Bringing back the tribunal system would be such a great idea for league of legends. In Dota 2 they have a tribunal system (called overwatch) where high Elo players with a great communication score (Honor system in league) moderate trolls not trying to win, and something actually happens. You can even see full perspective, so if someone is tabbing out flaming in chat. Pinging teammates or even just full blown giving up... So you can give punishments to someone ruining the game for everyone else.
It could even be useful vs scripting because you can see mouse movements of players in Dotas tribunal system so if someone was dodging or predicting things (skill shots). You could see if an Ai was doing it or an actual player instantly.
Would give Riot a semi-valid excuse for all of the privileges we have to give Vanguard lmao. Simple solution to one of the common criticisms of the Tribunal would be to ensure that only high Honor leveled players are able to participate.
Dont know if you were around in the times of the Tribunal, but they had to change it to bring it back. There is a reason it got abadoned. Player were punishing people just to get the rewards wich came with it. A very small percentage were actually watching and judging. Algorythms should work better in that case, but they cost a good amount of money to get them working and the licencing aswell.

Riot should've banned that draven, but also you deserve getting chat banned for an ablelist comment that riots company clearly doesn't support. For chat, I think theyre getting better with appropriate punishment. But I agree, their gameplay bans are not as strict as they should be

I got two weeks for restard and first game out of ban I get a support who types in chat: I will int mid.
I thought he was joking but game starts, he gives 7 kills to Zed, while I went supp with Kaisa and smashed bot lane as Panth supp, then I went mid, Kaisa was able to 2v1 and I smashed Zed. Jax and I carried that to win and all I said that game, when Zed asked why is Sera trolling, I wrote "Aut*sm" and then muted all, because two week ban and after game was met with perma ban notification. I pleaded with RIOT support but was met with a hard "NO", even after I told him you know that I will buy a fresh account and smurf on people, ruining their games. He said that's not allowed, I said I know it isn't but you will not stop me, just like you don't ban inters like Seraphine. He said he looked at the game and confirmed that Sera trolled and inted but my only remark is so offensive that I deserve perma. Then on fresh acc reached dia 2, while having 1000 game on my banned and couldn't make it to plat 4. Which opened my eyes at how game is rigged once you get hardstuck mmr, it's just nearly impossible to climb with all those trolls, inters and overall bad MM.
P.S. I monitored every single player I reported over tickets and requested humans. I only send tickets for people inting and trolling. Going 0/12 as Naut is perfectly fine as long as your deaths are useful. But just running it down deserves a ticket. Every player (4 tickets in total) was active for 3 weeks, I daily took a look at their match history.
Yesterday I played 3 soloq games with my buddy in low emerald lobbies. I never felt as hopeless and useless as those few games. I dont even care about matchmaking and smurfs, the game has too much damage. Good luck outplaying someone who's ahead. They will just smash their head on keyboard and deal 2/3 of hp in seconds while running around like a maniac. Those 3 low emerald games literally had worse quality than silver-gold games I head back 3 years ago. I felt like I was losing my braincells every time our team was araming midlane in "highly competitive" game. Arena feels more like soloq than soloq itself. Riot overcooked their game.

Emerald is the worst fucking elo ever. There are so many different skill lvl players thrown into this bullshit elo. From previous gold 1 players to previous diamond 4-3. How can this be competitive and fair?
When people get ahead, ask 3 questions:
1) Are you a carry? If yes, you will be focused. Thus, build steraks or maw of malmortious if AD, or Rod of Ages and Zhonya if AP.
2) Are you a tank? If yes, build damage. If no, see nr 1.
3) Is your entire team feeding? If no, see above. If yes, fuck it, build full damage and focus on sidelines. Abandon ship, abandon your team, and just play for your own good. Even abandon your premade, if it comes to that.

Riot August said recently during one of his streams on Twitch that League of Legends had its peak (amount of players) a couple years ago which means the game is declining. Riot Phreak also said that from now on (next patch) they are going to balance the game around statistics from China, but I do believe that also someone else linked to Riot said that the game is declining in the "West".
So Im pretty damn sure the overall player number is declining or at least stagnated (China making up for the loses in the West).

My only worry with a league tribunal system is that league players are assholes. Especially the higher up you go i genuinely dont think half of them have the mental capacity to put themselves in someone else's shoes enough to do this. So im sure most members would be very heavy on the ban option.
Simple solution: gate tribunal behind Honor Level/account ban history.
Either way any solution is better than their retarded automated ban system that literally only looks if you went 0/20 for 10 games straight before banning you. There are so many ways you can intentionally lose the game without actually "feeding", and those can only be seen by actual humans reviewing the footage.
League players are assholes because to them it is "improper" or "impolite" to be bad at the game, and they are literally powerless to do anything about the shitty teammates they get stuck with. If you're in gm and you're in the same game as 4 emeralds, its literally like putting lebron with 4 college kids in a real match.
If I can be in a tribunal, I would absolutely analyze the fuck out of peoples gameplay. its sort of like internet literacy-- people (especially the higher elo you go) can just tell when others are trolling. Its also often the people who ARE good at the game that end up trolling the most effectively; because they know EXACTLY what they can do to avoid detection while also causing the max amount of misery
I actually have the opposite experience. There are relative positions in elo (E1-D4) and (D1-Masters) where you will run into assholes but generally I find the higher you go the more chill people are.
I do agree however that it would be extremely hard for tribunal players to judge troll vs nontroll games fairly due to their understanding of the game vs a lower ranked persons understanding of the game.
im pretty sure that was a massive problem with the old tribunal. a high % of players just vote guilty no matter what. because they just liked to get people punished.
People say that tribunal is the solution, but here's the thing. We need a tribunal system because league players are fucking animals. And those are the same people who would be on it. I really do not think it is the silver bullet that people make it out to be/
I knew riot lost their marbles when i was system muted and lost honor because i told someone to die in aram (you know aram, the game mode where the only way to reset and spend your gold is by dying?).. i had to message riot to get the mute removed which they did tbf but still

