I'll never understand why Sony has so many fanboys on RUclips. But it's nice to see that they made some improvements. Hope next time they have auto HDR finally, cause it improves almost every shot on Sony phones. and they need good portrait modes.
The Sony generally has a more natural camera look, perhaps lacks absolute HDR capability and consistency in some areas. Samsung photos can look good, like the first one, but then can also bring an oversaturated and processed photo with too much lightening of shadows etc. Samsung video in auto seems more usable. I'd like to see if using the cinema pro app on Sony would help with dynamic range. Unfortunately it will still have stabilisation issues. For natural photos, Sony. For ready made shots, probably Samsung. If there is a way to force 1.5 aperture in the daylight you could get defocusing blur like the Sony (it has 1.6 aperture).
First up, David from Btekt is one solid dude! He has also been kind enough to show off some of my photos with the Xperia 1. it is soooo difficult to choose a winner here. Sony just seems to have a more natural look, whilst the samsung has much sharper images during daylight shots. I think if were talking cinematography, you kind of have to give it to sony, wich is a shame because i have the note 10 already :/
Note 10 night mode Will never be as good as Sony (or as P30 pro). The reason is simple: ISO range with sony goes to 3200 ISO range with Samsung goes to 800 It means that Sony captures 4 times more light than the Samsung. Thus, to capture the same light, exposure is shorter for Sony (1/4 of the Samsung time). Thus, Sony has more chances to get a sharper photo or to get brighter photos in darker environments. P30 pro iso range goes up to 409600. It is 128 Times more sensitive than the Xperia, 512 times more sensitive than note 10. Are we still questioning who is the winner? Before judging which phone is better, reviewers should first take some photography lessons. Also: the real quality can be checked in the imagine data in the raw file, not in the jpg version of the picture..
If someone is going to take photography lessons why bother learning it just for a phone? May as well buy a whole DSLR/Mirrorless camera. Stabilization is one thing, overall video quality is another. It is no wonder that the Xperia 5 has much better color reproduction and a more natural approach to exposure (Note 10 was wayy too bright for the scene).
On the first Pic alone. In the 100% zoom, you could actually see the bottom left fern tottaly smudged in the Samsung. Definitely not an effect of the bokeh as there's no separation..
I'm a korean. i reckon sony has better color, samsung has too strong color. however in terms of videos, note10's ois did great job. sony xperia has nice design and i think it is better than note10. plus sony don't need sim pin for take out sim tray which is super handy. samsung provide a/s service not only korean stock but also foreign and international version. while it is so difficult to fine sony service center, sony doesn't provide repair service to foreign, international stock.
I like both phone and i am using Sony Xperia 5, but interesting fact is Xperia 5 has Samsung camera sensor for Wide Angle, Telephoto and Selfie and some samsung phones like galaxy S7 uses sony imx camera sensos for its camara 😉
Sony Xperia 5 just looks better to me, I guess it's just preference. Plus, the Sony Xperia 5 had only a been out for a month, it needs a few updates to be at it's best, just like the note 10 has aged a few months.
They seem to have lost some of the ability because of dropping the megapixels from 20 to 12 - less space on the sensor for the 4k rectangle to move around in. They need a more optimised stabilisation now
Note 10 if you like filters or anything that modify the photo by force to make it look the best, Xperia 5 if you want to capture real world and its real colors.

Much better now, the blogger are neutral in comparing those two phones and let the viewers decide which of it has a better camera.
the 720,1080,4k test sure win for samsung, wow the sony was struggling so much
Well Sony has done pretty well here. And its color reproduction is totally natural compared to Note10. But it sucks in HDR. Thanks for the video bro
I think Sony need to do auto HDR on the next one...definitely
The HDR photos were better than the Note10+ photos tho. The photos the Note 10 won at were with HDR off.
@@WhatGear This is something they seriously need to implement ..or also add HDR toggle on the main view finder and not in manual mode.
People have voted that Sony has better video too 😂 Sony Fans are true fans 😂
Stabilization and HDR in the video is better in the Note 10 still they voted for the Sony 😂
Stabilization is one thing, overall video quality is another.
It is no wonder that the Xperia 5 has much better color reproduction and a more natural approach to exposure (Note 10 was wayy too bright for the scene).
