Yeah, this is not even debatable. Everyone sat in the loading screen before and wondered why a team of plats is playing against a mix of silvers and golds or something similar to this. Or why a full team of on-role is matched against a team with 3 autofills. Sometimes its rigged in your favour and sometimes its rigged for the other teams favour.. and sometimes you actually get a fair game, those exist too but its crazy how much time is just wasted on autowins or autlosses.. its just not fun.

ranked is miserable not because its rigged (always has been for a long time) but because you no longer have any satisfaction for playing correctly when you see that you play a bad champion that you always played and liked playing vs someone playing urf in classic or because you cant enjoy laning when junglers are perma ganking, etc etc , what i mean is that the pace of the game is so fast now that its a clown fest not worth to climb
funny that u say the game is very fast paced bc i feel the opposite, the broken state of tp in solo lanes and the nerfs to snowballing over the years has rewarded scaling so much more than playing in the edge which for me would be much more fun
True, you have to put so much effort into playing some champions just because of them being older champions where as the newer or just easier can use a 4th of the effort and and 4x the results, for instance Garen and Akshan are perfect examples of this. Garen just presse's his 3 buttons and you die instantly, Akshan just E's the mid wall and 3 shots u.
Rigged ranked and bad champions in 2024 sounds like a lot of cope. There are some champs on the weaker side but no champ at all is just straight up weak and keeping u hardstuck if you're a better player.

Damage creep is at a nearly all time high, people die within milliseconds of a fed character showing up on their screen. Your point on "scaling vs snowballing" sounds extremely misguided. Perhaps you do not know how to exert your leads properly when you snowball? What's really crazy to me is that Riot really seems to expect enough players to play 500 Ranked games in a season to attain their "True Rank". I feel like I played a lot of League this past year and I didn't even play 400 *Normal* games. Maybe adding on other gamemodes like Arena or ARAM and occasional Ranked games I might have done 500 total games in an entire year. Even at 3 games a day every day that's an insane ask. It would take almost 7 months to reach 500 games. And getting trolls and smurfs and AFKs even just one in ten games would be enough to discourage most players.

It is like this in unranked, too. I am against people farming for level 30 who have literally admitted to being like diamond smurfs after going 20/0 in 10 minutes... I also constantly either get matched against people in like silver and gold when I am definitely not that good. I have a 15% winrate in my last 20 games, and in every one of them, my team has been an average of 700 levels lower than the enemy team. Like what? Why?
I was emerald, played a shit load with the -50 for deranking. Had a bad losung streak and now im in silver 1. I know i can get back to emerald but i dont want to play 300 games to get there with all the trolls and idiots ill be getting.
I don't know if pre-level 30 games would affect your match-making, but in my main account, I'm in Iron II, in my other account, I frequently paired with Platinum and Emerald players, sometimes even low Diamonds. Almost never I'm against or I have in my team someone lower than gold. This is because I just played like 160 rankeds in 2022, when I was truly awful, and then in the last two years very few ranked games. Almost only ARAM and normal games. And as I don't play more than, like 10 games per season split, this ended up happening
I remember someone saying there is 40% of games you lose no Mather what you do, 40% you win no Mather what you do and only 20% that are decided by your own performance. This includes prettymuch all of the mentioned points in the video. As in your games will be miserable, some will be for your enemies and if you play long enough you climb … eventually
I think we can agree, Riot needs to invest in better systems of recognition of smurf play. By tracking things like: Actions per minute, Camera movement, Speed of navigating shop/buying items, Vision control, Backing timers, Skillshots hit, Damage, K/D/A, etc. Those factors can be added together and compared to average players of the same rank. I don't think smurfing can't be removed, so get smurfs facing diamond/master players quicker!
Things wrong with the game: 1. Champion power creeps keep growing. Aurora's numbers are already scary as fuck, almost every champion before needed to be nerfed at the start, they still can't get a grip on K'sante, Zeri, Yummi, Smolder. They either completly gut those champs or they are overpowered. 2. Mantality of playerbase is completly wrecked. "play for win play for win" promoted by Riot at every turn went so hard on so many that there is no game mode where you can actually chill and play casually without ripping your veins out. 3. General power creep keep growing. Champions are different cathegory. Items, runes, summoner spells. Items deal shitloads of dmg, execute or amplify dmg that is already high. To counter it they make tank items more tanky which is something people are whining about so they give dmg items more dmg. Tank items dealing dmg scalling with tankiness is just on it's own a goddamn joke. Adding even more items that deals dmg (we had Liandry's now they added Blackfire Torch which is the exact same thing except stat profile). 4. Ranking ladder means nothing. You can't expect anything from any player because they will get upset and report you. Someone can't use pings to signal that his lane opponent is missing? Don't worry, he'll spamping you the moment he will get gangbanged. 20 sec to dragon and your botlane decided to go for plate and recall? Don't worry, they will blame you for not doing objectives. And those are the most basic things that happenes every game. But you decided to call your team a band of idiots for throwing the entire game on the dumbest Baron attempt in the history? You will get your chat restricted because you made bad players upset. As long as you don't swear on chat or run in the straight line on enemy nexus dying 20th time you can be the most clueless animal and still enjoy ruining other players games. 5. Communication. People getting upset because you can spamping them, well, they still can do it. Now they can ping you 7 times instead of 15 but they still can do that. But when you try to let your team know what to do 7 pings is no enough and since getting chat restrict is the easiest thing to achieve in this game you essentially can't effectively communicate with your team. 6. Riot inconsistency. Calling someone "retard" is bad, you should be banned but throwing left, right and center "you are mentally ill go to therapy" without any real qualifications is cool. Someone goes afk for 5 mins in the middle of the game while his premade is begging to not surrender without telling you he will be gone for 5 mins just to play against him the very next game like nothing wrong happened but in the meantime Riot openly say that if you have bad connection (nothing you can do about it) you should be banned and not allowed to play their game. Laners running after jungler in attempt to steal his camps or junglers going on someone's lane to cash as much creeps as possible putting laner in bad spot isn't THAT bad but you running the game down after incident like this? Oh, no, no, no Riot don't care who starter, you HAVE TO play for the win no matter what. Making champions Lore LGBTQ frendly, putting as much trans, gay or bi things in the game as possible and highlighting it, putting some rainbow emotes and icons, now making autistic champion highlighting she's autistic but in the same time ignoring literally any other disorder in existance. And that's only from the last month or so.
The only games I lose are against 60%+ wr smurfs, and even when I lose those games I’m still mvp. I miss older games where match making was based on nothing but your visual rank, kda and all other stats didn’t mean anything at all, and it made people care about the win so much more.
But basing it only on visual rank would make the smurfing problem so much worse, a bronze 4 players that always 0/5 and is awfull at the game could be paired against a bronze 4 smurf that has 90% winrate and hard carries every game
After realizing by my own all of that explained in the video (which is very accurate) I stopped raging at the game, and I started to be more objective. There are 4 scenarios: my team is playing bad and I'm playing good, but not enough to carry (I wanna put emphasis on "playing" bad because everyone can have a bad game, or a few). My team is playing bad and I'm fed enough to carry. My team is super good and the enemy team is just sh*t. ME and MY TEAM are super bad and the enemy team is super good. This scenarios are all so much different from each other EVEN being in the same rank, the worst part is how you feel about it, you never have a good general idea of what your true level is. One game you hard stomp, the other one you get carried, then you get stomped, then again you have a good game but can't carry, it feels so random and if this random sh*t happens it's because the matchmaking feels so random. You can't blame smurfs because they wanna chill, you can blame the matchmaking because it puts them in lower elos when it is clear that they're smurfing by just checking their kda and wr. Anywyas, once I realized these patterns, I stopped raging because what can I do? I'll just play to get better for the very few even matches that the game provides once every 10 games.
I'm diamond (smurfing top rn) and duoing with a gm jg friend and there are literal silver and gold games we cannot 2v5 because 1) smurfs on enemy team 2) our other 3 teammates are 2/11 at 15 minutes because they die 3 minutes in, throw a tantrum and start running it down or afk or just sit there and perma type. this really is no longer a 5v5 game its more like a 2v2 smurf session to see whos' little silver players have the weaker mental and get angry first. whoever pounds out out that 8/0 and has 3 items built by 20 minutes or less wins XD. You are totally right, the games are MISERABLE now. I really don't see how you can climb unless you are some chal that knows every nook, cranny, and nuance to / in the game, and plays rengar, hec, udyr, or graves jg. something thats 1v5 high movespeed perma shielding / healing one shot champ thats hard to sit down. and not everyone wants to or can play rengar.

