Everybody is saying they were dying laughing. In hindsight yeah it's hilarious but when I was watching it live for the first time my mouth was on the floor. I could not believe that he locked that guy out and pulled that shirt out and put it on. That guy wasn't even wanting him to touch the bag that the shirt was in. LOL I realize it's fake now but I have to admit I thought it was real initially
I heard that Jeff Ocheltree used to etch something on Bonzo's drums above the badges...... I've a blue/olive badge 402 with something etched on it........! Does anyone know what was etched and what other badge serial numbers are known?.....
Just to be clear to the viewers that his snare is coa not cob or cos....i know alot of people think its steel but from memory i dont think ludwig made a steel supraphonic, unless bonzo got one custom made. Which could be on the cards, it would be interesting tho what a supraphonic would sound with a steel shell, just like all high end steel shells i guess.
Cheers Carlo u just checked out that video in question and you're right that's a 26x14 green sparkle. It also appears to be a 26 stainless steel next to it. And DG is a massive Bonham fan, wouldn't surprise me.
Hey Terry, there's a used Ludwig super sensitive on sale for $300 at my local guitar center. Looks to be in ok condition except for a little rust here and there, and one of the levers on one side of the mechanism is missing. My question is do you think it would be repairable and or worth it for the money? Thanks
Terry - I like your instructional videos a lot. As a huge Zeppelin fan - I began to get very emotional seeing John's stuff on the countertop. Would you please clarify with the audience - was that really his sweater & did you really rip it ? Was the rest of his items authentic as well ? PS: John Bonham used Promuco 2Bs - not Ludwig.
***** Mick Hinton Bonzos drum roadie gave a great interview with Rhythm drum mag in December 2003 i quote "Every tour i'd phone Ludwig and ask for a gross (144) of sticks. They were Ludwig 2A hickory. i'd go through them and put the bent ones to one side and throw them out to the audience .sometimes i'd bang them on the table to make it look like he'd used them.
I deliberately put that John Bonham DID NOT use Ludwig sticks - in an effort to try to get Terry to respond to my questions, which he didn't. It would be respectful & professional - Terry - if you would reveal, whether or not - that was John Bonham's sweater that you ripped. Anyways - John Bonham played Ludwig 2B sticks up until some point in 1975 or 1976 - then he switched to custom made sticks called Promuco - made by a guy named Eddie Ryan. Bonzo's Promuco sticks were also 2Bs or 5Bs. Simon Kirke of Bad Company used Promuco sticks as well. John Bonham Promuco sticks have shown up on eBay auctions several times over the last 10 years. Sticks from Led Zep's 1977 US Tour were Promuco sticks for sure.
I have the two stainless steel Ludwig stand toms 15 inch an 16 inch with Remo pin strips on the top only they ring they add off with a slingerland snair an black 26 plastic bass an 18 floor tom with picies an zildgen my spelling might not be on point but I am 40 my dad got them for 1400 second hand win I was a year old can someone please tell me what I'm looking at
One for the over 40 nostalgia fan boys. 402's are still readily available. Still Bonzo was a cool drummer. A collector will love this...and someone will make a mint from it.
Terry! I'm BAK! Not that you cared... but HEY.. Mr. Keating you have OUTDONE yourself with this one! You ARE THE BEST!!! Just living throught you vicariously when you gripped that snare... It was almost ENOUGH for me! You luck buggah! ^__^
your welcome Mr. Terry Keating. well just that if you get the sound right and stuff. i would actually want to purchase a real DVD from you. cuz i am a Bonham freak too. i love the way he plys the drums. so am a Zeppelin freak too.
Terry could you ask paul to ask mick,,,if he knows how bonham did his doubles or if he has ever seen him do it surely he has seen how he did it....please please love you long time...
Hi Pyro-Paul is unavailable and Mick Hinton has passed. Remember, Bonham used doubles and buzzes, but very importantly, he he possessed a mastery of a french-gripped single stroke roll. On almost all the earlier recordings-both live and studio- Bonham's fast singles are what are often thought were doubles and buzzes. For example, Danish TV and Supershow's Dazed and Confused's are laden with it!
@@bonzoleum hi tez yeh sorry i should of been more specific,i really wanted to no how bonham did his doubles with his foot on the kick....thanks for the reply and yeh his singles and doubles were out of this world.on moby dick you can see how he is holding the the sticks and manipulates them all with the fingers and wrist....looks like there is hardly no effort at all...
@@bonzoleum hey tez im after a second hand classic maple standard, with a 26/14 kick,i have seen some over there in the past and would save some money buying second hand, just dont no how much postage would cost,so if you no anyone selling let me no...cheers.
This is the best thing I've ever seen in my Life!!!! Holy shit you actually touched the same items as the HAMMER OF THE GODS!!!! You are the luckiest person alive!! It's puts the lotion on the skin!!! Lmfao!!! You're the man Terry!!!
I can understand your excitement but damn dude, taking the sticks without permission and tapping on the snare like a fucking child or grabbing the sweater? I don't blame the guy for being nervous. Have some fucking respect!!
you should make dvd sessions of how to drum all the Led Zeppelin tracks. i mean even though you say you never was in the studio with Bonham teaching him how to play and stuff. but i say you did. and if you ever make a dvd lesson, i want to boy one
i mean play the drums. plus i have really learned how to play some Zeppelin tunes. i mean your a bad ass drum bonham teacher Terr! dam i wish you live next door cuz i want to learn more. and more, more, more, more Bonzoleum.

I do know that many of the the original drumset Stainless Luddies I've owned have has etched serials. Not sure about Bonham's.
Aw man it was just getting good! It would be awesome if there were a part two with you just extracting Bonzo stories from him.
Best Terry vidéo !!!!!

So funny!! More please Terry!

Where's the glove(s)?! I thought that was a roasted chicken up top of the snare lol! Hilarious as usual Terry! Seasons Greetings!
Absolutely gold, bloody gold mate haha
What size were his sticks?
Another thing... how do I get one of them Order of Bonham Lodge hats?!!! Funniest video I've seen in a long time! I LUV IT!!!

The video is meant to be funny. It was not John Bonham's sweater that I ripped. I apologize for any confusion.
bonzoleum Thank you for replying Terry ! I appreciate you taking the time to do so ! :o) Keep up the great work.
The shirt is obviously a joke, he locked him out on purpose for a joke too, and he would never destroy a shirt if it was actually Bonham's.

I wonder who correctly guessed Dave Grohl in the comments when you first mentioned this in your "8 drum intros" vid in January. :)
The only thing that could've possibly made it better would have been an appearance by Grave Dohl himself ;) lol @ Buffalo Bill line
