Kool Kewl They were in different age divisions. So Chloe, won in the junior category while Maddie got 2nd in the mini division. Sooo Maddie lost to someone else.
This was very sensitive subject matter and Maddie honestly portrayed it flawlessly. She emoted so much both through her face and movements and her technique was great!
This is one of the best S1 solo! Glad you posted it!
I love that this dance and Chloe’s dream in a star are in the same episode because they are my favorite dance from each of them!

i dont usually cry over any dance but this solo and knowing the meaning the abby put behind it just hurts me so much
her face at the end, she really felt what she was dancing. in her head it was real. she is a method dancer
i’m still in disbelief that this got second. but i will forever believe that if maddie had performed this when she was a little older it would’ve won, i think the judges deemed it too mature for an eight year old,
I don't know, I don't think her technique was great here, but I did think it would win the 8 & under

It’s just one of those dances that makes you feel something. For me, I think this is my favorite Maddie solo. It just made me feel the emotional struggle of a hard life, not knowing why all of this is happening to you and just wanting all of it to be over. Very reflective of people who commit suicide and it was really executed in this dance.
Beautiful, it always makes me think of Gabriel Fernandez. May he rest in peace

Maddie had the drive and determination and also the dedication to the team. She really did leave off and on the last few seaons but for the first many she was there and working patiently waiting for that big break.

The only thing the person who won had better, IMO, was choreography.
In terms of technique, control, emotional connection, and overall performance, Maddie was better.

This is Maddie's best dance EVER on Dance Moms. Everything was PERFECT!!! Her technique was so good but the one thing that move this dance to another level are her emotions and facials. My favourite parts are 1:05 and 1:01.

Sometimes I wonder how Maddie can pull of such emotional faces. Whenever I try, it just looks Cringy and it looks like I’m smiling..Maddie can make her eyes, eyebrows, etc, look like she is about to cry.