Everything about the game is anti competitive. I don't even understand how can someone actually believe the game to be competitive in soloQ. Matchmaking being rigged. Mmr system making the game unfair. Champions balance. Smurfs. Ints / afks. Autofill. Boosting. Damage creep. Snowballing way too fast and out of control in the first minutes. All of that things make the game HIGHLY unfair and anti competitive. Your actual skill as a player is 20% relevant at best. Unless you are turbo smurfing ofc. But if you aren't smurfing.. it's 20% at best. People should realize how bad it is. I highly recommend people to play another TRUE competitive game. Fighting games, fps games.. i don't know. But not league of legends. Only streamers who gain money are still on this game.. and even them are saying how bad it is. There is no competition anymore, there is no skill involved anymore.. it's mostly about things that are out of your control that is deciding the outcome. Sure you will have those 20% games where YOU actually make the real difference.. but that's about it, not worth your time anymore. League is truly dying .. gotta accept it.
Second comment, I highly disagree with "you will get the rank you are deserved even with a bunch of games." I've been as high as emerald and in this season I'm struggling to get out of gold. This has been the most frustrating season of League of Legends I have ever played. It is pushing me to the point of quitting.
Bronze player here, it feels like 1 in 5 games I have 2 legit bots (always jungle and support) that int and ff at 15. It’s absolutely insane and it makes ranked feel like an absolute nightmare.
For me it was the masteries. For the first time in 12 years im playing ranked, went straight to emerald, having a good time. But taking all this years of work from me, getting every suport to M7, and now they're just not at the maximum anymore. I aways knew that the game can end, all my skins can disappear in a blink of an eye, but to just take that from me, the single think that i care the most, is just cruel. And they are ugly as sh*t, disgusting.
I'm just running it down when ever my accounts get unrestricted. Bots + No one on my side wants to work together. enemy team is so synchronized I genuinely believe riot is booting player pool numbers with script accounts. My teammates are blind as bats even with wards. Meanwhile enemy team is invading me on a dragon with no vision or have 3 pink wards bot. I've had games where 4 people are following me around most of the game and my teammates accomplish nothing.
i fucking swear, normal queue is so much more tolerable. like, there's still flaming, afks, trolls, and shit but it's so much worse in ranked. i think the main thing that makes norms work better is that your MRI isn't visible, so you can't be like "oh I'm X Rank therefore I am superior." It lets you get away with learning the game at whatever pace you feel like learning it and people aren't acting like defeat is the end of the world. Like, you can go "I think we can win this game if we lock in, but I also can tell that this game is not fun for my teammates, so I'm going to vote for ff." Which is something you absolutely cannot get away with in ranked. For example. Like, your allies are way less likely to nitpick every little thing you do, and they're less likely to get pissy at you for screwing up. Especially since it's not unheard of for most people in the game to be using champs they have little to no mastery on. Again, you still get toxic people in norms. But, it's like, once in a dozen games or something like that. My main advise is to not play the game at midnight, because then your lobbies will be full of people high off their asses or tired as fuck.
and this isn't necessarily me advocating to move to norms. even tho I do think norms in general just has better game quality thank ranked. it's more me noting it and speculating on what the reasoning for it could be. since if it's possible to dissect why norms has better game quality thank ranked, that means we can start workshopping things that could improved the game quality of ranked.
its less stressful, but also ranked used to be a delight in preseason when all the players were playing for just pride and you know what happened? The match quality improved.

People say this literally every season and the game never dies. It’s all in your heads. Your mindset is stopping your success not the game. Instead of being mad when you lose just focus on improving. Take a loss as an opportunity to learn from mistakes. It’s the only way. I’ve been playing this game for 8 years and only ever reached plat. Last split I decided to really focus on improving and only worrying about what’s in my control. I finished that split emerald 1. This split I just hit diamond 3. Funny how going from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset gets you results. The only reason league is perceived as so toxic is because it has the most whiny player base that refuses to take any responsibility for the impact they have in all their games. Everyone just loves to blame their teammates. Yes there are unwinnable games. Just remember that even if you are a challenger level player you will still lose games in emerald. You should not expect that you can win every game. What you shoot for is a 55-60% win rate by taking consistent plays and saying no to plays that you know don’t work. You don’t hyper focus on the unwinnable games and let them destroy your mental. Just point out mistakes you made and move onto the next one. That’s all you can do and until you accept that you’re never going to make progress.

I have a suggestion for improvement: -ranked can only be played from level 150. -insert voice chat and remove regular chat. -remove FF from Ranked. -with Vanguard you can find trolls and Inter and ban them. -emerald must be removed and there is only one season split
Honestly, when you go up a division, it should rank you up towards your MMR. So if you play at diamond level on a bronze account, you'd be fast forwarded to emerald and your MMR would increase significantly. Go up another division after significant increase to MMR ? Repeat the process until the player hits their actual rank. So smurfs would hit their actual ranks within 5-10 games max and people who use alt accounts to remain anonymous can still do so. But then again everyone would hit their rank much faster and then stop playing. That would run counter to engagement optimized matchmaking.
they also balance the game around raw numbers and player complaints so many of the iconic champs are permanently stuck in D tier while we get another year of lulu yuumi karma meta yipeee + the game is decided in draft pick the moment you're any decent
How does elo inflation work? On one side of the argument people say that riot is engagement matchmaking keeping you from reaching your true elo but then on the other side say that there are elo inflated people who are too high for their rank how does riot decide this just randomly throw some people into higher rank and then some people get thrown below their deserved rank? I think something doesn’t add up, im a diamond support and first split this season I had a 30% wr in my first 40 games I was like 13-26 or something just due to bad luck and everyone on my teams thought I was boosted but still got to diamond after 80 games so I don’t really think it’s that bad
Ranked system should be reviewed and reworked Restiction put to champ usage in a ranked game as it goes like this : disable champs if not mastery 5 or less Adding ranked score in games even if you loose and u played well u get 0 lp and for the one who throw the game or int should be demoted a whole elo
use to play league alot a few years ago always sat high diamond before the new ranks were added got back into it this season because i have time off work, first 5 ranked games i had 2 games with afk's one due to disconnect one just raged then had a toxic loss on third game. landed bronze 3. I have climbed from bronze 3 to emerald 2 so far. the games are often the same. only now that i am highh mmr in emerald 2 vsing diamond lobbies do i play consistant games that are populated by people who understand gamestate. (by consistant i mean maybe 3 out of 5 games will feel as though they represent the elo i am in) my climb from bronze to gold took over a MONTH from gold to where i am now took a few days. (mainly due to a win streak pushing my mmr up so i get 36 lp per win and 15 per loss) i have played alot of games recently and swear on my life most bronze players are equal in skill to most emerald players. nothing has changed. only now that im super high mmr and im vsing other people with high mmr or higher ranks than myself do i feel like i am playing on equal terms. (i would have climbed faster but i am support main and while my impact is large it can be overshadowed by those who dont understand the game)
I quit cuz I had 15 game winning streak , getting to emerald 2 with 70% wr while having +12/-30 elo gains. Then I shat it all over 1 day with just 1 win/ 2 loses pattern. What was the point of me doing my hardest to get unbelievable win streak, but for my MMR still staying the same? I also love when I check some lvl 40 account dipshit who harassed everyone in the lobby and told me to kms got to diamond within 50 games with not even that impressive WR. Quited for whole year now, never could of been happier, and riots addition of vanguard ensures what I will never play this dogshit game in my life.
another issue with smurfing is ppls will troll alot more, if u have 5 accounts what do you care about the game, you want it low elo anyways so you can stomp on players, so might aswell go afk or troll
ez fix : lock your account to your personal ID -- once banned u no longer can play LoL -- get rid of all these troll/afk/feeders/ragers/ and this will also stop people from boosting accounts and allowing smurfs to populate all ques and force them to stick to their tier of players
I've been bronze for 10 years and I play at a platinum level, I was an adc main but I've lost my mind with these supports, I just started playing other roles and crushing them but then i get games that are near impossible to win with inters, trolls, and feeders so i switch position again, crush them like 3 games in a row with like a 8-20 kda mvp at least 1 game, then i get near impossible games, then i just go whatever lane seems to be the worst, which is usually top lane which is my worst lane but I still destroy until it gets near impossible, I was silver 2 a few weeks ago but I went up against a jhin as a jinx and they always destroy me, so I started thinking jhin was just OP and i played him not really knowing how to combo but still doing a lot of dmg and i played jhin all the way down to bronze 2 lol. Now I just spam ahri mid and darius top, if I get autofilled jg i go nocturn, i used to main support, jg, then adc which I say is my best, but jg i know how to kite the camps and pathing for full clear, or lvl 3 gank, or invade. I actually 1v1 a platinum renekton that was on my team shit talking me and he went on his main to try and intimidate me or something lol, I should have screenshot it, although it was blind pick, I went lucian vs renekton so I think I'm supposed to win that match up anyway but he still lost to a bronze Lucian lol. The problem is after like 50 games and i get 5 trolls or inters in a row, and i finally get tilted and start to troll becuase I lost my mind lol. that's one reason why I'm bronze, also becuase when people shit talk me, I type back defending myself instead of playing the game. riot should just add voice chat so we can play the game and still shit talk each other lol final reason is because I was an adc main for like 6-8 years and only played solo queue and my supports were either new, retared, or really bad at the game. if you never experience true losers queue in bronze then you don't understand us hardstuck players, riot wants us here, they force the loss in matchmaking by getting our mains or allies mains banned by the enemy who always bans the same champion, or their matchup is last pick and mains the counter to you or your teamate. FUck RIOT. give me my $500 account back. oh yeah and I get perma banned a lot so i can't climb much before I get banned.
Im pretty sure balancing the game to give bot lane and ADCs more agency is what has gotten ranked into this spot. Having the game decided by the worst players on your team is not a recipe for quality games.
Smurfing singlehandedly destroys ranked integrity and enjoyability, Emerald is a genuine shitshow so many issues could be fixed if you were limited to eg. 3 Accounts per PC per year (Vanguard uses TSM 2.0 to Track Hardware)
I hit diamond and i can say this game is a load of shit, after probably more than 10,000 total ranked games i can say the matchmaking algorithm is getting worse. If you play 8 games in a day the algo expects you to play like 500 games by the end of the split, and in that time they scale back your win rate so you make it to your true tank ... After 500 games. Funny enough, playing like 2-3 games a day max makes climbing a little more tolerable.

