Hello, does the bait seem to stay alive until it gets dropped? I was thinking about this drone or a boat drone to drop bait. I was thinking the boat would keep the bait more fresh. But dragging them through the water would stress them as well.

Bloody spectacular day you had there Paul.. Do you gut, fillet prior the salted ice ?

Depending on how long the trip is, we would iki then salt ice slurry for 10-20 minutes before loading on to ice, whole.

I notice ur using spinning reels. I’m guessing that bait casting is a no go?

We just find that the line comes off easier/safer off of spin reels. With overhead reels, the spool spins as the line goes out. With the speed of the drones, the chance of a tangle increases. Tangles in braid can be a nightmare, so we use spin reels

If we had any mishaps we would have put it up. If you set these up right then you shouldn’t have any issues, same goes with any drone
