This is a good example of a band that don’t need to change their sound to stay relevant in this day and age.
I don’t think we’d want it any other way. They are the best
Tru
Absolutely agree, know them for about 15 years and couldn't be more happy that they stick with this extraordinary style.
I disagree the contrast in vocals is a night and day difference compared to albums like ashes of the wake. I like it, momento mori was a meh. Though that's to be expected with experimenting.
@@chunkymunky4165 i agree with the contrast in vocals but what i meant was they are still maintaining their sound as a whole. There’re lots of bands out there that changed their sound over they years so they could get a bigger fanbase. “Experiment” with new sound they say. Bands like LOG are the rare ones that are still sticking to how they sound like years ago. Not that they did not change at all, but a few seconds into a track, you know it’s LOG. Unless people never listen to them before.
I swear his vocals keep getting better every time!
It's ridiculous how consistently great this band has been for such a long time.
@_Decadent _Descent I just got into them about a year ago and I'd say they have evolved (or to some people devolved) in general they still have a very similar sound to what they had early on but I feel as time Randy's vocals have evolved a bit and the music did get a bit less intense in some spots, but I'd say in general they're still very heavy in all regards. They're not one of those bands that just does the same thing over and over again and it gets boring, but at the same time they're not the type of band who tries too hard to experiment and ruins their sound for a few records.
They're very consistent. Almost too consistent...
This song makes me want to break in someone’s house and toast all their bread and put it back in the bag

Definitely have some bad songs. But they're solid. But I personally haven't enjoyed an album since wrath
@@ryankent2791 Sturm Und Drang had some bangers on it. 512, Overlord, Engage the Fear Machine, Embers...all good song's. Resolution also had a few good one's with Desolation, Ghost Walking, and The Number Six. It's all subjective though. "Good" music is different for everyone. I will definitely say though that I didn't like the last self titled album whatsoever. It was just really bland and uninspired. You could tell Chris is no longer there to give his strong opinion and challenge thing's. Their singles were decent but every single deep cut was absolutely forgettable. This new song Nevermore doesn't really do it for me either. At this point I just have to come to the realization that we most likely won't get another Ashes of the Wake lol.
Resolution was a crap album. Only good song was 'straight for the sun'. And that's Exactly where to send the rest of that album too after listening to the first track. Long live wrath. Sacrament and ashes, in the Defense of our good name. This is crap.
So ther like pizza?
Year after year, Lamb of God gets better and better. Love this shit.
Lamb of God never disappoints. A reason why they turned me from rap to metal/rock music.
There's only this direction
1 down 3 billion to go
I regularly listen to both. Don't have to be exclusive in my experience or opinion. I just keep it real.
Yeah, I still listen to some rap/hiphop from the 80's and 90's but the heavy metal/rock music completely took over back in 2000 when I saw Lamb of God live for the first time. Since then it's been history.@@bamse7958