I subscribed based off the truth of this video alone. Riot doesn't give a shit anymore. dead game. Once again, when you can get seasonal achievements and be the top .05% of ranked players while playing less then 100 games, it shows no one is attempting rank anymore. I use to avidly play ranked, but got tired of the smurf accounts with 10 kda and 90%+ winrate. No one learns shit being a amateur versus a mike tyson. Thats why their flailing to make game modes that boost their stats for a couple or months before dropping right back down.
Idk why they can’t just do what Valve does with DotA 2. Link a phone number to the account, the account must have 100 games played, and have a positive conduct summary

@@Elimbi1 Something along the lines of riot giving you enough wins and enough loses to maximise the number of games you actually engage in the game. By this logic, they think that if you get to your desired rank too easily, you might stop playing ranked altogether, but if you actually lose some, you'll want to grind that rank that you might "eventually" claim at the end of the season.

@@Elimbi1 I never believed in the rigged matchmaking as in winner or loser queue. Nevertheless when you're blue side you have the advantage of the map so to balance this, red side will have higher elo players. But in really it only affects GM+/Challenger players since the gap can be count in hundreds of lp, you can look at every high elo players side winrate (they always have more games on red side and a great winrate) by yourself on leagueofgraph for exemple.
So basically you have to play 500 games where presumably %35-45 (depending on your true rank) of them will be miserable because of factors outside of your control. That is insane, why even play the game at that point.

Smurfs are not a player issue. Smurfs are an issue of the higher up matchmaking taking 30-90mins to find a game. Sure some will still have smurfs. But it sure as hell won't be this many.

@@AndrewPacketikov That's just not how it works, this isn't COD where u might get few kills here and there vs better players, this is league of legends, if someone is 10x your peak, you will lose miserably and u won't even know why u lost... You can play out the same game 100 times in a row, u never win. It is just too complex of a game for you to learn anything while getting curb stomped from minute 1.
The sad part is the fact you don’t even enjoy a win anymore. As a jungle main it’s definitely become the most toxic it’s ever been for us lot - the honour system they made is legit anti jungler since you always get flamed or reported regardless of how well you play. I do also believe there is a loser queue of sorts where after a certain amount of wins you get paired with people either with abysmal win rates or terrible honour ratings to balance out their bizarre match making method. It’s insane how those games you just get the worst experience ever with the worst humans ever lol
pretty much every modern game has that matchmaking system its complete cancer, notice how u never go win lose win lose its always streaks and 70% of games feel uncontrollable
Yes! My match history now for the last 40-50 games looks like this: 5 straight wins,4 straight losses, 5 straight wins,4-5 straight losses and so on. The system is made to maximize the amount of games you play so they can have player retention but it's working against them. Like it works maybe for the first 100-150 games since you think you can extend the winstreak but if you just look at your match history its a clear pattern. Disgusting.
Losers Q does exist, but there's a trick to it, you can quickly deflate your elo if you have a negative winrate role (don't do Supp, you'll easily get carried, pick mid) where a single lost is a massive strike to your mmr.
I won 17 games in a row from unranked to gold, 17 wins then 1 loss then 2 wins…. Then every single game since then (9 games) I’ve had the absolute scum of the earth chinese named players on my team that literally just run it down. I had a Chinese named adc be 0-9-0 at 12 minutes…. He died almost 1 time a minute for the first 12 minutes of the game.

Already in season 9 i was feeling something was not tight playing in diamond wasn’t the same as before but nowadays it’s literally losing to riot matchmaking especially if u have an old account like mine with 11 years . Surely the avg player got better i did get better too and there’s no way i’m worst than 5 years ago in terms of skills champion pool and knowledge
Im in mid to high Diamond right now and it feels like 20% of games are in my control. I’m an ADC main and I’m getting auto filled to jg and top a lot. Sometimes I’ll play with Masters players, sometimes there’s a lvl 30 plat account with 100% win rate on the enemy team who is either a GM + Smurf or a scripter. 80% of games are just pure randomness where I have no control over the outcome of the game. On my main account I almost never have over 10 deaths as ADC, I don’t understand how I’m matched with people who die non stop constantly in high diamond games. These people should know how to play safe after going 0/1 in lane
i swear its just perma autofills u now, im mid player but the last couple weeks i get autofilled nearly every 2nd game atleast and i used to always get mid 90% of the time

I uninstalled today after two games with afks. The first one an emergency, then jung went afk when we were ahead. second someone went afk after their lane had 3 deaths. we had two drakes and all voidlings.
I basically never play ranked anymore. Just normals and arams for me. Removing the bs ranked pressure and just focusing on having fun playing the game.
This comment will get lost amongst the others but I wanted to just mention something that might get forgotten. "Why are you forced to play through a load of gold players" in regards to that Gwen smurfing. Riot's system does actually have MMR detection for first time Ranked (no prior season) accounts but it uses your normal MMR. The assumption being a new player will have played a bunch of normal games on the xp grind from level 1 to level 30. This system is actually fine imo and gets hate because of a different issue and not fault of it's own. If that Gwen player had actually played the 100 normal games grinding that account up to level 30 to play ranked, then the system would definitely have placed them in a much higher bracket. But we all know what really happened. That Gwen player did not level that account. You know it, I know it, everyone knows that account was levelled by a bot or someone else and then the Gwen player bought the account. This gives that account the mmr of whoever previously owned it. The thing about LoL's mmr is that it is quite "sticky". It likes to stay around the same point and not be too impacted by sudden shifts, you see this often when you "reset" every split and still play at against and with the same players or how players who actually make and level their own accounts often get the same rating as their main nearly instantly. But the problem with this is that if someone else levels the account, the system wants to believe the player who levelled it is whatever mmr they were and their insane sudden shift in champion, playstyle and win ratio is luck. It can take a while for these bought accounts mmr to fix itself even when the new owner of the account is completely 1v9ing.
I can vouch for that. I lvled up account not so long ago playing drafts the entire time. I ended up in plat/emerald elo. But there is downside to that. Quickplay/Normal Draft supposed to be a place where you can queue up and play whatever you want. You want to learn new champ/role? That's should be the place for it. But it isn't, people will tryhard, pull off their highers mastery champions because now not only they can boost their ego, they have also a reason to do that, especially on the fresh account. So now instead of Bronze having ruined ranked games, lvl 10 players have their games ruined. It shouldn't be like this, no new player should have his game ruined by ego driven morons regardless if they are playing normal draft or ranked in bronze (let's be honest Quick Play is just cancer center).
@@Rewleague that would require them to HIRE people. To you know, do a job. Riot can't do that. That would mean... PAYING people. Nononono it has to be automated or there is no solution. Remember: Riot is trying to set this game up to practically run itself (even if it's terrible) so that they can spend nothing and make millions. They do not care about the quality of matches (any elo) because they don't make money off of that. It is really that simple. Don't forget: Tencent. Chinese corporations have nothing but poor reputation for quality control no matter what industry. Because quality control costs money. So they just don't do it. If league players want a major league reform, start praying for China to send boats at Taiwan. I'd bet a kidney we will see WW3 before we see Tencent give Riot the funding they would actually need to make a major reform.
Sounds like the problem lies in the "sticky" MMR then. If an account suddenly started to win 20+ games in a row, it should be skipping divisions instead of being capped at +30 lp per game, regardless of how low it started imo. The faster a smurf climbs, the less games they'll ruin before getting to their rank. But riot doesn't want people to climb fast. They want people to commit to extended playtimes so it looks better.
The list of things that eventually made me quit: 1) Riot Vanguard (the list of things I hate about it would be probably be too long to fit in a YT comment) 2) Removal of useful pings (remember "just type karthus ult"?) 3) DPS going from Damage Per Second to Damage Per Screenshot (fights lasting more than 10s is apparently bad for tiktok viewers retention) 4) €500 Ahri skin Those are just some of the most ludicrous examples that I came up with in the moment, I'm sure there are a lot more that I'm forgetting