As a lvl 600 player, i can personally say that i would usually always buy a skin durring a holiday or 3 day weekend or on my birthday. Sure, i had my main solo q champs, but I really never got bored because I would learn a new champ and for a while that champ would be my favorite, like Gnar for example, and i'd buy skins for gnar. There's and endless amount of skins. I don't play Gnar in solo to climb, but i still buy lots of skins for him bc he is one of my favorites. As I learned new champs and expanded my pool, i'd buy more skins in tandem. I take the opposite stance here and I would say that because i had tons of skins on my main, it made playing aram so much more enjoyable. I LOVED playing all my different skins in aram. I quit playing because of smurfs and I actively told riot that they aren't getting another penny out of me until smurfs are dealth with. In my case, I can attest that I would deffinitly spend more money on my main because it's my main, and no, it's not like getting blood from a stone... It's fix the game and then i'll buy stuff. I'm not spending a single penny on a smurf and i'll die on that hill, i don't care what rank i am.
If they wanted to sell more skins, they should give us seasonal maps or rotating skin themed maps. Like spirit blossom map, a cyber-punk map, the winter map, or a halloween map!

Straight to the point - League has been around for almost 15 years and the matchmaking is the worst it's ever been so I don't expect nothing to change. As we all know it's a team game but with very specific roles. It's absolutely ludicrous that four players on the team can try their best and perform well at their chosen role, doing everything possible to try to get the win. But the one player on their team who runs it down 0 - 20 while typing toxic abuse in chat etc can lose the game for the whole team making it a completely unwinnable, then everyone ends up losing the SAME amount of LP in RANKED! CRAZY.
RANKED - If LP gain/loss was based on performance and not ONLY a outdated (2009) WIN or LOSS then good players would inevitably climb and bad players, especially trolls will obviously fall down in to the piss about ELO called IRON, where they all compete to see who can INT and feed the hardest. This would bring a lot more people to RANKED because it's a much more rewarding experience IMO.
How can the game be marketed so hard as a TEAM game, with ROLES. When the only role which has a impact on gaining or losing LP is "TROLL". EVERY player should be rewarded on THEIR OWN PERFORMANCE! Even when you get the disgusting top laner who purposely runs it down 0 - 20 and hands you a loss, it's OK because you played 13 - 1 and had the most damage, most gold, and over an 80 percent kill participation so you will be gaining LP, while that troll who single headedly lost the game for the other four players will be losing a ton of LP because he played like absolute dog sht in a toxic manner. Can honestly say that I think this will also stop so many people tilting because their entire ranked experience is not held hostage or in the hands of they ever so reoccurring toxic players.
Bring the game in to 2024 FFS.

the pinacle of stupidity that this developers demonstrated is that u can get chat restricted for asking enemy team for reports when ur jglr clearly typed in teamchat "gl im afk farming" (proceeds to do so)

because asking actively for other players to report the toxic guy ruining the game apparently " ruins" the experience for other players. Meanwhile the guy that actively sabotaged the game on purpose after dying on river when u pinged him to not go is still allowed to play normally...
Funniest part is it dosn't matter if u fill report in game or if u write a ticket to riot itself... They just dont care.

I had someone ban my champ in select and admitted in the chat that he will troll and run it down because we some how deserve it. He then he pretended to act innocent all game and portray me as the toxic one on our team to the enemy team in all chat and those idiots actually believed him and reported me instead. Imagine if we had tribunal back so that people can actually look into games to see what actually happened instead of having this stupid bot that auto punishes you for anything.
the problem with doing that in all chat is I've had MANY cases happen to me where I lost lane, played bad, and someone types in all chat "report X they called me a racial slur" meanwhile I literally didn't type at all the entire game. The league community is so disingenuous that whenever I see people ask for someone to be reported, I just report the person asking instead because in my experience it's the toxic/inting players trying to get other people reported, not the other way around.
historically, it was just not worth asking for 9x. riot treated 9x the same as 1x.
only starting ~2 patch ago, 9x does something, BARELY. still, mass reported players would need to accrue A LOT of mass reports to ONLY get a warning with no penalty.

13:50 I actually have gotten *one* notification that somebody was *punished* (not banned) for intentionally feeding once. I wish I took a screenshot. It actually just happened 3 days ago. However, it's literally been once and only once. in the last few years, all of the other ones have been for inappropriate chat. And the ratio would probably be like 200+:1 or something.
So inters can get punished, but like, it barely happens. And I think it happens more when everybody reports the same person for inting. Because the person who was punished was somebody who pissed off the entire team, didn't type once, and went like 0/12. everybody reported them.

