    Waited several years for my Jeep Wrangler JL, but unfortunately it took too long........!! It was not so smart to show the bumper on a show in 2019 and sell it end of 2021. Love the bumper, it’s the best looking one, for sure! Greetings from the Netherlands

    I added a similar style bumper by Rugged Ridge. The Venator bumper. Multiple pieces of stamped steel rather than cut fold weld. Much lighter and hid the winch a little better but you have to dismantle the bumper to change the winch line when necessary.😞 No plastic except for the fog light bezels which fell out eventually. I left them off as it looks better without them anyway! Cheers mate! Good luck on your adventures we'll be watching here in the US.

    Looks top notch Dan. The hoop should give some good protection to the radiator from the roos. I have the same Ultra Hook on my Power Wagon. It isn't janky like an OE Warn hook. No cottter pin to cut up your hand., and the rubber pads lets it sit snug up against my fairlead. Also, the pin area is big enough to accept the 7/16" steel cable that comes with my M12000.

    Hey Dan, great video! Any idea how heavy the bumper is? Doesn't have to be an exact number but maybe in comparison to the stock steel. AEV haven't got that info on their website yet and I'm trying to decide between this and pure aluminum.

    Long awaited bumper indeed, thanks for the video. I had one of the first Rubicon's setup by Dave back in 04'... AEV has always matched my appeal on styling and functionality for Jeeps. I have been eagerly awaiting the release of the EX bumper and mine should be delivered tomorrow. Question is, I didn't order the AEV lights or any for that matter to start with and wondering how much disassembly would be required to run wires through the hoop if I fully install the bumper first and then go back to install the lights and route wires?

    Did you have any trouble threading in the M12 bolts on the front of the bumper for the EX wings?
    I currently have the center piece on, both EX wings on, but can't get the superior M12 bolts holding the wings on to catch the threading on the main Belmont properly. Did you retap those or did they just line up?

    I’ve looked at this bar, the off-road animal bar and arb. The aev bar looks good, but im concerned about the many components and it really looks like it blocks the radiator too much when spotties are added for Aussie conditions. Will be interesting to see how it goes. I’m going ARB on mine… (when it finally arrives, that is). I had one on the jk and had no issues or any damage whatsoever with a couple of decent animal strikes over the years. If feel if you hit roos on the aev it’s gonna break some of those plastic covers and the many pieces will be a weakness.

    two questons. What's the net weight gain or net weight loss vs the Rubicon steel bumper? And that hoop for sure covers up the front camera, not to mention, that hoop and lights block the radiator. that's no bueno for me here in CO. So what's up the upside of this bumper vs the stock steel one? better approach angle? better skid plate? noticeably lighter?

    • @capt.stubing5604
      @capt.stubing5604 2 года назад

      Good questions, the AEV website says its compatible with the front trail cam. I have the stock steel bumper with the Warn Stinger loop, with a BD 10” light bar hanging under the loop and the camera is fine. You can’t see straight ahead but you can see fine at a down angle to see where your wheels are going and over the top of hills.

    • @KansasSlim64

      Yeah, I don’t get it either. That factory steel 10th Anniversary style bumper is fantastic. I also fail to see how a plastic covered stamped steel bull bar provides better radiator protection than the steel tube bull bar he already put on. It just blocks more air flow, especially after stuffing those giant lights in there.

      @@TheRoadChoseMe Stronger than the steel tube you had before? I’m extremely skeptical. I like your work Dan, and the way you reason through challenges. But regarding this bumper, unless you just prefer the look of it, I think you’re wrong. I have the 10th Anniversary bumper on my JKUR. My only beef with it is the weight. That’s the only reason I would consider replacing it. And I know removing the ends isn’t an option for you, but that cuts a good chunk of the weight right there. The ends are surprisingly heavy.