Lee sin is an assassin now. But he still tanks and has low CDs. And he isn't even the worst offender. He's still presented as one of the most balanced and fair champs around and that being true IS a big L for league. If Lee sin is a balance standpoint the game is, and it really is, completelly off.
Thank you, this is exactly what “losers queue” is referring to btw it’s that the ranked matchmaking has decided which team is going to win. Whether it be engagement matchmaking or the system “testing” your skill at your rank. There is no excuse. Every game should be as balanced as possible. No matter what it should attempt to create a 50/50 game. But it’s so obvious that the matchmaking does the exact opposite. It is designed to predetermine how often you should win and lose. Yes you can push your own rank up or down with skill, but every game in isolation is determined what the outcome should be.
league changed for me when they got rid of the tribunal. i straight up miss pulling that up and going through my queue and reading their chats and whatnot. but for real though, once they got rid of the really fun gamemodes (legend of the poro king, doombots, TWISTED TREELINE) i kinda just....dont 'really' enjoy playing. it all seems like a chore. everything has to be so serious (arena "ladder") and im just here to be stupid and do stupid things.
The smurfs are an rng element also. Do you get the tryhard going for 90% climb, or do you get the limit tester who does well, but throws on repeat to try 1v5, or the egoer who loses on purpose because they think you dont deserve to win and they have already proven themselves on main

80% of my games, it's one of the following; 0-10 botlane at 15 0-6 Midlaner at 15 0-4 Jungle with zero objs at 20 I don't care how good I play I can't stop a 10-0 Kat, 8-0 Jinx, etc. Just old, no emotions it's just old.
I am in bronze. And one thing you didn't mention... what about the afk? I lost 4 games because of that. It is true you lose half of LP but I want free LP, too.

Can check league of graphs lower ranks have more afk %. Gotta say I dont see many afk like the other guy said maybe 1/20 it’s the 0-10 botlane flaming is my main issue

They leave games and afk cause they think its a sure loss and don't want to waste time. Or are just fed up and walk away. Both are Riot's problem and lead right back to balancing issues. None of that should *ever* be placed on the other players in the match. In any way.

I leveled an account on EUNE to play with my friends, entered my first placement game in Solo queue and got an Alistar mid who was Iron 4 with 0 LP. Next game, I got a Draven smurf who abused bot lane and was 10/0 in the first 12 min. This is all in placements. Next few games went similarly, I ended up winning 2/5 and got placed in Bronze 4. Because of smurfs and trolls on my team. Needless to say, I won't be playing solo q anymore as it literally isn't about skill, but rather luck. The smurfs could've been on my team, but I pulled the short end of the stick. Flex should be the only queue to exist, and even then there should be restrictions. Like at least 50k points on a champ before you can play it in ranked or something.
I have a big issue with everyone wanting to FF over the smallest inconvenience. I love kayle, play way too much of her mid. Its hard to win before 20 minutes on her so i focus on the farming and getting level 6. The issue is that my top laner just dove a renekton at 50% hp and lost followed by my rengar ganking a vex and spam pinging the level 3 kayle to help him when hes way too deep. The average IQ of league players have plummeted. I stopped playing ranked recently because it just feels frustrating to be low impact if i pick someone i enjoy, or struggle with a high impact pick because i dont play them that much and dont find their mechancis fun. League just doesnt feel like its in a good state at the moment.
I think a lesser mentioned issue is the players being part of the problem. A lot of players just play how they want with no consideration for the strengths and weaknesses of other champs. Does the game just have too much content that people just resign themself to playing casually?
Games are decided way too quickly now yes. Mostly because people threw tantrums over the games lasting on average 30 minutes. Now it either lasts 15 minutes, or 45 minutes. What an improvement!
i think IQ is an issue as well. pretty sure it's the millions of migrants the west recieves a year, that *will* have an effect on games with high player counts
It would be fine if they forced 1 smurf on each side to negate the other. The problem is one team is full of actual low elo players and the other is filled with 70%+ wr players.
I do smurf sometimes and I also agree with u. From my expirience its very unbalanced matchmaking tho. I usually sit at a 80-90%WR when tryharding on my OTP in about 25-50 games on a fresh lvl 30. And most (if not) every single game, espacially in the first 1-20 games, I get 4 hardstucks in my Team who belong to the elo in the MMR Iam in and the enemy team has atleast 1 DUO smurfers and its so disgusting to deal with. Espacially if they are jgl/mid or bot/supp. Im mid btw. But I dont wanna imagine how insane it is if youre a hardstuck with a full hardstuck team vs a full smurf team I also saw that sometimes and thats truly sad and truly a matchmaking failure by this disgusting company
Blind Pick being removed is also a huge reason why i quit... Because Quickplay sucksss... You are literally going in 50/50 whether or not you're getting the role you asked for... even then if you get it you still have to be concerned whether or not your team is even decent

Vanguard literally bricked my PC. Twice. I had the same artefacts on my screen as if GPU chip burned. All due to the fact that I use Dr.Web antivirus which is not compatible with Vanguard. Aaaaand 500$ Ahri skin, I thought for a long time that it was like some kind of joke, but turned out to be true. I peaked Diamond 3 as Sett main and a period between Emerald and Diamond was absolutely worst gaming experience I've had in years. Thinking about selling my account. I just play Dota 2 from time to time to feed my urges to play moba which it kinda does (unfortunately there is no Sett in Dota or anything similar) and doesnt make me addicted.
The game is SHIT from any perspective. Client doesn't work properly, game doesn't work properly, solo/duo ranked just doesn't work, balance is nonexistent, new champions are shit, new skins are shit, a lot of bugs are here for years unfixed. And they dont do anything - because, mostly, a lot of people still log in on daily basis. Everyone is just so addicted that there is no reason to do anything.

We went from healthy metas with a lot of viable champions to season 5 tanks meta , class rework meta , censer meta etc etc so many garbage changes that were hated by the old and first league community . For me peak league is season 3 , 4 and 9 and i’ve being playing since season 2
I think the mmr system is just fucked and should be removed altogether. Put players of a similar rank together and it'll work out far better than putting a 100% win rate draven smurf vs an emerald 49% wr caitlyn. That's just miserable
This is the moment when a simple system works better than a fancy one with a bunch of features. If a person has this rank, it means he deserves to have it, that’s the end. When the system tries to find the “real” rank, the end result is that someone is sitting on gold 3 with +10 / -30 elo and 70% win rate and diamond 2 with +30 / -10 and 30% win rate. The developers thought they were smarterx than us, but in the end they forgot to take off their pants before shitting in the toilet

It's been so bad that I paid for coaching as an adc main because I can't carry gold games anymore. It's more like, the team won't let me. Without me even saying what I thought my rank was, my coach literally said that I play like an emerald player. Funny thing is, I was consistently an emerald adc and now I can't even carry gold games. The quality is so insanely low that it's like I'm bashing my head into the wall everytime I queue. Now I'm getting +15 - 33lp in gold. You have to be so much better than the enemy that it's insane. I mean, my goal is to reach masters one day, but it feels like I have to play like a masters player right now to consistently win games in GOLD. I think league of legends is an amazing game, but no-one values the competitive experience of ranked anymore and it's becoming miserable. Even 2 splits ago it was so much better.

Skill floor is improving much faster than skill ceiling. New players won't stay for ranked because everyone is too good and older good players simply leaving at a slower rate because the game is boring or meta or rigged.

S13 had more player growth on EUW than S14. S13 was the worst season out of them all so far (most stale season, nothing except jg got changed). So players are quitting for various reasons, but tbh it's the unbelievable amount of griefers and soft trolls that don't get punished. APC support farming mid waves and split pushing, jungler never rotating to any objective and afk full clearing all game. And the worst of all is griefing players that hold you hostage, cause the want you to afk for lp mitigation. Absolutely disgusting.
Ranked is just a mess. Like why is it even LEGAL to have 2-3 autofilled teammates against full main role team. Why negative WR lobbies exist? Its so obvious when the game tries to get you to 50% wr when you are in a winning streak and suddenly you have to play with 3 teammates that´ve lost last 6-8 games in a row. Flaming of course is punished but soft inting keeps being a thing. Meta champs are stronger than ever. WAAAYYY too much mobility. MAGE items being so fucking cheap and stat overloaded as per usual. CC out of control. Elo inflated players playing in lobbies that are 2x their rank. Wtf is this?
It does feel like the game is at it's lowest atm. To me personally, the balancing is insanely shit tier atm, modern champions (nearly all of them from the past 5 years) feel insanely disgusting to go up against (Aurora is gonna be no different). It's been a hot minute since Riot cared about giving a single fuck in regards to respecting their playerbase. Literally the single only good thing that has come out of League in these past years was Arena, SR feels miserable to play.
By the way all of the modern issues with the ranked ladder stem from the removal of smurf queue and that time they "increased" lp gains. I was thinking about making a video on this but im afraid it would fall of deaf ears. Any time you talk about smurf q you get ppl who think they were in smurf queue when they were silver 3 with 60% win rate. It was actually a pretty nuanced system that worked insanely well for controlling game quality but they most likely removed it due to longer queue times.