Man, I wasted my time on sending tickets and requesting human to talk with and all three times I was met with standard corporate answer: "We will look into it and punish the player accordingly". After the third time I manually sent a ticket and monitored activity of those players (who were active for two weeks after report and me monitoring them every day), I went back to customer support and literally told him that he as a worker is just as a piece of sh*t just as the inting troll is, who gets to ruin solo q games for his amusement without being punished. Also told him that he should be ashamed for not punishing a clear example of such players since I monitored if they are active. He apologized and said he can't disclose how they punished him, but said he did. I told him he's lying sack of sh*t and I'd fire him if I was his manager. I got perma banned, when such inting troll tried his hardest to lose the game but got carried by me and top, got called "aut*st" by me. That was the only word I wrote that game, then went mute all (since I came off 2 week ban over "fck you") and focused on winning. That moment was infuriating. Customer support told me "well you shouldn't have called him that", ah, man, he/she pissed me of more than perma ban. Nowadays, chat is dead silent most of the time and there is nothing you can do when troll ends up in your team. Can't even ventilate in chat.
If people actually ran it down they will get banned. For some reason riot doesn't know how to punish griefers/soft inters
In my experience, trolls do get banned, but you had to manually go to the riot portal and open a ticket with plenty of supporting evidence and screenshots, and keeping it very simple and straight forward for them, as they are tired, overworked and speed reading. In 80% of cases, I would login after a day or two and see a confirmation that a punishment was issued, and it would juice me up with justice for a few days. 😄 It was highly tedious, but so worth it to get that feedback.
Lots of the problems can be fixed with making it so you can only have 1 account! It would force people to be less toxic, not afk, smurfs and boosting. Simple fix. Smurfing is the biggest problem, Ruins matchmaking and is unfair to people who are legitimately that rank. Make it so you can only have 1 account and are forced to play in your own rank. And if you wanna play with friends play norms! That's what they are for. And as far as trolling, if you know you can only have 1 account you're less likely to troll knowing you can't just go make another account and avoid any punishment. And the riot needs to ban on time not games. Like first offense banned a week, 2nd banned a month and so on and so on.
The game is not as bad as ppl claim it to be. I stopped playing it only because i had nothing else to reach after chall and playing competitively for a little(I revealed that team sports are not rly my thing).
I can assure you anyone can reach high elo if you're somewhat good. If you don't reach it it's not the system, sorry. Ppl just have absurdly dogshit mentals. They play it like a socials game and barely focus on the actual game. You don't need fkn coaches, youtubers, twitch streamers, all you need to do is download your little replay and watch it, note what was good and what was dogshit garbage, keep doing the good things, think about what else you could've done in the bad shit. At the very max compare it to a pro what did they do in a similar situation(soloq game not pro game). What did they DO, not say. Think about why did they get to that conclusion and how what you initially thought is complete garbage.
Enjoy high elo, you can thank me later. And remember you don't need to pay half your(or your dad's) monthly salary for disgusting posers that call themselves coaches. Jk there are some good ones, but you don't need them unless you're challenger and planning to go pro.
in response to what you said at 13:55 about trolling penalties, i had a message after the game that was like "weve issued a penalty to a player in one of your games for sabotaging the team. heres 20 consolation LP and 2 autofill shields" and that felt great cause i had teammates that went 0/16/0 in BOTH games i played. i have a ss, i couldnt believe rito would do that.

Do you guys even know that you gain ZERO LP from this "gift"? You MMR is the same after all since it counts as a loss despite your lp gift. So they will take away your gifted LP by giving you less LP in your next wins and taking you more away in your next losses😂
I got my first chat ban after i accidentally miss typed like with a K at the start. Didnt even know it was a slur. For the rest of the season, even after i got unbanned, i got temp chat restrictions for just complaining about my team normally, stuff I said. But my main issue is that i couldnt appeal my first chat ban, even though in context you could see it was an accident

Too much damage. Can't carry because everyone one shots you. Can't strategize and outplay the opponent because it's whoever one shots you, not who plays it better. Everything boils down to that. Easy fix, Riot just needs to take every champion in the game and reduce their damage by say 10%. The patches are a joke, the only broken champion they actually nerfed this patch was karthus. They refuse to touch jhin, caitlyn who have been one shotting everyone for months, or garen having the highest winrate in the game in every role.
Losers Queue is real, and it's tied to reports. If you love tahm kenching on Riot's serrated dirk, explain how I have an account with a 32% winrate over 95 games in gold, and another account with a 68% winrate in high emerald over 134 games. Same player, same roles, same playstyle, same champions. And no I do not tilt queue or rage quit.
They won't ban inters or griefers. Try it yourself, get an account, run it down, get like 1 assist or kill and hard grief, see if you get banned. Pick syndra and just follow your jungler around resetting their buffs. Play anivia and block your team into their deaths or spit them into the enemy as tahm, whatever. You will never get banned.
Another huge problem is that League players do not want to win. Go into a game and start saying you want to win, ask them if they want to win, they will legitimately freak out and say it's just a game and to report you. It's like some strange NPC interaction. Next time your team is flaming you while you're carrying them, ask them if you should leave, they will tell you to leave. They do not care about winning, only ego.
Stop flaming junglers. I am so sick of getting blamed every game when we have 2 drakes to 0, 6 grubs, and I'm up 3 levels. Yet I'm being griefed or flamed by the entire team for not ganking their losing lane against full health champions that can easily kill us, or when I did gank they didn't even go in. Or better yet, when I'm spam pinging them to help drake and they don't and the whole enemy team comes and takes it, then I'm flamed for having no drakes. Just in case you're wondering what I'm reported for in low elo that puts me in losers queue, it's just for playing the jungle role. And by the way, Riot says it's against ToS to say to report someone, enforce this so I stop getting spammed all game in all chat to report me for playing jungle.
I'm in gold mid main, was emerald last season. everygame I have to stomp 1v9 and consistently i get 20 kills and sometimes still lose because i'm not chall and can't carry with 2 people who don't or refuse to contribute. worst gaming experience i've ever had so now i cba and play random champs cuz i know im not getting back to emerald 1
accounts nowadays btw are between 15 and 30 pounds since vanguard and the crackdown on botting
i've quit league now and only play when irl friends want to play that trash game, i've swapped back to playing world of warcraft and ark (another trash game but anything is better than lol rn)
im rather frustrated by smurfs rather than trolls to be honest, simply because the troll might stop trolling, and play to win, while smurf will crush you, you learn nothing, you waste your time, and you get frustrated, sorry but im reporting smurfs along the way just for my sanity, go to your main accounts and prove yourself there, if you want to boost your ego, you can crush players in normals, no need to ruin ranked games as smurf
Akined to how Korea requires citizenship or something for an account, make it so you need a phone number for an account and you can't reuse the same number for multiple accounts
spoofing phone numbers has been readily accessible and easy to do for about 20 years at this point. the reason why South Korea uses identity asa well is because spoofing numbers is far to easy, that and they also enjoy licking the boots of authoritarianism.