Johnny Since Note 10 has properly exposed the shadows as well as the highlights. If you want you can easily increase the shadows in post.
It's almost chemical some Samsung pictures,, radioactive glowing
On the first Pic alone. In the 100% zoom, you could actually see the bottom left fern tottaly smudged in the Samsung. Definitely not an effect of the bokeh as there's no separation..
On the mushroom shot, just tap the mushroom on the sony screen. it will shift focus on the mushroom not on the twig.
Xperia has good colours reproduction, but samsung is better in dinamic range, stabilization, sharpness
i like sony color.
Great video. Can ask you which better for you 🙏🙏
I think the Note 10 does a great job automatically. The Sony has amazing potential but sometimes needs manual tweaks to be better. It's a close call.
Thank you for onset answer
I'm a korean. i reckon sony has better color, samsung has too strong color. however in terms of videos, note10's ois did great job. sony xperia has nice design and i think it is better than note10. plus sony don't need sim pin for take out sim tray which is super handy. samsung provide a/s service not only korean stock but also foreign and international version. while it is so difficult to fine sony service center, sony doesn't provide repair service to foreign, international stock.
I bought the Xperia 5 ^_^
How was the battery? How many hours you get till the phone is in low battery?
Is the camera app od sony fast and userfriendly?
Pictures are better but i heard the app is not fast but a bit laggy
Looks like steadyshot on Sony hasn't been activated yet, I'm using Xperia Z5 it's still pretty stable
I like both phone and i am using Sony Xperia 5, but interesting fact is Xperia 5 has Samsung camera sensor for Wide Angle, Telephoto and Selfie and some samsung phones like galaxy S7 uses sony imx camera sensos for its camara 😉
The Note 10 records really nice HDR videos but they look kinda unnatural
Xperia dynamic range always down ?
"In this case they are performing similar" Dxomark says no...
Dxo is pure bullshit and should be ignored.
Xperia 5 looked better when i watch your videos on my tv
Still Xperia
Sony Xperia 5 Wins the Battle , very Natural and Sharp photos, congratulation Sony Xperia !!!
Sony Xperia 5 just looks better to me, I guess it's just preference.
Plus, the Sony Xperia 5 had only a been out for a month, it needs a few updates to be at it's best, just like the note 10 has aged a few months.
SONY IS THE BEST 💖🖤
Do the cinema pro app tutorial for your next video
I prefer Sony's natural photos but what is up with the jerky image "stabilisation" on video?
They seem to have lost some of the ability because of dropping the megapixels from 20 to 12 - less space on the sensor for the 4k rectangle to move around in. They need a more optimised stabilisation now
@@RennieAsh Their stabilization was always bad.
Vlad Morosanu not like this. It was actually pretty smooth EIS on previous phones. Eg. The front cam shows how it used to be
Note 10 if you like filters or anything that modify the photo by force to make it look the best, Xperia 5 if you want to capture real world and its real colors.
8:58 Manual HDR makes waay too much noise as I can see, and Xperia 5 images just have a very poor HDR balance. I was a hardcore Sony fanboy, but these are just one of many reasons why I switched to Samsung.
Do u like samsung images.....its adding more colours.. sony produce the natural colours... thats why i switched to sony from smsng
@@pavannaik8682 Not really. If you take the images in RAW format you'll get a natural looking image. Samsung AI is better than Sony's, but both phones can make natural images.
@@zex450 s...previous Sony mobiles struggle to produce detailed images in low light...but Xperia1 and 5 are best..they maintain colour and detailed in low light...and Sony is best to take the images in manual mode and and auto mode...in heavy light ...Samsung adding more coloured photo..that's very different from real images..
@@pavannaik8682 Oh...i've seen "how sony has changed" 😂
Already watched tons of tests, comparations and reviews on DXoMark and similar. I'm afraid that's not the case. Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 are still behind the competition. Their HDR is just horrible and images are quite noisy when cropping. They also struggle with sharpness, exposure and image stabilization on video recording.
Samsung takes natural photos if you disable AI and use RAW format.
Sony has far greater photo images shots
Xperia 1 vs xperia 5 will be great
Very nice...i know that sony need hdr in auto mode. But the manual mode is very easy I use it and it make me more creative...one thing is true, the colors of Samsung is so much fake, look like a fluorescent color, like their some oled screen, that true, yes or not??? ;)
What's the song?