i reached my peak last split at emerald 2 after playing ranked for last 2-3 years and i’ve always been competitive but i’ve only done my placements this split ended at plat 1 at end of split and i can’t even be bothered to play ranked this season because i’m an ornn otp and it feels like even if i go 5/0/0 in lane before lane ends i have 0 impact in the result because the other team gets one fed carry and i might as well not play the game
With all due respect, why would you expect a different outcome? I love playing tanjs but the reality is that a tank should not be able to 1v9, even if it's a fed toplaner. Unless you are the only giga fed one in a game, tanks are not designed as 1v9 carries... An Ornn sure is good to play as a coordinated team that knows each other, but to gain enough lp to climb in soloq? You are making your life harder, and the truth is, that if you are waiting to be able to stomp every game as a tank top main, you are never going to come back to the game unless they fck up bad on a patch and you can play until it's reverted
I'm sorry but no I'm cheater, and never scripted or what the hell ever, but my computer is new, like bought it 6 months ago, it's nothing too special, but it's a gaming computer. And now that vanguard is a thing, my computer actually freezes sometimes. Like everything on screen freezes for 3-15 seconds then I get to see what's actually happening afterwards. Can't click anything can't use abilities nothing, and this has NEVER happened in the past. It's absolutely crazy. No my memory is not almost full, and no, I have no virus on my computer, I have an anti virus scan. I've had ping issues in the past where it jumps up and it's hard to understand what's actually happening but actual computer freezes? Never in the history of 10 years of playing on different computers and shit has it froze my computer for a little bit. But it happens now, and it really makes me not want to play the game. It would be different if my computer was old, I could kinda understand, but for it to be new and this happening? What the hell is vanguard actually doing with my computer to have such an impact that it freezes my computer? It's unreal man.

Drafts are ok. Rankings are just sick. Interestingly, in Drafts the matches are more normal and the team can play something and help, while in Ranked... you are alone!
Honestly, all they need to do to curbe smurfing is introduce bonus lp for winstreaks. They have these insane winrates, so they obviously streak often this would force players to their real elo faster, and shouldn't effect normal people much at all.

man ive literally chatted with my team about enemy comp before (in teamchat) in the beginning of the game and got muted for the match cause apparently something i wrote was wrongspeak.. there was no flaming or anything we were just talking about lineup and riot comes and griefs me so that i cant communicate with my team anymore. Yeah league just isn't fun anymore, i'm almost 60% wr emerald 3, could easily climb to diamond in like a week of playing constantly but i just quit the game because it's pure dissapointment EVERY single match and every single day logging in to this game, people that should get banned still infesting your lobbies, people just giving up after 5 minutes of laning so then you have to be extra tryhard just to barely win the game which mentally exhausts you, no new changes to the game, SHIT microtransactions like the passes make you don't even want to spend money on the game or should i say MACROtransactions *cough cough ahri bundle cough cough*.Oh and don't even make me mention all the new skins they're releasing in the shop like the infernal and faerie court ones where they blatantly reuse assets and put no passion into the skins,making them look like they released 15 years ago. This game is just disgusting and i can't believe im saying this but moving to Fortnite out of all games has been a breath of fresh air, they're releasing content bi-weekly, like actual content, guns,npcs,events,collabs you name it and it's probably in Fortnite. Epic isn't the greatest company ever, they make alot of mistakes and fuck-ups but compared to riot??? night and day. And it's actually surprising the amount of cosmetics you get for completely free, you could be playing without spending a penny for an entire year and after that you're gonna actually have a stacked locker, its crazy, compared to League where after a year you can maybe have what? 10 skins which 8 of them were made in 2009 and are basically chromas, 3 ward skins and 15 icons. Sorry for the rant but i just had to get it off my chest.
The problem is queuing up with random people to play competitively. This formula just ends up as a disaster no matter the elo and game. As long as this option exists and people opt into it, they will end up having a terrible time. There is too much variance/inconsistency in a game where you people with random people. This is the heart of the problem and haven't seen anyone mention this. Overall, the game at it's core is a great, but I avoid modes where you queue up with random people. I'd much rather play solo, 1v1, or with a pre-made group, knowing that I'll enjoy the game with friends and play cooperatively. I guess it depends on how tolerant people are when they face these variances/inconsistencies.
Leaving another comment xD The problem with banning smurfing is that Riot has to decide what smurfing is. To some players, Smurfing is simply ANY player who plays on another account. To other players it is only players who play on another account that is lower than their main. To other players it is playing on an account that is lower that is the same role / champion as your main etc. We often hear of people wanting to practice new champions or a new role but they get too punished doing it on their main. For those players to practice they have 2 options, 1 play normal games which are almost always horrible quality, they just are. They always have been and always will be I think. Or 2, make a 2nd account that can be used for practicing without hurting their main. In theory, making the 2nd account here wouldn't be that much of a problem because it's only 1 account and if they are actually playing a 2nd role or a 2nd champion, they will not be at the same level of their main anyway. A new account would give them the chance to find a comfortable level that matches what they are in this role. In theory as long as they never play their main champion or main role, this could / would / should / not be acceptable depending on your own thoughts. For me, I personally have 3 accounts that are between mid platinum and low gold. On each account I play almost exclusively (auto fill is dumb) one role and so the differences between the accounts represent the differences between my individual skill on the 3 different roles. Someone playing at Gold 4 level in a Platinum 1 game would be reported, but that is the reality if I wanted to swap to jungle from top. My goal would be for all of my accounts to be equal in rating but hey it takes time to learn new champions and it takes time to learn new roles so for now I'll have to settle for my jungle and support gameplay being worse than my top lane.
Well , you're an exception but you can't expect everyone to be a "nice smurf" IMO, the fix is extremely simple. It's already in RIOT's T&S that each player is expected to be playing on a single account. It's just the fact that RIOT doesn't punish anyone abusing this. On contrary, it's encouraged. If riot wants to fix this, they will do it quite easily. Give an ultimatum to anyone that, from the date of "X" , everyone using multiple accounts will get banned on EVERY account. This fixes the issue. A more elegant solution though would be I.D. / bank account account link (at least for ranked games). Ofc, you can borrow your mom's card and I.D but I'm pretty sure 98% would be eradicated with this simple change

I am tired of match making system so I quit league, even tho I am a died-hard ARAM player. My silver 2 ass keeps getting paired with Emerald, Diamond and Master players; like where are the Silver or Gold ARAM player (i know ARAM has separate MMR but cmon)???? I try hard to chill and just play but sometimes the skill discrepancy and comp are way too skewed. You just know just know you lost when you see the loading screen and you cant FF till min 12.
Splution to trolls and griefers? Remove that fucking surrender button. The first month will be ass as people throw their tantrums, but game quality in total will improve. That surrender button is the most DERANGED feature Riot ever added.
I was in favour of 15 mins ff as something like 90% of games that were were 4-1 to ff ended in a loss but I’ll admit i think its a mistake. 20 minute ff minimum again pls
that way people can hostage you for even longer wasting your time. Remove FF and you'll see a lot more people opening lanes for the enemy to end faster (if they don't feel like making it even worse by extending the game on purpose). Don't underestimate how malicious people can be, they would enjoy torturing you even more if you can't get out.

I agree that placement is all kinds of hell right now. I've been fighting for my life in Bronze 1 for that sweet 27 LP. I know I'm not the best, but I think the system believes I should be around Silver 3, since that's the majority of matchups I get. Oddly, though, that usually includes those in silver who are Plat and Gold peakers on their climb up. After running into them, I currently sit around a 48% wr. In my last 10 ranked matches I went 5-5, 3 of those losses at the hands of climbing plat peakers. The hope is still alive, though, as I've mentally refined my champ pool and playstyle for the future.
it's honestly how disgusting and inflated the ladder is, the amount of shit players that still somehow climb and inflate themselves because they can just "spam meta champs and climb" is so high, for me personally the biggest issues has to be elo inflation (at least for highelo) and the fact that griefers/inters just never get punished no matter what and also because the game's state took an insane turn for the worst over the last few seasons (s11-12 for me were the last "decent" seasons we had). I've also seen an insane amount of ppl that get "losers queue" and they seem to just not be able to get out of it or whatever else and they end up deciding to quit ranked all together. No idea what people in lower elos will say or what their reasoning might be as to quitting league or ranked or whatever it is, but it's probably smurfs for them which I can understand, playing vs people who are much higher rank than u can be frustrating.

@@TheNyancat07 not really, yeah new accounts can get u higher but if ur a silver player you will still be in silver or max gold, new accounts start in silver and unless they have a good normal mmr they won't start in anything higher than gold 3 (which is the current maximum for new fresh accounts with good normal mmr) otherwise you'll end up back in silver. Riot already tried fixing those dame new accounts so instead of playing in emerald or play in ur very first game even as a new player, u now play in silver or gold

And when I start a new account I easily get it to master+ but once it reaches that same mmr and I get the same old shitty players it's the same old story. True, you have to put so much effort into playing some champions just because of them being older champions where as the newer or just easier can use a 4th of the effort and and 4x the results, for instance Garen and Akshan are perfect examples of this. Garen just presse's his 3 buttons and you die instantly, Akshan just E's the mid wall and 3 shots u.
Rigged ranked and bad champions in 2024 sounds like a lot of cope. There are some champs on the weaker side but no champ at all is just straight up weak and keeping u hardstuck if you're a better player.

