So Disney buys 20th century fox, marvel, & Star Wars rights all of which are PG-13 rated and have adult content, like the Simpsons, puts on Disney+ but cannot revive a new mature adult Lizzie McGuire reboot? That doesn’t make any sense at all...

Because Disney loves to nitpick over everything that’s wrong in the world. Walt Disney wasn’t even that great of a person either too, people called him anti-Semitic and racist too. So it’s truly not a surprise that adult situations are a problem as well. It is rather strange to see disclaimers of movies done in the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s on these movies from Disney but it’s not ok for adult situations being used. Like you said, The Simpsons for example, they have so much maturity situations in that show being its been on since 1989, and have clearly racist situations with the characters who have done the voices or even Apu himself too. Nobody found those characters or movies ever a problem back in those days but now they do? Look at even other shows on Disney/ABC like Boy Meets World which was a tween show like Lizzie McGuire was. They had episodes involving adult situations involving abuse, drinking and sex but Disney banned those episodes on their channel as well. Even the spinoff Girl Meets World too, they didn’t want to be edgy involving adult situations but have no issues involving bullying and protests. Disney outta be ashamed of themselves for ruining a great tween show like Lizzie McGuire not being rebooted because of adult situations. I mean cmon, Hilary Duff wanted to have the show go to Hulu but Disney wouldn’t allow it, don’t you own Hulu Disney??? My god Disney company people are so pathetic and so Democratic over every damn thing that’s wrong with the world. It’s just a real shame that Lizzie McGuire which made Hilary Duff famous in the first place wont be rebooted because of Disney being so nitpicking. That’s why the show fell through and it’s a real shame.
@@stefantomasi4036 Also I like to say, don’t bathmouth shows like Family Guy either. Yes I know it’s playing out like the Simpsons are, but at least they were truthful. Seth Macfarlane is a talented person who can sing, and a very skillful person too. The show has had its moments in and out, it was canceled three times before. Seth knows how the show is and he’s taking the heat enough from haters like Matt Stone and Trey Parker have from South Park and guess what, the shows are still here aren’t they? You can’t bash a show because you don’t like it or have a problem with it. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it then. Nobody controls you what u watch or what you don’t. Besides it isn’t about Family Guy, it’s about Disney being pathetic over adult situations over a tween show that truly was popular in its day, Lizzie McGuire.

@@omarmartin5294 no, it has nothing to do with the pandemic. The original creator left the revival due to creative differences back in January 2020, since then the production was on hiatus for a while to figure out what to do with the series. Duff herself want the revival to happen and she suggested to just move the series to Hulu if Disney doesn't want an adult content in their streamig service which also doesn't make sense cuz they have a lot of R Rated movies from Fox in their streaming service. It's just creative differences dude that made the show cancelled. It's Disney's fault

Way to go Disney, they didn’t want an authentic show where they would mention sex and what a grown woman will be doing today, just to appeal the kids instead of the audience that I love the show back in the day that has grown up. They could’ve easily put the show on FreeForm and I promise you the show would have worked.

@@ashtonbrown9880 "Hulu" is fully controlled by "Disney". The Kardashians made the move because there's more money to be had w/this subsidiary of "Disney" than on cable tv whose audiences are dwindling.
When the original creator left the project I knew It wouldn’t happen and I’m glad its not. I loved Lizzie so much growing up that I’d rather have nothing then the utter trash Disney was willing to shit out just for a profit. So good on Hilary and the cast for not just seeing this as a payday and actually wanting the show to be true to itself. Sad that a multi-billion dollar company is too selfish and greedy to get behind and support such wonder people left in the industry who still have a soul.

