  • I traded my P30 SK from the DA/SA to the LEM Trigger. Here's why!

    You too can look like a well chiseled stud!
    Don't forget to buy guns! Get them at www.notjustguns.com

    In case of trolls:
    The LEM Trigger has a very light travel when pre-cocked and the trigger break is also very light. It is for those reasons that I operate with such caution. You should too. No fair pull-testing that trigger - - especially at kids parties.

    * Moving the gun too much.” *
    Yes, I know I move the gun a lot in this video. From rude people to nice, I hear it all the time about this video. “Are you nervous.” “Stop moving the damn gun!” “Are you fidgety?” Etc...
    Not going into my medical history, but because I had been criticized for just leaving the gun on the table (people would ask if they could “see some other side of the gun”) I opted to pick it up and turn it for the viewer.
    Some days are better than others, but I’m looking to get some sort of attractive display to use as a turnstile to just slowly turn the gun.
    I appreciate every viewer, but please keep it nice.

    I just purchased the P30 SK with the LEM trigger. I'm taking it to the Range this Saturday and hopefully put about 100 rounds through it.
    Thank you for the video!

    I think the reason people are critical of the p30 series trigger is they own multiple firearms with different trigger systems and can't help but compare

    • @CitizenCarry
      @CitizenCarry  5 месяцев назад +1

      That is kind of true… but for some reason I just couldn’t get comfortable with it. I would probably have kept it if I didn’t know about the LEM trigger. That one just attracted me a bit more.

    I'd recommend against emptying the chamber every time you come home (if that's what you meant). You're going to eventually run into (dangerous) bullet setback from continually chambering and ejecting the same rounds over and over again. Or, you'll just end up wasting A LOT of money on new ammo unnecessarily. If your firearm is safely and securely stored away from unauthorized users, there is no reason to empty it; I recommend keeping your weapon in the same "condition" whenever possible. My take.

    • @CitizenCarry
      @CitizenCarry  6 лет назад

      champy1210 Not a bad take in my opinion! I do it automatically because (except for my bed side gun which is always hot) my steps are to chamber the round directly before holstering the weapon. Just to give myself a consistent order.

    The only reason you should be unloading the the chamber is when you are going to clean it, hand it off to someone for what reason and or repair it. For carrying or home defense, there should be one in the chamber!!!!

    I don’t think the reset is any shorter. I think the more powerful TRS in the LEM just makes it feel that way. I know on every other Hk the reset is the same as the SA in an equivalent SA/DA variant.

    • @CitizenCarry
      @CitizenCarry  6 лет назад

      Oh I don’t know.... I could instantly feel the difference in both take up and reset. I do the DA/SA version of the trigger too, and I can tell you it’s way different.

    • @ericjohnson1455
      @ericjohnson1455 5 лет назад +2

      It isn't and the take up is just as long. The LEM doesn't address the issues he is complaining about. I have them side by side and the trigger weight (V1 LEM), reset and take up are identical minus the fact the LEM always has the take up length of a DA pull.

  • @Actuary1776
    @Actuary1776 6 лет назад +3

    I think you are confused on how the lem works. Why would you treat it any differently than a da/sa? The trigger system is an automatic decocker.

    • @CitizenCarry
      @CitizenCarry  6 лет назад

      actuary 1776 I was referring to the fact that when you have a round chambered there is no decocker function. With a da/sa you can lower the hammer or decock it. You do not get a chambered handgun with the long hard double action trigger pull unless you got a dud round or a light primer strike.

    • @Actuary1776
      @Actuary1776 6 лет назад +3

      2improper Channel Right, but I think it’s safe to keep a round in the chamber, I got the impression you thought that was unsafe. You only need a decocker if you have a single action sear, which I don’t believe is in the lem setup. With a round in chamber the hammer is always down and you have a firing pin block. That is good to go safety wise.