Tribunal imo, would have to be players over a certain level (maybe at least level 500) who are maintaining honor level 5, and have not been banned previously. Basically a seasoned (not a smurf) player who has a clean record.

Wouldn't that be counterproductive, tho? After all. The reason SoloQ is the way it is is because the people ruining the game actually manage to avoid getting banned/losing honor. And people also report each other for bad play.
It would have to be people handpicked to be people in high enough elo (they can't troll to climb and they cant smurf there) that also have high honor.
There are easier and more automated ways of doing that without having to resort to the Tribunal. There wouldn't be enough people.

@@UninstalledLeague Bruh, do you know how unfair that would be to genuine fresh players? What they need to do is fix the damn ranked distribution system. With all the stats provided in every game, system can detect a smurf and lift him out of low elo ASAP. Drop him in slightly higher elo than his personal performance in games (win lose system sucks because I've had fresh acc with 5/5 losses, despite me being the most fed, most cs in every game but system put me in bronze 4, then on other getting plat 1 and climbing to Dia 2, then had 11 games in 3 days, 11 losses with two trolls in 8 out of 11 and me winning lane hard 9/11 games. But when you have one or two fed in your team vs four fed in enemy team, with two trolls inting to lose, it's just impossible to win. Sometimes it happens but very, very rare.
@@vanjamenadzer lvl 30 to play ranked is a joke. The fence is too short. Too many people buying greasy grimy degenerate smurf accounts for under $10. Systemic rot. Should be at least lvl 100 to play ranked. Like coach curtis says "people highly underestimate the difficulty of the game".
Most of the issues you bring up have been addressed by dota 2; all Riot needs to do is do what they do best and steal from Dota and it would fix 80% of these issues instantly

I've played this game every day and never been chat banned. True level 30 smurf accounts are rare in game. You said that you get false banned all the time but then talk about you flaming in game with the whole team and how it's not toxic. Peak elo emerald. I just don't think you know what you're talking about. How do you actually expect your tribunal system to work? Only like 1% of the game population is D2+ and there are tens of thousands of reports every day
I see them all the time in gold elo, some level thirty something player that mains draven and high gold/ low plat elo. You can think im making it up but idc. One game i had 3 level 30 players in gold

One time i got a 300 game chat ban. Took 2 years to get rid of. I made it 3 games and got another 150 game chat ban. 😆

Trolls and inters, ruin the game for me. I am rank 102 Hec, and I am silver 4 now. Peaked at Emerald. This game is not fun because of the trolls and inters, and I can't play games because they ruined it. I know I am good, I know I am better than 80% of LoL players Jungle. Yet I get the bad coin flip on my Main account. Paid for a Masters account, after 100 games I am almost grandmaster and I don't even want play it because I didn't make the account. League has lost its luster when paid for Masters. It showed me my skill is way above my rank, which means Riot is awful at ranking.
About the tribunal -- there are things I like about it, but:
1) it can lead to player A being judged way more harshly than player B, because tribunal judges can vary wildly, even if they're all trying to be fair. Some people are just way harsher than others. An algorithm that bans inters at least is consistent, applying the same standards to everyone.
2) if John play five games, maybe John see three people worth reporting. Let's say that one tribunal case needs five reviews. Okay, so then after five games, John needs to review 3 * 5 = 15 tribunal cases, to be "tribunal neutral." If John doesn't review 15 tribunal cases after playing 5 games, then he's creating a tribunal backlog, and others need to review even more cases to work through that backlog. So in practice, the tribunal just creates a huge backlog of cases because not enough people review the tribunal, and inters aren't punished quickly enough. Whereas an algorithm is quick, and can ban the really blatant inters incredibly quickly (it doesn't have to wait for two weeks for tribunal judges to review the case).
As for your "people don't falsely report others" -- some people absolutely do report people just for having a really bad game.