OMG I was thinking the same thing! That's why I was so surprised to hear that only 2 episodes had been shot! They really used this series to get people to join which is exactly why I cancelled :/

The people who grew up with her do not want to see her act like she’s 13 again. We are all grown and we deserve to see her go through adult things. Disney did the same thing with Raven and even tho it’s still on, I don’t know anyone who is an adult who watches it. They got Raven acting like she’s a teenager on there when the show is focused on her kids. Disney is just screwed the fuck up.
Exactly! Same thing happened with Boy Meets World. The original dealt with real issues, the reboot was like some Hannah Montana remake.
I watched it when it first came on but because of that same reasons you gave that’s why I stopped because I’m like OK I should be for all the older audience because we were watching it and lotta the younger kids don’t understand much about Raven because I didn’t watch the original raven they were around with the original raven came out

What a damn mess of a year. This was the only new show I was really looking forward to watching this year. I knew it was over once Hilary announced her pregnancy. Oh well. RIP Lizzie.
We were so close to having this. Disney really blew it. This reboot of Lizzie wasn’t marketed towards kids now, but to us adults who watched her as kids. With Hilary working so closely on it, it would have been awesome and so relatable, not cheesy like pretty much every reboot so far.
Now i know why Disney canceled Girl Meets World

I just found out about this today and I got so excited when the first thing I saw was the teaser trailer and now I found out that it was cancelled! After they had filmed and told the public about it! I feel that they should’ve put it on Netflix or hulu or som instead of canceling it! You shouldn’t cancel a series after you tell the public about it. Plus, there are rated R movies on Disney plus so why not put it on there? Ik earlier I said it would’ve done well on Netflix or Hulu but it would’ve also done amazing on Disney plus because there are people who are mature who have Disney plus.

Disappointing, but given Disney is stuck in the past, and cannot bare the thought of a 30-something Lizzie McGuire of having sex like a normal adult I rather they pull the plug on this revival rather than getting a watered down product that just exists to milk money from fans' nostalgia.

Im so mad and sad about this news, but also proud of Hilary she did what she felt it is correct , we are not teens anymore and we wanted to see Lizzie living adult experiences not acting the same when she was 13. Disney doesn't understand that we grew up and Lizzie as well.
The reboot was the main reason why I got Disney +!! I'm just going to keep my subscription, it's cheap for now.

Well theses things happen. If Disney didn’t want it, they didn’t want it. You know how controversial Disney truly is. They put disclaimers on classic movies that were found racial impaired being they were done in the 30s, 40s 50s And 60s but can have an issue involving adult situations. Walt Disney himself wasn’t even a great person either you know. Disney needs to realize that these situations happened many many years ago and we can’t control how those movies were created. Nobody ever found them racist or inappropriate back in those times. So Disney I beg you, change your attitudes about inappropriate adult situations and racist situations because it’s sadly ridiculous that a show like Lizzie McGuire was truly an impact to Disney history of tween shows not being rebooted because of adult situations, but other comedies are ok with the adult situations. Look at Boy Meets World for example, there were adult situations in the series involving abuse, drinking and sex and it’s ok to air on Disney nowadays but back then they banned those episodes of Boy Meets World due to those situations but air them to this day on Disney + again. Look at even The Simpsons too, they have nothing to do with Disney whatsoever yet they put practically every episode on there as well. Except the Michael Jackson episode. Disney truly needs to stop nitpicking what shows are ok and what are not. That’s why Hilary Duff wanted to put it on Hulu instead of Disney Plus but Lizzie McGuire was a Disney show so they wouldn’t allow it even though Hulu is also owned by Disney?? Disney owns the rights to the IP though, it couldn’t happen, it’d have to be like a “spiritual successor” if any other company was to pick it up

B X NOT ME! We have The Proud Family, Kim Possible, Lilo & Stitch, Emperor's New School, Replacements and other old shows you can relive. They just won't be going forward with new episodes and plus were gonna be having American Dragon soon.
Disney use to be an epic server source. But they started going down some time after 2010 for me...Shows that they air now are completely ridiculous and not in any way in connection to real life situations. And worse then that is that they make new versions of already made shows for no reason what-so-ever. Like just replay the old show you freakin' idigts. I never have understood that one.
