I would honestly love to see you play Doom RPG SE with the DRLA and DRLM mods. With maps of chaos it becomes something else. Though it's a bit of a bugger to get running at first, it's very doable and with the new update coming up the biggest bug will be fixed that causes a random freeze. Altogether it's a blast to play and someone's still keeping it alive and breathing.
You absolutely need to try Chasm the Rift. This game wasn't so popular at its time, but I feel like it's not fair and exposure on your channel would give it justice. As a Quake fan, I dare to say that this game is better than Quake in some aspects. I've recently replayed both games to see if my childhood somehow made these games look better, but Chasm the Rift stunned me once again. It's just something in between Quake and Half-Life 1.
took me a while to adjust and get into Quake, but where that game shines is on the expansions and fanmade maps... Things like Arcane Dimensions (the most obvious choice...) and Scourge of Armagon would blow Icarus' mind... they are that good... don't bother with Darkplaces, stick with Quakespasm, disable all kinds of texture filtering (not even mipmaps) and enable brightmaps... Boom, there you go...
here we go... create an AUTOEXEC.CFG file inside your Quakespasm directory and paste this inside of it... just to make sure it loads, copy the same file inside of the id1 directory as well... scr_centertime 6 alias pixel_on "gl_texturemode GL_NEAREST; bind o pixel_off" alias pixel_off "gl_texturemode GL_NEAREST_MIPMAP_NEAREST; bind o pixel_on" bind o pixel_on alias overbright_on "gl_overbright 1; bind b overbright_off" alias overbright_off "gl_overbright 0; bind b overbright_on" bind b overbright_on gl_fullbrights 1 gl_texturemode GL_NEAREST gl_overbright 1 After that, you press O in game to switch filtering on-the-fly... GMOTA v1.4 has been released, it is so much better than what I am seeing here... you should retouch this mod! Scythe was really fun with this mod.