Just matchmake by rank. And have some bonuses that allow to skip however many pips you got winstreak (idk) It will be better than closed mmr system. And yes, I hate behind the scenes mmr.
Alternatively, screw ranks. Delete them from the game. Just have a normal "first come, first served" queue; and a better rewards normal queue, with mmr matchmaking by the game.
This video is pretty spot on. I had an account with over 8,000$ in value that had been there SINCE THE FIRST WEEK THE GAME RELEASED. I got chat restricted one day some years into playing league and decided i had way too much value in my account to risk it so i just stayed completely silent in 99% of my games, only ever typed in things to let teammates know what my plan was, like "path bot skip camp lvl 3 gank". One day i was in a game a great game at that my team was slamming, and the enemy jungler was just being an absolute troll running it down handing us the victory on a platter and i typed in all chat "sorry that your jg is being a moron". I finished out the day woke up the next day to a perma.
I went from no penalties, to a 3 day chat restriction, to a perma without so much as cursing at someone or spamming or harassing. I quit league for 3 years over that.
I knew coming back that i wouldn't put any money into the game again, but I made it a point to not talk in chat in any meaningful way, the only things I say AT ALL is "starting blue/red" "no leash" and then ping my movements in the jg. I still got a chat suspension somehow, and this is the most tryhard account i've ever had. I furiously sweat to try and carry my games and keep my chat to nothing more than what i just stated and yet i still got a restriction.
I believe their system is more than just keywords i think if people report you enough you just get punished anyways and riot sees it as "well something had to happen for them to report you and it happened enough so we're not really gonna argue against it"
ill tell you how to fix league. Literally just reduce the amount of gold you get per kill significantly and have objectives and minions be the main gold source. It's so unbelievably stupid that players who get trash kills from one guy inting and taking stupid fights gets to be 3-5 items ahead of their team and the enemy team by 20 minutes. Players should be getting kills from outplays, strategy, and knowing their champion better not from one guy having full build and the other have 2 items.
25:50 to be fair there are absolutely people who just randomly start reporting their ream when they get triggered, even many streamers do this. Although thats not really a good counter point to your point because you could probably quite easily detect that and stop taking their reports seriously.
In regards to your tribunal idea, it definitely sounds like a very reasonable idea that could work very well in theory. Although I have to assume that its probably a lot harder to actually implement in practice, otherwise I find it hard to believe why Riot wouldn't "just" implement something like that. One of the most important things I have learned as part of my studies is that systems that sounds great in theory are often far far harder to implement than one would anticipate. Thats why I am very skeptical of "simple wonder solutions" as a baseline. Although thats of course a very speculative counter-point, and even if an idea is more complex to implement that anticipated, that doesn't mean that idea is bad. And who knows, maybe the reason why they don't do it really is just... "skins"!!

The main character syndrome I believe is the primary intersection of so many things that create the negative experience talked about in these videos, and it absolutely is a syndrome that is a product of the game's design. Characters are overloaded and have created the expectation that a single person *should* be able to carry in any role in any situation, within any team comp. That was not the case in early seasons. Champions used to have very clear strengths and weaknesses that would rely on complimentary roles and teamplay in order to thrive. Now, those dynamics still have a presence, but why go through the trouble when you can just pick something like Yone, or Ksante which are much more self-reliant? And when everyone is playing a more self-reliant champion, everyone has the power fantasy of being the carry. This cascades into more FFs, and more toxicity and negativity because if someone isn't getting to play the game as the big dumb hero, then they would rather go next. I also feel this dovetails into engagement-based matchmaking, which is tailoring lobbies to cater to this mindset, and is why lobbies feel so coin-flipped and swingy. Rather than those moments happening organically, the game feels contrived to create those moments to drive engagement, and is why I think people feel less and less agency over outcomes of games, even when playing well.
In short the game has been designed into a sort of mirage to entice players that "maybe the next game is where I pop off", and matchmaking is holding the keys to facilitate that, and knows how to push players into playing as much as possible to chase that hit.

Whenever I duo on my other account with my one friend who is in bronze, the games often feel genuinely harder than I remember games in emerald being not too long ago.
It feels like there are quite a lot of smurfs, many players doing things far beyond what a bronze player would do, and many players especially on our teams for some reason have incredibly weak mental, they just leave the game after one or two deaths or over one or two insults from someone else on the team.
The most insane situations that really grind my gears are when there is someone clearly inting and griefing you game and then when you call them a fking idiot for wasting everyone's time you are the one getting banned and he gets to grief more games scot free
The main crazy part about the troll/smurf situation is how the grass really is greener on the other side when playing dota.
Ive never had someone run it down in my dota games yet the most ive seen is toxicity in chat where everyone still tries to win and a total of 10ish smurfs over ~600 hrs(all 10 were before the recent smurf banwave)

it's because your not forced to play in lane in dota also character scaling is diffrent the only true way to do way more damage is to become a auto attacker so mages spells don't 1 shot they have to combo you with autos, you don't have to sit in a losing lane you can farm jg through out the big map it is with out stealing to much gold and camps spawn fast, their no objectives that like dragon they perma buff the team their only temporary so no one is forced to leave lane if they don't want to.

I’ve had honour 5 every season since they launched it. Everyday I get multiple notifications when I log in that players are being punished for whatever I write reports for (some are well thought out, others not so much). Once people start typing, you can almost immediately tell that they’ve been chat banned before or will get chat banned in just a couple games.
Sometimes just asking people how old they are helps. Folks need to remember that they’re an adult and lower their blood pressure xd

Literally just do what CSGO does. Verify your account and let players opt into watching reported games. If a player has flagged alot of games and they turn out to be cheaters or greifers, their user score goes up and they get more validity to their claims.

Had a game last night I got autofilled as jungle but I can play the role no problem. I developed a pool of several champs that I could play in the role but I am an ADC role main. My top laner got ganked once by the mid laner and jungler and said the game was over and stopped trying to win. Granted my ENTIRE team was performing badly but this top laner was the only one being vocal in chat about this. Said I was the issue and I'm a shit jungle player, was gonna report me and that I should never play. Toxic stuff and was even trying to get my team and enemy team to report me cuz he was losing. Again I was filled but didn't ask for a switch cuz I don't mind doing it. He went 1/7/1 as Darius and I went 2/1/3 as Ivern and was dubbed the ACE on my team. Dude tried saying him doing 12k damage vs my 11k AS A SUPPORT CHAMP meant I was trash. Looked up the dudes match history after and there were so many damn losses. Even when he as the majority of the kills and looks like he's going to carry but runs it down and then blames team (watched a vod of his cuz I was done playing for the night). Looked up his OP and mine, he was 32% WR vs my 60% WR. But I was the problem. Thankfully both teams listened to me to check his match history and mine in post game lobby chat cuz some of them were going to report me over him. Some people are just really shit at the game and being a person. These are the players the game needs to get rid of.