    • @CitizenCarry
      @CitizenCarry  6 лет назад +3

      actuary 1776 Yup... actually since I did this production I’m finding myself leaving the round chambered in the safe. It’s a light trigger, but it’s not going to shoot itself...lol!

    • @Actuary1776
      @Actuary1776 6 лет назад +2

      2improper Channel Nope it won’t. Most ccw carriers like it because it’s a light uptake with a clean “single action” like break, but a hammer that allows for much safer reholstering. I had multiple glocks but could never get myself comfortable enough to carry one in the chamber. I feel much more comfortable with a hammer.

    I own the P30sk V3 and have a question for a LEM owner. Do you carry with one in the chamber? So many people I know with striker fired do not. So what’s the point? I’d rather carry 10+1 and have a safer trigger. I don’t bounce around with different guns so switching trigger feel is not as much a concern.

    • @CitizenCarry
      @CitizenCarry  5 лет назад

      heystarfish100 I certainly carry chambered. But that’s with all of my guns. The LEM trigger is light, but you still have to go through the small effort in order to get to the break. It’s a lighter trigger,.

    • @rifleshooterchannel208
      @rifleshooterchannel208 5 лет назад

      heystarfish100 Carried a USP9 since 2009 and it has been LEM since 2014 and there has not been a period in those nearly 10 years that it has been unchambered for any reason other than cleaning it or because I shot it empty.
      It is perfectly safe to keep loaded as is any other modern quality autopistol from the major manufacturers.

    • @rtucker1004
      @rtucker1004 4 года назад +1

      Yes, always chambered and always secure in its full kydex holster for safety. Hold your thumb on the hammer as you holster it. It will not go off negligent. It only comes out of the holster to be used, so it needs to be ready. When I take it off at home it stays in the holster, trigger covered. Very safe. Much safer than a striker fire, IMHO. My LEM has night sights. I added the extension to two 10 rnd mags, and have two 15 rnd mags for the range.

      I carried a Glock 22 for my entire law enforcement career and it was mandatory to carry with one in the chamber. As for the HK’s, I own 5 P30’s and they are all LEM. I also have an HK45, HK45c, HK USP 45, USP45c and USP Tactical 9… ALL in LEM. Obviously using a solid IWB holster, I absolutely carry these with a round in the chamber. The travel is so long that it is very unlikely anything could snag it, plus you can place your thumb over the top of the hammer when holstering which prevents it from going off anyway. Good trigger finger discipline is key, but it’s a very safe set up. I hope that helps.

      I have a Glock as well, and I just feel more confident carrying the HK P30SK with the LEM trigger.... It's like the benefits of having a double action gun, AND a semi auto all in one gun... You get the safety of the Double action trigger, with the capacity of a semi auto gun, and faster reloads than a revolver as well. If you local gun range rents them it is well worth it to go and try it first if you are on the fence.... If you live in the Seattle area you can give mine a try if you want, just let me know.

      Citizen Carry Channel oh I was just teasing. I just bought an HKP2000sk with lem. I noticed that the trigger pull felt like a double action when the gun hadn’t been cocked. I know little about da/sa and not much more about LEM. it was advertised as a v2 and has no decocker. Do you know if they made a version that was da/sa with no decocker?
      Also, do you know if mags are interchange with p30sk and p2000sk?

    • @CitizenCarry
      @CitizenCarry  4 года назад

      Casey Flentye
      I think that the DA/SA can be ordered with or without a decocker. At least I’m pretty sure.
      And if memory serves, the mags are interchangeable.
      The LEM trigger system allows for second strike: but I think that since the LEM doesn’t have a decocker, the only time you’d experience the long heavy DA pull would be if the chambered round didn’t go off.
      You may want to check on the magazine thing, though I’m mostly sure they’re compatible.

      Rev. Gunn Because it’s not a striker- fired pistol and the trigger is much lighter than a Glock: it’s worth going into that for those that might like knowing it doesn’t have a decocker and the trigger is much lighter. Though you conveyed it in D-bag fashion, I do get your point.