The game is OBJECTIVELY FASTER. Period. Average game time has gone down by like 50% since league started. Damage creep is at a nearly all time high, people die within milliseconds of a fed character showing up on their screen. Basically every champion added within the past few years has some form of dash. And Lee Sin mains in literal bronze are pulling off insecs...

What's really crazy to me is that Riot really seems to expect enough players to play 500 Ranked games in a season to attain their "True Rank". I feel like I played a lot of League this past year and I didn't even play 400 *Normal* games. Maybe adding on other gamemodes like Arena or ARAM and occasional Ranked games I might have done 500 total games in an entire year. Even at 3 games a day every day that's an insane ask. It would take almost 7 months to reach 500 games. And getting trolls and smurfs and AFKs even just one in ten games would be enough to discourage most players.
Oh yeah that reminds me of that one comment I saw telling someone "I bet you didn't even play 400 TFT matches this split which is not much"

It is like this in unranked, too. I am against people farming for level 30 who have literally admitted to being like diamond smurfs after going 20/0 in 10 minutes... I also constantly either get matched against people in like silver and gold when I am definitely not that good. I have a 15% winrate in my last 20 games, and in every one of them, my team has been an average of 700 levels lower than the enemy team. Like what? Why?
I was emerald, played a shit load with the -50 for deranking. Had a bad losung streak and now im in silver 1. I know i can get back to emerald but i dont want to play 300 games to get there with all the trolls and idiots ill be getting.
I don't know if pre-level 30 games would affect your match-making, but in my main account, I'm in Iron II, in my other account, I frequently paired with Platinum and Emerald players, sometimes even low Diamonds. Almost never I'm against or I have in my team someone lower than gold.
This is because I just played like 160 rankeds in 2022, when I was truly awful, and then in the last two years very few ranked games. Almost only ARAM and normal games. And as I don't play more than, like 10 games per season split, this ended up happening
I remember someone saying there is 40% of games you lose no Mather what you do, 40% you win no Mather what you do and only 20% that are decided by your own performance. This includes prettymuch all of the mentioned points in the video. As in your games will be miserable, some will be for your enemies and if you play long enough you climb … eventually
I think we can agree, Riot needs to invest in better systems of recognition of smurf play. By tracking things like: Actions per minute, Camera movement, Speed of navigating shop/buying items, Vision control, Backing timers, Skillshots hit, Damage, K/D/A, etc.
Those factors can be added together and compared to average players of the same rank. I don't think smurfing can't be removed, so get smurfs facing diamond/master players quicker!
Things wrong with the game:
1. Champion power creeps keep growing. Aurora's numbers are already scary as fuck, almost every champion before needed to be nerfed at the start, they still can't get a grip on K'sante, Zeri, Yummi, Smolder. They either completly gut those champs or they are overpowered.
2. Mantality of playerbase is completly wrecked. "play for win play for win" promoted by Riot at every turn went so hard on so many that there is no game mode where you can actually chill and play casually without ripping your veins out.
3. General power creep keep growing. Champions are different cathegory. Items, runes, summoner spells. Items deal shitloads of dmg, execute or amplify dmg that is already high. To counter it they make tank items more tanky which is something people are whining about so they give dmg items more dmg. Tank items dealing dmg scalling with tankiness is just on it's own a goddamn joke. Adding even more items that deals dmg (we had Liandry's now they added Blackfire Torch which is the exact same thing except stat profile).
4. Ranking ladder means nothing. You can't expect anything from any player because they will get upset and report you. Someone can't use pings to signal that his lane opponent is missing? Don't worry, he'll spamping you the moment he will get gangbanged. 20 sec to dragon and your botlane decided to go for plate and recall? Don't worry, they will blame you for not doing objectives. And those are the most basic things that happenes every game. But you decided to call your team a band of idiots for throwing the entire game on the dumbest Baron attempt in the history? You will get your chat restricted because you made bad players upset. As long as you don't swear on chat or run in the straight line on enemy nexus dying 20th time you can be the most clueless animal and still enjoy ruining other players games.
5. Communication. People getting upset because you can spamping them, well, they still can do it. Now they can ping you 7 times instead of 15 but they still can do that. But when you try to let your team know what to do 7 pings is no enough and since getting chat restrict is the easiest thing to achieve in this game you essentially can't effectively communicate with your team.
6. Riot inconsistency. Calling someone "retard" is bad, you should be banned but throwing left, right and center "you are mentally ill go to therapy" without any real qualifications is cool. Someone goes afk for 5 mins in the middle of the game while his premade is begging to not surrender without telling you he will be gone for 5 mins just to play against him the very next game like nothing wrong happened but in the meantime Riot openly say that if you have bad connection (nothing you can do about it) you should be banned and not allowed to play their game. Laners running after jungler in attempt to steal his camps or junglers going on someone's lane to cash as much creeps as possible putting laner in bad spot isn't THAT bad but you running the game down after incident like this? Oh, no, no, no Riot don't care who starter, you HAVE TO play for the win no matter what. Making champions Lore LGBTQ frendly, putting as much trans, gay or bi things in the game as possible and highlighting it, putting some rainbow emotes and icons, now making autistic champion highlighting she's autistic but in the same time ignoring literally any other disorder in existance.
And that's only from the last month or so.
The only games I lose are against 60%+ wr smurfs, and even when I lose those games I’m still mvp.
I miss older games where match making was based on nothing but your visual rank, kda and all other stats didn’t mean anything at all, and it made people care about the win so much more.
But basing it only on visual rank would make the smurfing problem so much worse, a bronze 4 players that always 0/5 and is awfull at the game could be paired against a bronze 4 smurf that has 90% winrate and hard carries every game

After realizing by my own all of that explained in the video (which is very accurate) I stopped raging at the game, and I started to be more objective.
There are 4 scenarios: my team is playing bad and I'm playing good, but not enough to carry (I wanna put emphasis on "playing" bad because everyone can have a bad game, or a few).
My team is playing bad and I'm fed enough to carry.
My team is super good and the enemy team is just sh*t.
ME and MY TEAM are super bad and the enemy team is super good.
This scenarios are all so much different from each other EVEN being in the same rank, the worst part is how you feel about it, you never have a good general idea of what your true level is. One game you hard stomp, the other one you get carried, then you get stomped, then again you have a good game but can't carry, it feels so random and if this random sh*t happens it's because the matchmaking feels so random. You can't blame smurfs because they wanna chill, you can blame the matchmaking because it puts them in lower elos when it is clear that they're smurfing by just checking their kda and wr.
Anywyas, once I realized these patterns, I stopped raging because what can I do? I'll just play to get better for the very few even matches that the game provides once every 10 games.
I'm diamond (smurfing top rn) and duoing with a gm jg friend and there are literal silver and gold games we cannot 2v5 because 1) smurfs on enemy team 2) our other 3 teammates are 2/11 at 15 minutes because they die 3 minutes in, throw a tantrum and start running it down or afk or just sit there and perma type. this really is no longer a 5v5 game its more like a 2v2 smurf session to see whos' little silver players have the weaker mental and get angry first. whoever pounds out out that 8/0 and has 3 items built by 20 minutes or less wins XD. You are totally right, the games are MISERABLE now. I really don't see how you can climb unless you are some chal that knows every nook, cranny, and nuance to / in the game, and plays rengar, hec, udyr, or graves jg. something thats 1v5 high movespeed perma shielding / healing one shot champ thats hard to sit down. and not everyone wants to or can play rengar.

Everything about the game is anti competitive. I don't even understand how can someone actually believe the game to be competitive in soloQ. Matchmaking being rigged. Mmr system making the game unfair. Champions balance. Smurfs. Ints / afks. Autofill. Boosting. Damage creep. Snowballing way too fast and out of control in the first minutes. All of that things make the game HIGHLY unfair and anti competitive. Your actual skill as a player is 20% relevant at best. Unless you are turbo smurfing ofc. But if you aren't smurfing.. it's 20% at best.
People should realize how bad it is. I highly recommend people to play another TRUE competitive game. Fighting games, fps games.. i don't know. But not league of legends. Only streamers who gain money are still on this game.. and even them are saying how bad it is. There is no competition anymore, there is no skill involved anymore.. it's mostly about things that are out of your control that is deciding the outcome. Sure you will have those 20% games where YOU actually make the real difference.. but that's about it, not worth your time anymore. League is truly dying .. gotta accept it.
Second comment, I highly disagree with "you will get the rank you are deserved even with a bunch of games." I've been as high as emerald and in this season I'm struggling to get out of gold. This has been the most frustrating season of League of Legends I have ever played. It is pushing me to the point of quitting.
I play Valorant at a high level and picked up league like a month ago to escape this exact situation. I see only the same awaits me once I get good.
Bronze player here, it feels like 1 in 5 games I have 2 legit bots (always jungle and support) that int and ff at 15. It’s absolutely insane and it makes ranked feel like an absolute nightmare.