There are two things I would just like to say about this. I think Tribunal is a big thing to bring back. CS.GO has the VAC Reviews where higher ranked players can watch replays of games of the person reported and it's a good system to have the community help with something the Dev team might not have time for and those higher players have the knowledge to most likely see if something is off.
Second is that I think it would be easier for players to enjoy the game if they would really play with only the rank/MMR they have and only changing if you do well in those games for it to rise and have you face a rank higher players. Basically like ranked, if you are Silver I and want to get to Gold IV, then you have to beat Gold IV players. It would eliminate the huge skill gap in some games with players that don't know what they are doing quite yet who are dying to the account level 400 Emerald player. It wouldn't make the game fun for the new player or maybe not even new player but rather players who don't have the skill set in this game yet. It would be better to look into the whole MMR and narrowing it down a little. I get games in ARAM (because I just want a quick game) where I'm playing against Emeralds and even Diamonds, while only being ranked Bronze (because I barely play ranked and don't grind it, I just play it when I feel I could have a good day playing it). So the MMR is completely off still. It's just a simple, if you play good, then you play with players in your skill set, if you have no clue what you are doing then you should get put in games with similar players doing the same, that way it will become a learning ground for them against each other.
Last 20 Match history would tell a story. There’s only been two times in years where I’ve seriously had a losing streak of 15 games over a week. Some close some bad. And turn around and have a long win streak etc. But you could tell clearly what champs I’m proficient with, or viewing aram history with it and see hmm this dude blows on jungle champs.. while the “troll” matches was a team effort of failure. 23:45
So, regarding the tribunal - no. We did not watch the game. We were given the chat log, stats and items. The replay system wouldn't be a thing for another 2 seasons by the time the Tribunal was retired. Chat Restrictions were implemented in the beginning of Season 4 btw, immediately after the Tribunal was retired. Also. Chat Restrictions aren't really false positives anymore? When it was just implemented, I got one from... pretty much not chatting ever. Haven't gotten one since.
I had a kid had to cut down my game time. Basically I didn’t play anything for about 2 1/2 years after my kid was born. I slowly got back in started with tft had a blast then I slowly started missing summoners rift and now back in hardcore. I’m enjoying the game and I feel a lot more mature than last time and handle loosing or stupid stuff a lot better. Slowly though I’m becoming annoyed agin but overall enjoy league better then when I stopped 2 years ago. I still stink and have dreams to make to gold emerald but I only play a few games a day.

All of the recent changes to league is so frustrating and tilting its impossible to have actual enjoyable games now. Saying a single word or pinging twice either gets you fullmuted by your team or chat banned. You ping your jg? Good luck being in an island for the rest of the game. You die once? Congrats you lose 2 plates and are now 500 gold and 2 levels behind. Matchmaking is a complete joke and the lack of communication makes teamwork actively detrimental. I'm straight up done with ranked and just for fun in normals or flex playing random sht. Riot is just incompetent.

I just want to say one thing, IF MMing is working as intended and is as good as other competitive games such as SC2 or even overwatch ffs (which it ISNT, lets be clear), then smurf que should exist. This is the basic function of a proper MMing system. If 5 master smurfs all make level 30 alt accs and que up and they start smashing games, im talking 50+ games all 90-100% wr, then the MMing system SHOULD FUCKING MATCH THEM TOGETHER. Therefore, these level 30 accs will EVENTUALLY get matched with or against each other and thus you have what is called a "smurf que". The fact that THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN IS. A. PROBLEM. Everyone who has made smurf accs know exactly what happens, and most of the time these "smurfs" are continually playing vs low elo players despite high games/high winrates and continue to climb to elos they just flat out dont belong. So you may have a legit plat level player in diamond or even masters from just getting lucky on win streaks from their one trick that also just so happens to be SS+ tier. But if you have a lvl 600 acc hard stuck gold for years then the opposite is true. at ANY time that player can just hop on a smurf and get to atleast diamond near guranteed, and once in diamond you can just 50/50 your games to climb.
This should not happen if the MMing matches them with actually equally skilled players and show that this guy is not where he belongs. 100 games, 90+% wr and you are still facing gold/plat level players but since you are riding the wave of LP gains rather than MMR you are actually placed in diamond with a plat or low emrald MMR rating. Its actually broken.

My idea for lvl 30 account was, since we have vanguard, make accounts assign to IP/MAC/Hardware and even when you have 20 accounts they all share same rank, if you INT / go 0/15 you cant play any rankeds (first ban 2h then 4h and so on), but you can play normals/ARAM.

I think a very important thing to consider is the time investment it takes to climb, or "reach your true rank". If you played 3 Ranked games every single day without fail you would reach 500 games in 6-7 months. Each Ranked split now is 4 months. Your rank will reset around the 350-360 game mark. To get 500 games in a split you'd have to be playing 4 games every day, with half of those days playing 5. That's likely about 3 hours if we account for queue times and short breaks, provided that games are all about 30 minutes. That's 3 hours of Ranked League of Legends games, every single day, for 4 months. That's a new torture method.

