Just might be my Favorite Video. No stupid background music, or kids acting stupid. Most of all no comparisons to every kind of Glock ever made. I've never even held a Glock so why should I care. Great sound work, good lighting , very understandable with no heavy accents. Great facts and just a high quality video, I think i'll go back and watch it again, maybe I missed the price, Thanks for putting this out, I enjoyed it.
It is a awesome and "superior" gun to most. This thing is truly awesome from how good it shoots to the ergonomics. It is truly ambidextrous also. for the price people are paying for that Sig P938 this could be had and it's in my opinion superior.
Good review, agree on all points. I will say that I purchased a sleeve from HKpro, I believe it was, that covered the 15 round mag. I carry mine quite a lot in an Edge Works G-Code IWB holster. Mine is the V1 as well and I love the trigger.
I own several handguns including Glock 26, Springfield XDS 9mm, Ruger LCP2, Sig, Kahr P380, S&W TRR8 and Walther PPS, and my HK P30SK LEM is my absolute favorite. If I could only have one, this would be it.
I've had mine about a year. I added the extended aluminum base plates from HK Partsnet for a better purchase and also added the 13 round HK mag with the X Grip collar. I'll try to figure out how to add pictures.
I started collecting HK's a couple of years ago, but not being a fan of sub compacts I atnever really looked at this model or the P2000sk or VP9sk. Recently I bid on a v1 model listed on GunBroker and somehow won. Nice to know that HK and XGrip both listened to Dave and no offer a few extended magazine options.
Very good review of the H&K P30SK...the best review I have watched on this pistol. I am considering the H&K P30SK, but I am unsure of the model: (DA/SA) with a serrated decocker or LEM. Why did you opt for the LEM over the DA/SA? I would appreciate your input. Again, great gun review.
Great Video. just picked one up today. Love it! I have the VP9 as well and it is a blast to shoot. HK is supposed to be releasing the VP9SK in the fall of 2017.
Just got the P30SK V1 LEM Great looking and Great Feeling gun. Can't wait to take it to the Range. Now to get a Holster. I am thinking of getting a larger magazine for it for range use. Seems all the 9mm HK Mags seem to fit.
HK Parts makes a nice, all-aluminum +2 pinkie extension to bump the mag to 12 rounds (if you live in a free state). The "Standard" P30SK is better for me - I like a manual safety if I'm going to carry with a round in the chamber. Like the de-cocker function after chambering 1st round. Double-Action trigger is really not bad and single-action is very nice thereafter. Great shooting pistol.
I carry the full size vp9 an don’t mind but In certain situations I want something smaller An have 3 choices In mind all hk of course 1. Vp9 sk 2.p30 sk 3. P2000 sk Decisions decisions
Finally got my hands recently on the p30sk v3 took a while because got other guns an worked on a 308 rifle Then this pandemic hit an ammo has slowed down
Completely missed a close range head shot! Best stick with C.O.M. until you get more range time. Ok, seriously - I have a few HKs, and I have lately carried the VP9 quite a lot, but I Just got a P30SKS LE V3 and it has now, after 500 rounds, replaced my G26 for sub compact carry. It is the SA/DA model and the trigger is typical HK - not great but pretty good. LOVE THIS GUN! I use an ONYX as well. The Ventilation is great. Nice review, please keep them coming! Stay safe.
Justin, I Love your videos. While I might be a Glock fanboy, I also own and love my Kimber Ultra II, Springfield XDS, and Sig 938. Can you tell me how this gun compares to let's say my G26? Thank you, sir.
That done also has the heavier double action trigger pull if you pull the trigger without racking the slide first it's a heavy double action but by racking the slide first it becomes a light double action trigger pull
Douglas Smith Douglass, Welcome to the World of Guns! I believe the advantages LEM vs. DA/SA are 1. No need or want for a safety 2. Consistent trigger pull 3. No need to de-cock 4. LEM sounds cool.
The gun is single action. The only time it's not single action is if you had a failure to fire and you went to double strike. The external hammer moves freely and is only effected by the trigger return spring until the sear releases the internal hammer.
I have one with a 15 round mag sleeve that makes it feel damn-near like the P30 L, other than the length of the barrel which for my purposes as of right now between my SIG p226 and this im good, right now i just want to master this gun. Honestly though that sleeve changes the way you shoot and draw quite dramatically just like you';d get with a full size, but with acompact sized barrel! looks so interesting.