I met the singer skateboarding in a holiday inn parking lot at 2am back in 2007...his advice for songwriting inspiration was "look to your job, or look to your girl" lol
With this thought process, all songs easily make sense.
Knowing someone who has written many songs. Living and working with them, watching his songs develop. Knowing the personal facts of nearly every situation they experienced. We were just constantly together.
The dude was dead on. Many songs are written about women or work. Whatever those may be.
She’s all yours now so deal with it!
The dude just screams into a microphone. Makes it pretty easy.
This is my new favorite album. Log never leaves me disappointed.
Art Cruz plays like the ghost of Chris Adler. What a goddamn groove! If anyone has a proper detailed ear for music...nothing touches Lamb of God. They can introduce any new kind of influence or style into their songs and still make it lamb of god and make it goddamn!. From mathcore to Mastodon.. I hear it all.... And btw. Randy Blythe is a goddamn poet.
Crushingly epic, the dissonant chords remind me a lot of those first 2 records. Can't wait for the new record. Horns up boys!
Exactly what I was thinking.
Yeah those cords are fucking nasty! 🤘🔥🤘
Not exactly sure what a dissonant chord is, haven't picked up my guitar for a few years now and a lot of the knowledge has left me. But I have been a fan of this band since before Sept 11, and this sounds nothing like anything from their first 2 albums. Please explain
@@brendans1983 like the chords that happen before *hanging on a* or the chords at 4:20 are dissonant, kinda like pinch harmonics. reminds me of as the palaces burn or even the burn the priest stuff
They never fail to deliver! that was amazing.
Long time ago my friend asked me: Do you know any band who never change their style and continue growing? , Yes! Lamb of God.
i think they got better once Art Cruz joined the band
I'd argue they changed their style a bit but only once and it's a weird technicality with the first incarnation being Burn the Priest.
But generally I think the major evolution between albums is lyrical content and the story behind songs. But otherwise, I'd say it's a fair assessment, it's just always quality. A band where I just buy the album and am not disappointed.
The have changed their style for sure. They have gone way more bluesy with their guitar work, their tone has certainly changed and they have a lot less 0s in their songs. From Scarment to the album after it they have been a different sounding band. It's amazing, as it a positive change for them imo.
I mean that's a lie, they experiment with their style all the time. There's a lot of theirs that's mid.
Im still happy they experiment, and they're *always* putting out music. So even if they put out something you don't like, very soon they put out something that you do like.
@@adamkadir3803 Who's lying?
Love the clean vocals at 1:47. I wish he would sing like that more often. Sounds great with the drums
I wish he would sing like that less often.
One of the most consistent bands out there. These guys don't have a single bad album. And it looks like Art has given them something different to work with and you can tell that their style is being honed to perfection now. I also like the little nod to John Carpenter. 6/5 Such a _slapping_ title track.
I noticed the John Carpenter vibes too. "The Thing" meets "Escape From New York"
I’ve always appreciated that they sound exactly like this live as well. Some singers can’t keep up with themselves, Randy is amazing, and the guys play great every time
I disagree about Art, he is playing exactly like Adler, as if he memorized Chris' most iconic patterns
Art is cloning Adler's playing
the last album wasnt good at all but well see about this coming one
The only part that sucks about this is that I have to wait 4 months to hear the rest of it. It's going to be epic. (luckily I'll have a new Kreator and Arch enemy albums to hold me over.)
They might release 2 more singles to tease the album. Most bands do it lately.
We’re probably gonna see 1 or 2 more singles before the album drops, it’s been the trend in music lately
Yes, 2 more songs will definitely come before release. The Arch Enemy record was postponed to 08/10/22, I also ordered it on vinyl.
Check out Hangman by Spite. That album is gonna rip.
And I Prevail new album.
Yes this is what we all need! Thank you L O G!
Excellent. Love the shipping container! Lamb of God always delivers quality metal.
I listened to only a couple of their most popular tracks but after omens I’ve been on a binge! Such a great band
I love this track! Randy shows his beautiful deep singing voice, monstrous growls. LoG's signature gritty guitar tone will never get old! And I love the bluesy feel of the riffs!
Jezzus!! They keep crankin em out don’t they…
When Randy's clean vocals came in that shit blew me away. Wow. Can definitely tell this song is heavily inspired by Edgar Allen Poe.
I thought it might be since they revealed the name of the song, I was correct. Thanks 10th grade english 🤣
Even the cover for the single is an skeletal Raven

Blythe is consistent because he is comfortable with hate/darkness etc. It's not a phase, it's not an illness, not the result of some drug addiction...it's just who he is. Therefore it will never end.
Some of us are like that.
I love this song, it's super aggressive and carries a lot of what I loved from the self-titled.
I've been listening to lamb of god since I was in high school great song. 😊
Absolutely fantastic. Another bad ass LOG album on the way, just two years after the last masterpiece. Love it.
It's a testament to how good they are when they barely change their style album after album and never go stale.
My thoughts exactly. It sucks when your favorite bands "evolve", usually it's for the worse. Much worse. Have you heard the new Parkway Drive? Sounds like pure Skillet + Three Days Grace radio rock. Very depressing.
LOG never let's us down. Legends.
@Roth I don't think it's awful or anything, just very disappointing if you grew up with them from the beginning. I wish they "evolved" a different direction, like death metal or something. Their early work was incredible, definitely check it out, especially their first 3 albums.
It's the story of so many bands playing out yet again - their first album or 3 are epic and they gain many adoring fans from them, then they change their style and it pisses the fans off who made them successful in the first place.

Loving the guitar tone on this release. It's the perfect blend of crunch, clarity, treble, and power 💪🏼
It's one thing LoG always did right, the guitars. The albums vary a bit in quality musically, but the guitars always sit amazingly in the mix, right in front of your face that is, and it's a big part of their signature sound. All the way from super gritty and trebly low-fi production on As the Palaces Burn until their newest self titled. I'd say the only odd ducks out are Sacrament and Wrath which are a bit too muffled and muddy in comparison to the other albums, they somehow managed to regress from what was ground breakingly good fucking tone for its time on Ashes of the Wake.