For the first time in 12 years im playing ranked, went straight to emerald, having a good time. But taking all this years of work from me, getting every suport to M7, and now they're just not at the maximum anymore.

I've had games where 4 people are following me around most of the game and my teammates accomplish nothing.
i fucking swear, normal queue is so much more tolerable. like, there's still flaming, afks, trolls, and shit but it's so much worse in ranked. i think the main thing that makes norms work better is that your MRI isn't visible, so you can't be like "oh I'm X Rank therefore I am superior." It lets you get away with learning the game at whatever pace you feel like learning it and people aren't acting like defeat is the end of the world. Like, you can go "I think we can win this game if we lock in, but I also can tell that this game is not fun for my teammates, so I'm going to vote for ff." Which is something you absolutely cannot get away with in ranked. For example. Like, your allies are way less likely to nitpick every little thing you do, and they're less likely to get pissy at you for screwing up. Especially since it's not unheard of for most people in the game to be using champs they have little to no mastery on. Again, you still get toxic people in norms. But, it's like, once in a dozen games or something like that. My main advise is to not play the game at midnight, because then your lobbies will be full of people high off their asses or tired as fuck.
and this isn't necessarily me advocating to move to norms. even tho I do think norms in general just has better game quality thank ranked. it's more me noting it and speculating on what the reasoning for it could be. since if it's possible to dissect why norms has better game quality thank ranked, that means we can start workshopping things that could improved the game quality of ranked.
its less stressful, but also ranked used to be a delight in preseason when all the players were playing for just pride and you know what happened? The match quality improved.

People say this literally every season and the game never dies. It’s all in your heads. Your mindset is stopping your success not the game. Instead of being mad when you lose just focus on improving. Take a loss as an opportunity to learn from mistakes. It’s the only way. I’ve been playing this game for 8 years and only ever reached plat. Last split I decided to really focus on improving and only worrying about what’s in my control. I finished that split emerald 1. This split I just hit diamond 3. Funny how going from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset gets you results. The only reason league is perceived as so toxic is because it has the most whiny player base that refuses to take any responsibility for the impact they have in all their games. Everyone just loves to blame their teammates. Yes there are unwinnable games. Just remember that even if you are a challenger level player you will still lose games in emerald. You should not expect that you can win every game. What you shoot for is a 55-60% win rate by taking consistent plays and saying no to plays that you know don’t work. You don’t hyper focus on the unwinnable games and let them destroy your mental. Just point out mistakes you made and move onto the next one. That’s all you can do and until you accept that you’re never going to make progress.

-ranked can only be played from level 150.
-insert voice chat and remove regular chat.
-remove FF from Ranked.
-with Vanguard you can find trolls and Inter and ban them.
-emerald must be removed and there is only one season split

Honestly, when you go up a division, it should rank you up towards your MMR. So if you play at diamond level on a bronze account, you'd be fast forwarded to emerald and your MMR would increase significantly. Go up another division after significant increase to MMR ? Repeat the process until the player hits their actual rank. So smurfs would hit their actual ranks within 5-10 games max and people who use alt accounts to remain anonymous can still do so. But then again everyone would hit their rank much faster and then stop playing. That would run counter to engagement optimized matchmaking.

How does elo inflation work? On one side of the argument people say that riot is engagement matchmaking keeping you from reaching your true elo but then on the other side say that there are elo inflated people who are too high for their rank how does riot decide this just randomly throw some people into higher rank and then some people get thrown below their deserved rank? I think something doesn’t add up, im a diamond support and first split this season I had a 30% wr in my first 40 games I was like 13-26 or something just due to bad luck and everyone on my teams thought I was boosted but still got to diamond after 80 games so I don’t really think it’s that bad

use to play league alot a few years ago always sat high diamond before the new ranks were added got back into it this season because i have time off work, first 5 ranked games i had 2 games with afk's one due to disconnect one just raged then had a toxic loss on third game. landed bronze 3. I have climbed from bronze 3 to emerald 2 so far. the games are often the same. only now that i am highh mmr in emerald 2 vsing diamond lobbies do i play consistant games that are populated by people who understand gamestate. (by consistant i mean maybe 3 out of 5 games will feel as though they represent the elo i am in) my climb from bronze to gold took over a MONTH from gold to where i am now took a few days. (mainly due to a win streak pushing my mmr up so i get 36 lp per win and 15 per loss) i have played alot of games recently and swear on my life most bronze players are equal in skill to most emerald players. nothing has changed. only now that im super high mmr and im vsing other people with high mmr or higher ranks than myself do i feel like i am playing on equal terms. (i would have climbed faster but i am support main and while my impact is large it can be overshadowed by those who dont understand the game)
I quit cuz I had 15 game winning streak , getting to emerald 2 with 70% wr while having +12/-30 elo gains.
Then I shat it all over 1 day with just 1 win/ 2 loses pattern. What was the point of me doing my hardest to get unbelievable win streak, but for my MMR still staying the same?

another issue with smurfing is ppls will troll alot more, if u have 5 accounts what do you care about the game, you want it low elo anyways so you can stomp on players, so might aswell go afk or troll
ez fix : lock your account to your personal ID -- once banned u no longer can play LoL -- get rid of all these troll/afk/feeders/ragers/ and this will also stop people from boosting accounts and allowing smurfs to populate all ques and force them to stick to their tier of players
I've been bronze for 10 years and I play at a platinum level, I was an adc main but I've lost my mind with these supports, I just started playing other roles and crushing them but then i get games that are near impossible to win with inters, trolls, and feeders so i switch position again, crush them like 3 games in a row with like a 8-20 kda mvp at least 1 game, then i get near impossible games, then i just go whatever lane seems to be the worst, which is usually top lane which is my worst lane but I still destroy until it gets near impossible, I was silver 2 a few weeks ago but I went up against a jhin as a jinx and they always destroy me, so I started thinking jhin was just OP and i played him not really knowing how to combo but still doing a lot of dmg and i played jhin all the way down to bronze 2 lol. Now I just spam ahri mid and darius top, if I get autofilled jg i go nocturn, i used to main support, jg, then adc which I say is my best, but jg i know how to kite the camps and pathing for full clear, or lvl 3 gank, or invade. I actually 1v1 a platinum renekton that was on my team shit talking me and he went on his main to try and intimidate me or something lol, I should have screenshot it, although it was blind pick, I went lucian vs renekton so I think I'm supposed to win that match up anyway but he still lost to a bronze Lucian lol. The problem is after like 50 games and i get 5 trolls or inters in a row, and i finally get tilted and start to troll becuase I lost my mind lol. that's one reason why I'm bronze, also becuase when people shit talk me, I type back defending myself instead of playing the game. riot should just add voice chat so we can play the game and still shit talk each other lol final reason is because I was an adc main for like 6-8 years and only played solo queue and my supports were either new, retared, or really bad at the game. if you never experience true losers queue in bronze then you don't understand us hardstuck players, riot wants us here, they force the loss in matchmaking by getting our mains or allies mains banned by the enemy who always bans the same champion, or their matchup is last pick and mains the counter to you or your teamate. Im pretty sure balancing the game to give bot lane and ADCs more agency is what has gotten ranked into this spot. Having the game decided by the worst players on your team is not a recipe for quality games.

Smurfing singlehandedly destroys ranked integrity and enjoyability, Emerald is a genuine shitshow so many issues could be fixed if you were limited to eg. 3 Accounts per PC per year (Vanguard uses TSM 2.0 to Track Hardware)

I hit diamond and i can say this game is a load of shit, after probably more than 10,000 total ranked games i can say the matchmaking algorithm is getting worse. If you play 8 games in a day the algo expects you to play like 500 games by the end of the split, and in that time they scale back your win rate so you make it to your true tank ... After 500 games. Funny enough, playing like 2-3 games a day max makes climbing a little more tolerable.

I subscribed based off the truth of this video alone. Riot doesn't give a shit anymore. dead game. Once again, when you can get seasonal achievements and be the top .05% of ranked players while playing less then 100 games, it shows no one is attempting rank anymore. I use to avidly play ranked, but got tired of the smurf accounts with 10 kda and 90%+ winrate. No one learns shit being a amateur versus a mike tyson. By this logic, they think that if you get to your desired rank too easily, you might stop playing ranked altogether, but if you actually lose some, you'll want to grind that rank that you might "eventually" claim at the end of the season.

Nevertheless when you're blue side you have the advantage of the map so to balance this, red side will have higher elo players. But in really it only affects GM+/Challenger players since the gap can be count in hundreds of lp, you can look at every high elo players side winrate (they always have more games on red side and a great winrate) by yourself on leagueofgraph for exemple.
So basically you have to play 500 games where presumably %35-45 (depending on your true rank) of them will be miserable because of factors outside of your control. That is insane, why even play the game at that point.