Great Video! I am torn between buying the VP9 or this P30SK. I already have a Glock 19 which seems to be very similar to the VP9 as far as magazine capacity goes and while the VP9 has a better trigger out of the box, I do have a custom trigger on the Glock which probably makes up for the better trigger on the VP9. I am not a Glock Fan Boy and the 19 is the only Glock I have. The reason I consider the P30SK is the size. The Glock is a tad large for Everyday Carry. So the P30SK would probably be a better choice. My question now is which version is the better one. The V1 LEM or the regular V3 (Double/Single action). How is the Double action only LEM trigger?
I personally like the light LEM better, especially for carry. You might see if you can find one locally before you buy it. Most people either love it or hate it. For me, it's the best carry trigger configuration available. No safety or decocker to get in the way. Just draw and fire, the light long pull is a safety feature to keep the possibility of accidental discharges at a minimum. I have both triggers in my HK's. DA/SA or LEM for range fun or Light LEM V1 for carry.
Great review! I own both the HK VP9 and the HK P30sk and those Stealth Gear holsters as well for both pistols! Lol! I also own a Gen 4 Glock 19 which is nice that I've been carrying for a few weeks now...BUT....the Heckler & Koch brand is definitely my preferred brand of choice.....PERIOD!! I also carry the P30sk and use the VP9 for home defense! I'll be adding the HK 45 compact and the HK VP40 to my HK family in the upcoming weeks.
Carlos Guerrero No I haven't! Since my last post here I did pick up the HK45C and P30 as well. I just went to the range yesterday with the P30SK to run another 200 rounds through it while using the "new" pinky extension I got for it from HK. It shot very smoothly! My next HK purchase will either be the P2000 or USP Compact 9mm.
Carlos Guerrero Absolutely! It's one of my CCW's. Why wouldn't I carry it? Lol! Seriously though bro....I conceal carry ALL of my HK's. Sometimes I carry my P30, sometimes I carry my VP9, sometimes I carry my HK45C and right now I'm carrying my P30SK. When I pick up either the P2000 or the USP Compact 9mm....I'll carry those as well!
Own a SIG 1911 ( my favorite) USP (close second), P220, P226, Beretta 92FS, M9 and 92S, Glock 19(x3) and 26, HK P30SK and HK P2000 .40 V2 LEM (my favorite carry next to the P30SK) The HK P30/P2000 series has impressed me more than any other firearm I've owned, and the list I just gave is pretty short on what I've owned ,just what I currently own. (not even that). The P30SK would be my #1 recommend for an EDC firearm chambered in 9mm or .40.
PSA: if you own a p30sk and are frustrated by the 10 round limited magazines, the P2000 13 round mags actually fit and function in the p30sk. I found this out by pure accident when I had both weapons on the bench and picked up the wrong mag when going to load the p30sk, but was pleasantly surprised, it made the afternoon at the range a lot easier while I was shooting the p30sk.
Negative. But a sleeve called the "X-grip" can be bought for ~$14 on ebay and elsewere that will allow it to fit flush: just type X-grip P2000sk into the search bar.
+Carlos Guerrero the p30SK is more ergonomic and the takedown pin is captured so it can't be lost. The p30SK has larger mag release that gives you better leverage for a faster mag drop. The p2000SK is thinner and carries better also the grips are less ergonomic but rub less when carrying IWB
BIKES BLADES/GUN'S HK's are not cheap, that's for sure. Some shopping around and you can find them close to $100 less than MSRP once there is stock on the shelves.
H&K has been offering 12, 13, 15, 17 +1 for the SK, they are made for the pistol with finger grips and the full polymer cover, also fit the VP9sk
Just might be my Favorite Video. No stupid background music, or kids acting stupid. Most of all no comparisons to every kind of Glock ever made. I've never even held a Glock so why should I care. Great facts and just a high quality video, I think i'll go back and watch it again, maybe I missed the price, Thanks for putting this out, I enjoyed it.
Justin is the best.
Nice full review - I have this same model and it has become my daily carry after putting about 400 rounds through it. Have the same holster as well.
It is a awesome and "superior" gun to most. This thing is truly awesome from how good it shoots to the ergonomics. It is truly ambidextrous also. for the price people are paying for that Sig P938 this could be had and it's in my opinion superior.
Great review! It's my first handgun. Enjoying it!