Your conspiracry theory of accounts is funny, but relateable: I otped Morde forever, have played for 10 years, and am Iron 4. Interesting to hear your idea of keeping otps with certain champ skins in low elo to make smurf accounts and skins. I HOPE and would like to believe this isn't true.
I'm Iron 4 but have like, what, 6 accounts? My OG account was permabanned. I took the game too seriously and I became toxic. It was halariously bad and well deserved. I like to make accounts mainly to have that account have a name if I make a funny one, ie: AnakINTSkyfeeder, General Griefous, Worst Morde NA, TheTiltBlade, Darth Feeder, ect. I think to keep up with a funny League Stars Wars themes these would be funny names: Qui Gon Jhin, ObiWanEloMe, Jar Jar jinx. I have made some new accounts for the sake of freeing my destroyed elo tho. For that, given that your 1st Ranked MMR comes from your Norms and PvE games, than I am wanting to have one of them only leveled up to 30 from bot games alone (not botting, but playing against bots to get lewd kda and cs), and THAN play ranked to hyper inflate the MMR and try to maintain it as a mere Iron. I was Bronze 5 before Iron existed, and peaked silver in s5. I started in s3.
Regarding bans, last year I'd get banned all the time for nothing. In fact, I have like 5 Riot Support tickets just to get unbanned. You see, I'm really bad at the game, even after studying it. Anyhow, if you're actually wrongfully banned, you can get unbanned. They seem to have updated the new system; its not as sensitive as it was, but yeah, you can't say the work "retarded," even in arena to your own friends in a private chat. In terms of having really bad games where you die a lot, well. . . it happens. Sometimes, you can't help but die over 15 times. Imagine playing a champ and you just get permastunned and abra-ka-diddly shat on all game. It happens. It's easy to see when someone is running in a straight line, or intentionally being a prick (ie: breaking freezes, luring enemy to where you're backing, not fighting and only ksing, proxying your lane, staying in lane to cut exp gains in a solo lane) compared to when someone is doing thier best but perhaps are getting countered, outplayed, or outskilled. I say that going against better players is a good challenge that forces one to improve faster, usually. Some low elo smurfs are unreal. I don't even understand how a human can react and click that fast, quick, and precisely.
Regarding smurfs from an actual Iron player, smurfs exist. noone who is supposed to be in Iron should be able to get and maintain 8 - 10cs /min, kite abnormally fast (it looks like ratirl), and dodge on a dime. We Iron players have to beat that. It's a normal thing that I see every day. They are 100% there, but not every player is, and not every game has one. They are real, tho. I've met plenty of smurfs in Iron. Masters, Grandmasters, Diamond, and 2 Challengers. in Iron. Lol.
Regarding dying a lot: Oh man, as an Iron 4 player, let me tell you, my gameplay is feast or famine. I'm really confident with my main champs (Morde, Briar, Veigo), and do have a bad habit of going in too deep and it gets me killed. But not always! Imagine you were bamboozled with 3 and 4 man ganks constantly despite this. They chain stun you, you can't move or use abilities, and you die on repeat. Games like this happen. (On Briar it happens if you unga-bunga use your w, the self taunt, without your E, which is what animation cancels it to stop the self taunt, than you just run at them even if they go into tower, lol). Now imagine a game where you die to being over-confident and than they focus you in armies to keep you down. That's another way one can have a shit load of deaths, lol. Additionally, when one learns a new champ or class, there is a learning curve that must be taken into consideration.

i've been at league since 04 dota 1, and league alpha 08, been sponsored, i'm twitch partnered, i can say pretty much 100% of what you're saying is true, and that the Tribunal and an active forum were when the games development and community were peak. Player feedback is always more insightful than the ppl who're busy doing the work to deploy the game changes.

I just started rank I got placed in iron 1 I’m ass. But what am I supposed to do when I have a 0/15 temo top and a bot duo combining for 2/16. This was an actual game. I was jungle, I went 9/12/4. I was flamed in chat for saying I can’t do anything with the team. Lost 23 LP and questioned why I decided to start playing ranked this week.

Every match in emerald feels like a coinflip,it's so weird. You totally dominate the enemy team or they dominate you,it's not so common to see 40+min games with close fights. And what's up with the mage items?:))) Burn damage,burn damage,burn damage very creative riot games,almost every mage rushes blackfire torch or lyandri's torment.

I’m genuinely trying, this is my 6th account, I’ve been playing since 2017.
SoloQ for me actually is SoloQ, I’ve never had a friend to climb with but I’m mechanically good with any champ, I do struggle a bit with macho because there seems to be unwritten rules that were passed down from gen to gen, and I’m watching tons of guides, I just can’t do it solo, the server is filled with polish and Czech players that just want to throw games, they don’t take ranked seriously. I die often because I try to save my teammates even if it means that I die, but that’s what I’d want them to do for me, I’m honestly lost, I don’t know how to climb.
So I watched the part 2 video, and now this one, and I think that there's a crazy amount of blaming that you do about smurfs. And undoubtedly, there are smurfs who genuinely grief, but there are smurfs that just play the game offrole, maybe listening to exactly this podcast, and just don't perform spectacularly well or poorly.
On top of that, lvl 300 accounts do pop off sometimes, and yet you say when a smurf does well it "ruins the game" but when the 12-0 toplane sett isn't a smurf, then it's a good quality game? How does that make sense.
You also act like normal players on their mains never grief games, but they do. Lower elo players throw games on purpose all the time, yet you have confirmation bias that when you check the account it's lvl 36, and just ignore all the times when it's someones main that they just grief on.
And finally, low elo game quality is always bad. Low elo players have worse mental and grief a lot, because if they had better mental, they'd be higher elo! Low elo players have huge variance in their gameplay because they are inconsistent and don't understand the game well, which means they genuinely go 0-13 without even inting! You can't just blame all bad game quality on smurfs, the community has been calling everything below top1% elohell since season 3!
I have received 1 warning my entire time playing league (since season 3) and it was for saying “fuck, I suck” after I made a bad play. Yet people will intentionally lose games, even write in chat that they “don’t care if they win” or “you deserve to lose” and nothing happens to them. And yes, I have been screaming that lvl 30 accounts are what is ruining league. Implement the phone verification for ranked! I am %100 on board with that idea!!!
The thing with the tribunal requiring high rank isn't that good IMO since a lot of players can know the game through and through, but not be able to excecute well. Also, they would have to be shown the game's rank since bronze/iron games can be quite the fiestas.
That said, I've TP'd on myself few times on accident (and seen people in challenger games do it too) sometimes you just fatfinger, but yeah, it's obvious when it's on purpose
my main acc was banned for toxic behavior becouse i got easy mad when i got trolled (wich basicly EVERY game happend btw) so i insulted them but no ofcourse only im getting banned and not the full team that everyone trolled me everyone played with smite (fun fact we didnt get ANY objectivs with 4fking smites!) just fun

