In fresh water you don't need to use a beach mode if you don't want to. You can use any mode you'd like. Being on small Canadian beaches however, you need to do the water. That's where the most stuff will be if anything. Especially on a hot day! That beech seems pretty sparse though, a hot day and nobody is there? Hit the popular beaches if you have any. As for politics........we have exactly what we've voted for.