I'm looking forward to getting this model with the LEM trigger.
I own several handguns including Glock 26, Springfield XDS 9mm, Ruger LCP2, Sig, Kahr P380, S&W TRR8 and Walther PPS, and my HK P30SK LEM is my absolute favorite. If I could only have one, this would be it.

Frank Zappa and a Heckler & Koch = great taste

I just bought a H-K P30SKS. Can u explain the double action vs single action please? My gun looks different than the one n the video.
Great video! That looks like an awesome little gun.
Just got the P30SK V1 LEM Great looking and Great Feeling gun. Can't wait to take it to the Range. Now to get a Holster. I am thinking of getting a larger magazine for it for range use. Seems all the 9mm HK Mags seem to fit.
It will also take the 13 round p2000 mags.. and an X-grip sleeve is available... Works very well!! That's what I use!!
always enjoy your videos sir, keep up the excellent work. thank you
Justin great video. How do you compare/like the LEM compared to a DAK? Thanks for all your great videos.
These mag release is on these types of weapons are superior in every way to the American style mag release
HK Parts makes a nice, all-aluminum +2 pinkie extension to bump the mag to 12 rounds (if you live in a free state). Well that was cool! Great review, I do not have the LEM trigger, but even without it the DA/SA is quite nice.
I have this exact model and the Beretta PX4 storm subcompact and I love both
i know this is an old comment but which one recoils less?
I've asked a couple of your comments the same question. Have you shot the P2000SK 9mm? Which do you like more?
I carry the full size vp9 an don’t mind but In certain situations I want something smaller
An have 3 choices In mind all hk of course
1. Vp9 sk
2.p30 sk

Just ordered mine. LEM. Feel like a kid waiting for Santa. He'll be driving the big brown truck of happiness.
Hi Chris, I am new to the gun world. What is the value of the LEM DA/DA. Is it to make sure that every round is deliberate?
Douglas Smith
Douglass, Welcome to the World of Guns! I believe the advantages LEM vs. DA/SA are 1. No need or want for a safety 2. Consistent trigger pull
3. No need to de-cock

Hey I watched you review this on your channel already!
love the guy my absolute favorite. just ordered the stealth gear iwb mini holster
The gun is single action. The only time it's not single action is if you had a failure to fire and you went to double strike.
The external hammer moves freely and is only effected by the trigger return spring until the sear releases the internal hammer.
You mention that VP9 mags and P30 9mm mags fit the p30sk, what about the USP comp 9mm mags or the p2000 9 mm mags? Shouldn't they also fit?
Have you ever shot a Walther P99c? I've been trying to decide between that and this.
Nice Zappa tee!
Thanks for a great video. I think I'm going to buy this gun now.
The IWB VentCore holster looks great
The LEM model has a much lighter trigger once the slide is right versus if the slide is not wrapped and you just pull the trigger
I have one with a 15 round mag sleeve that makes it feel damn-near like the P30 L, other than the length of the barrel which for my purposes as of right now between my SIG p226 and this im good, right now i just want to master this gun. Carlos Guerrero Absolutely! It's one of my CCW's. Why wouldn't I carry it? Lol! Seriously though bro....I conceal carry ALL of my HK's. Great vid, love the t shirt
Love the gun, nice review. Thank you
love the video love the gun good job.

thats outstanding!!
does the P2000, 13 round magazine fits flushed on the P30SK?
Negative. But a sleeve called the "X-grip" can be bought for ~$14 on ebay and elsewere that will allow it to fit flush: just type X-grip P2000sk into the search bar.
There are also X-grips for the P30 magazines; make sure you double-check that it's for the magazine you want.
Adam Card thanks , that was helpful
Love this gun
Excellent Video!!!!!!!!!
i hear the spent brass, ejects back to your face. Have you notice this?
Joe it dose my first range visit.
Joe same happened my first range visit with this exact gun with the LEM trigger. The more I shot it, brass ejected to the side rather than back at me
I have a p30sk9mm and a p2000sk .40 and I use USP magazines on both to provide a greater capacity.
I'm debating on the P30SK 9mm and the P2000SK... do you prefer one over the other? And why?
+Carlos Guerrero the p30SK is more ergonomic and the takedown pin is captured so it can't be lost. The p30SK has larger mag release that gives you better leverage for a faster mag drop. The p2000SK is thinner and carries better also the grips are less ergonomic but rub less when carrying IWB
Which one shoots better in your opinion? Feels better?
+Carlos Guerrero no difference to me.
P30SK it is. Thanks!
I'd want one if it had a similar magazine baseplate as that of the p2000sk.
That's good news! Thanks for the info man.
+Driver6647 dan you beat me too it lol
Holy cow brother you flagged me several times.
Have 4 Hk's but need this sk in V1 w Mepros or Trij. BADLY.
Very good vid!
I just got one for Christmas
I forgot you wrote for Guns America
Well done
Sweet!
how much $
+BIKES BLADES/GUN'S $719 - $819 (this model is the top end of that)
Wow that's pretty pricey
BIKES BLADES/GUN'S HK's are not cheap, that's for sure. Some shopping around and you can find them close to $100 less than MSRP once there is stock on the shelves.
I no HK there pricey but worth it
+BIKES BLADES/GUN'S You can find them online for less. Then have it sent to a local gun shop.
Heckler & Coke?? Diet-Coke?
I want this,n fns, Xd mod 2 .45
