 2x HKs in the pile now. Somehow I doubt it will be the last.

      decodeddiesel You are correct. Your (healthy) addiction is just beginning!

    • @decodeddiesel
      @decodeddiesel 7 лет назад +1

      No lol, this isn't the beginning. This is actually the 5th HK pistol I have owned. I lost 2 (a .45 USP, and a 9mm P30 LEM) in a divorce. I sold my first HK, a .40 USP, a few years before that to buy the USP .45. I am slowly rebuilding my pile as funds allow. My next will probably be a P30L, a HK45C, or the VP9L when it goes up for sale in the US.

    • @champy1210
      @champy1210 7 лет назад

      decodeddiesel Alright, then you already know! From your choices, I'd recommend the P30L (or the P30). As well, give the USP9C a look; it's a work of Teutonic, concealable art! If you can swing (not to mention find) a SS version of the latter, go for it!

    Hey man gun looks awesome. I used to have a p2000sk and it has that same type of double recoil spring. I thought the sk shot better than the regular p2000. I'm a sucker for a usp compact though in 9 or 45 and especially the full size usp45. Prefer usp in 9mm over the p Series pistols and usp over the hk45. I was going to get a shield for deep concealment while at work now I am going to have to find a way to make the p30sk work in tuck able holster, bellyband or ankle. Btw you and all your past vids have contributed to my HK addiction lol

    • @thisismagacountry1318

      Why the USP 45 over the HK45T? I thought the HK was the next evolution of the USP? Is it because the USP is built to a rugged level required for the military testing trials?

    • @ZEFFENWULF
      @ZEFFENWULF 2 года назад +1

      @@thisismagacountry1318 the USP holds 12 rounds the HK45 only 10. That’s why I’ve stuck with my USP at least. The fit and finish also feels more quality on the USP.

    PSA: if you own a p30sk and are frustrated by the 10 round limited magazines, the P2000 13 round mags actually fit and function in the p30sk. I found this out by pure accident when I had both weapons on the bench and picked up the wrong mag when going to load the p30sk, but was pleasantly surprised, it made the afternoon at the range a lot easier while I was shooting the p30sk.

    P30sk is a fantastic subcompact. My only other favorite subcompact is the p99as compact. I have the p99as and the p99c and both compliment each other really well and are innovative firearms being a DA/SA striker with a great trigger and weight almost identicle to glock19 and glock26. However, the p30sk is fantastic as well. I am hoping to add a p30L eventually to compliment it since I am a walther/hk fan. If you ever get a chance to try either, you wont be disappointed.

    I don't think I would like the P30SK grip more than P2000SK grip. since I didn't like the P30 vs the USPC and p2000.
    I do like that the P30SK V3 uses a thumb lever like the USP. Then again I actually don't like the thumb lever on my USP and would rather have the rear of slide decocker.

I know for practical purposes the vp9 makes more sense, but I just like the hk p30 more. even now the p30s are pricier than the vp9s, even if the prices for the p30s went down somewhat since the demand for them has been lowered since the vp9 took the market by storm. are there any objective reasons (differences in quality, performance, handling etc) that justifies the price difference between them? thanks. again, great to see you back.

    How does it carry appendix style? Does it have the tendency to cant outward from the body like the Glock 26 (all the weight in the handle)?

      It seems pretty balanced to me. What holster are you using?

      @@navyman8903 I don’t appendix carry my striker fired pistols, but hear that is a complaint with the 26 so I thought I’d ask. Green Force Tactical. Looking to move to a DA/SA appendix carry.

    ohhhh now i know who you are lol sorry about that i just assumed you were some troll. But to get back to the Vp9 thing if water stops it from working what do you think about the SEALs adopting the g19?

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  8 лет назад

      +GunGlutton There's a few videos where it works after being submerged. As for the SEALS.....we'll see how it goes. I haven't seen anything on writing about it, just internet chatter. Hopefully if they do, they figure out the water issue.

    Welcome back! Other reviews I've watched seemed to think it's too big for a pocket gun, and there are better options (capacity, caliber, longer barrel etc) that will go AIWB or IWB just as easy. Thoughts?

    I have this and trying to decide between the viridian c5l and the streamlight tlr 8. Thoughts anyone?
    Also do they get rid of the decocker button on the LEM?

    Good review , My p30sk Finally came in. I could have got the da/sa v3 model along time ago, but really wanted to try that light lem trigger. Cant wait for this weekend to get to the range with it. What kind of ammo do you mostly practice with.? Im also glad to see that 30rnd vp9 mag will run in this p30sk. Great review as always, for awhile there I thought you might have died or something. Keep those reviews coming, Thanks.