It's wild how much worse the game has got lol I still really enjoy watching game play and play the odd mobile moba here and there just to scratch that itch. I drew the line in like 2018 when I was so happy tk hit my diamond promos and they were shot down due to literally 3 games IN A ROW. First one trolled because I got the lane he wanted. The next two games were afks and I remember sitting back in my chair and saying, "This game isn't even worth the fun" To my buddies and haven't played since. What a circus of a game. Mind you this was after basically ignoring all the previous toxicity. It finally got to me lmao
Ranked games and climbing could be improve if:
1. Delete emerald - letting players with silver game knowledge meet diamond lvl players is stupid in many ways. Keep players stuck in diff brackets until they learn or perfect their games.
2. Create a lp system that actually rewards you for applying the fundamentals of game like vision, objectives, towers, waves, farm etc. along with a tutorial about fundamentals and macro like when to fight/ when to play slower/ why you should save ur resources before an objective and how to do this, communication, what to do with a lost lane etc.
Give a guy that play macro and fundamentals +10 lp and give 0 if they dont. Dont give lp just because is a win cause if you win with 3/18 how this even helps you long term to learn something about the game other than your team sucks, some champ is broken and is jg diff?
Same thing applied to the other scenario where u go 18/3: Dont give lp just because its a win cause they will think only kda matters wich this is why most ppl hate the game and are stuck in elo hell, cause they value seeing themselves 4/0 rather than seeing 4 towers/drakes/barons down.
This way we sort out players that want to play the game. Punish them if they dont apply fundamentals and macro even on win and lost games, so they know there is a right way to play the game in ranked and kda value less than good applied macro and fundamentals and good calls. Reward them if they lost the game and still tried to play macro wise and fundamentaly corect.
Put those who dont care about most basics things in the game in a lower bracket, put the better ones in a higher one and dont ever mix them up unless they start ignoring the basics get on a losing streak or if they understand the necesity of this kind of knowledge and start to play acordingly.
So we could have 2 kind of people: those who play the game and those who fuck around, but without mixing them. So the only difference between good players will be their micro knowledge aka 1v1 skills and mechanics, and not a huge amount of macro game knowledge and fundamentals.
Make the people climb the ladder because they understand the needs of a game or situation , not because they got in a team with a smurf, got carried, or got an enemy afk. Let people truly learn the game and every why and when/how about it.
3. Remove the smurfs or limit them to 1 account and remove toxic players. And when i say toxic im not talking about the chat (cause u can mute them btw) but the guys that goes 0/1 and starts run it down or troll or int because ego. Give them one chance for acting like a normal human being not 1.000 chances and if they dont play the game and start trolling just insta ban.
I don't think your math for the tribunal works. The average league game is somewhere in the ballpark of ~20-40 minutes. So, you are asking players to set aside that much time per instance of reported trolling. You'd have to offer something as a reward to incentivize ppl to do it. Firstly, I doubt the average diamond player cares too much about the game quality of bronze or silver, it really doesn't affect them. So, the number of participants would be super unlikely to match the workload. At best, this means the trolls will have an excessive delay before action can be taken, which wouldn't be hard to outpace. At worst, you just have an infinite queue. And if there was a tangible reward, you'd be incentivized to half-ass it. If you give too many false positives, you get banned from the system, so, you can just spam false negatives. Second, it's possible to game the honor system by honoring premades. It's less effective than with strangers, but it's very doable. I seriously doubt it would be hard to set up bot accounts with honor 5 if it was perceived as beneficial.
Here's how I'd probably do it. You'd need code to track statistics and stuff, and I'd probably want to weigh the factors. Like, some potential criteria:
- does an account have a win/loss rate outside of the standard deviation? and by how much? if it's way outside of the standard deviation, the account is probably either a smurf or a troll.
- what percentage of players report this player for inting per game. higher weight could be given to the enemy team or players with higher honor levels if the concern of people flaming you over skill issue was much of a thing
- does this player have a history of verbal harassment?
- what is the player's average stats compared to the elo they're supposed to be in? you can't be shit at everything and still climb.
- check if the player is in a duo queue, if both members of the duo queue have these patterns, flag it
- how old is the account? and how active is it?
And there should be other tests that aren't immediately coming to mind (and some of these should probably be vetoed on the basis of "I made them up on the spot.") But if a high enough percentage of these conditions are met, then send it off to review. I think the margin for error thing is important, tho. Because it decreases the odds of false positives. They'll still occur, but that's what the other checks are meant to help mitigate.
Your video focuses on banning 0/20 tops, but not my 1/1 teammates who do 1k dmg in a 40 min game. Also that 0/20 split push yorick is still doing more work than my 1k dmg teammates who don't even pull someone to a side lane. League is just fundamentally not designed for a fun solo queue experience, other MOBA's don't have this problem -- champion kills don't have to make the enemy stronger for example, some games you're the same power level the whole game, and in league you're not worth gold after 5 deaths anyway. But you defy human nature and make the game unfun if the answer is that after you die 3 times in lane you're not allowed to play the game for the next 40 minutes and have to sit at your tower hoping your teammates can carry you with no personal agency. The game should just be reengineered so people always have something fun/productive to do throughout the game, otherwise they are just hostaged and not having fun. Compare this to Arena experience for example where games are short / fun and if they aren't you're out fast -- people are never toxic there.