Another issue is that riot has no interest in banning smurfs since it artificially increases the „new“ player count which is important for investors and smurfs tend to buys skins therefore making profit for riot.
Smurfs are not a player issue. Smurfs are an issue of the higher up matchmaking taking 30-90mins to find a game. Sure some will still have smurfs. But it sure as hell won't be this many.

The sad part is the fact you don’t even enjoy a win anymore. As a jungle main it’s definitely become the most toxic it’s ever been for us lot - the honour system they made is legit anti jungler since you always get flamed or reported regardless of how well you play.
I do also believe there is a loser queue of sorts where after a certain amount of wins you get paired with people either with abysmal win rates or terrible honour ratings to balance out their bizarre match making method. Yes! My match history now for the last 40-50 games looks like this: 5 straight wins,4 straight losses, 5 straight wins,4-5 straight losses and so on. The system is made to maximize the amount of games you play so they can have player retention but it's working against them. Like it works maybe for the first 100-150 games since you think you can extend the winstreak but if you just look at your match history its a clear pattern. Disgusting.
Losers Q does exist, but there's a trick to it, you can quickly deflate your elo if you have a negative winrate role (don't do Supp, you'll easily get carried, pick mid) where a single lost is a massive strike to your mmr.
I won 17 games in a row from unranked to gold, 17 wins then 1 loss then 2 wins…. Then every single game since then (9 games) I’ve had the absolute scum of the earth chinese named players on my team that literally just run it down. I had a Chinese named adc be 0-9-0 at 12 minutes…. He died almost 1 time a minute for the first 12 minutes of the game.

Im in mid to high Diamond right now and it feels like 20% of games are in my control.
I’m an ADC main and I’m getting auto filled to jg and top a lot. Sometimes I’ll play with Masters players, sometimes there’s a lvl 30 plat account with 100% win rate on the enemy team who is either a GM + Smurf or a scripter.
80% of games are just pure randomness where I have no control over the outcome of the game. On my main account I almost never have over 10 deaths as ADC, I don’t understand how I’m matched with people who die non stop constantly in high diamond games. These people should know how to play safe after going 0/1 in lane

I uninstalled today after two games with afks. The first one an emergency, then jung went afk when we were ahead. second someone went afk after their lane had 3 deaths. we had two drakes and all voidlings.

This comment will get lost amongst the others but I wanted to just mention something that might get forgotten.
"Why are you forced to play through a load of gold players" in regards to that Gwen smurfing. Riot's system does actually have MMR detection for first time Ranked (no prior season) accounts but it uses your normal MMR. The assumption being a new player will have played a bunch of normal games on the xp grind from level 1 to level 30. This system is actually fine imo and gets hate because of a different issue and not fault of it's own.
If that Gwen player had actually played the 100 normal games grinding that account up to level 30 to play ranked, then the system would definitely have placed them in a much higher bracket. But we all know what really happened. That Gwen player did not level that account. You know it, I know it, everyone knows that account was levelled by a bot or someone else and then the Gwen player bought the account. This gives that account the mmr of whoever previously owned it.
The thing about LoL's mmr is that it is quite "sticky". It likes to stay around the same point and not be too impacted by sudden shifts, you see this often when you "reset" every split and still play at against and with the same players or how players who actually make and level their own accounts often get the same rating as their main nearly instantly. But the problem with this is that if someone else levels the account, the system wants to believe the player who levelled it is whatever mmr they were and their insane sudden shift in champion, playstyle and win ratio is luck. It can take a while for these bought accounts mmr to fix itself even when the new owner of the account is completely 1v9ing.

I can vouch for that. I lvled up account not so long ago playing drafts the entire time. I ended up in plat/emerald elo. But there is downside to that. Quickplay/Normal Draft supposed to be a place where you can queue up and play whatever you want. You want to learn new champ/role? That's should be the place for it. But it isn't, people will tryhard, pull off their highers mastery champions because now not only they can boost their ego, they have also a reason to do that, especially on the fresh account. So now instead of Bronze having ruined ranked games, lvl 10 players have their games ruined. It shouldn't be like this, no new player should have his game ruined by ego driven morons regardless if they are playing normal draft or ranked in bronze (let's be honest Quick Play is just cancer center).

Remember: Riot is trying to set this game up to practically run itself (even if it's terrible) so that they can spend nothing and make millions. They do not care about the quality of matches (any elo) because they don't make money off of that. It is really that simple. Don't forget: Tencent. Chinese corporations have nothing but poor reputation for quality control no matter what industry. Because quality control costs money. So they just don't do it. If league players want a major league reform, start praying for China to send boats at Taiwan. I'd bet a kidney we will see WW3 before we see Tencent give Riot the funding they would actually need to make a major reform.
Sounds like the problem lies in the "sticky" MMR then. If an account suddenly started to win 20+ games in a row, it should be skipping divisions instead of being capped at +30 lp per game, regardless of how low it started imo. The faster a smurf climbs, the less games they'll ruin before getting to their rank. But riot doesn't want people to climb fast. They want people to commit to extended playtimes so it looks better.
The list of things that eventually made me quit:
1) Riot Vanguard (the list of things I hate about it would be probably be too long to fit in a YT comment)
2) Removal of useful pings (remember "just type karthus ult"?)
3) DPS going from Damage Per Second to Damage Per Screenshot (fights lasting more than 10s is apparently bad for tiktok viewers retention)
4) €500 Ahri skin

Lee sin is an assassin now. But he still tanks and has low CDs. And he isn't even the worst offender. He's still presented as one of the most balanced and fair champs around and that being true IS a big L for league. If Lee sin is a balance standpoint the game is, and it really is, completelly off.

Whether it be engagement matchmaking or the system “testing” your skill at your rank. There is no excuse. Every game should be as balanced as possible. No matter what it should attempt to create a 50/50 game.
But it’s so obvious that the matchmaking does the exact opposite. It is designed to predetermine how often you should win and lose. Yes you can push your own rank up or down with skill, but every game in isolation is determined what the outcome should be.

The smurfs are an rng element also. Do you get the tryhard going for 90% climb, or do you get the limit tester who does well, but throws on repeat to try 1v5, or the egoer who loses on purpose because they think you dont deserve to win and they have already proven themselves on main

I leveled an account on EUNE to play with my friends, entered my first placement game in Solo queue and got an Alistar mid who was Iron 4 with 0 LP. Next game, I got a Draven smurf who abused bot lane and was 10/0 in the first 12 min. This is all in placements. Next few games went similarly, I ended up winning 2/5 and got placed in Bronze 4. Because of smurfs and trolls on my team. Needless to say, I won't be playing solo q anymore as it literally isn't about skill, but rather luck. The smurfs could've been on my team, but I pulled the short end of the stick.
Flex should be the only queue to exist, and even then there should be restrictions. Like at least 50k points on a champ before you can play it in ranked or something.
I have a big issue with everyone wanting to FF over the smallest inconvenience. I love kayle, play way too much of her mid. Its hard to win before 20 minutes on her so i focus on the farming and getting level 6. The issue is that my top laner just dove a renekton at 50% hp and lost followed by my rengar ganking a vex and spam pinging the level 3 kayle to help him when hes way too deep.
The average IQ of league players have plummeted. I stopped playing ranked recently because it just feels frustrating to be low impact if i pick someone i enjoy, or struggle with a high impact pick because i dont play them that much and dont find their mechancis fun.
League just doesnt feel like its in a good state at the moment.
I think a lesser mentioned issue is the players being part of the problem. A lot of players just play how they want with no consideration for the strengths and weaknesses of other champs.

Games are decided way too quickly now yes. Mostly because people threw tantrums over the games lasting on average 30 minutes. Now it either lasts 15 minutes, or 45 minutes. What an improvement!

I usually sit at a 80-90%WR when tryharding on my OTP in about 25-50 games on a fresh lvl 30.
And most (if not) every single game, espacially in the first 1-20 games, I get 4 hardstucks in my Team who belong to the elo in the MMR Iam in and the enemy team has atleast 1 DUO smurfers and its so disgusting to deal with. Espacially if they are jgl/mid or bot/supp.

Blind Pick being removed is also a huge reason why i quit... Because Quickplay sucksss... You are literally going in 50/50 whether or not you're getting the role you asked for... even then if you get it you still have to be concerned whether or not your team is even decent

Vanguard literally bricked my PC. Twice. I had the same artefacts on my screen as if GPU chip burned. All due to the fact that I use Dr.Web antivirus which is not compatible with Vanguard. Aaaaand 500$ Ahri skin, I thought for a long time that it was like some kind of joke, but turned out to be true. I peaked Diamond 3 as Sett main and a period between Emerald and Diamond was absolutely worst gaming experience I've had in years. Thinking about selling my account. I just play Dota 2 from time to time to feed my urges to play moba which it kinda does (unfortunately there is no Sett in Dota or anything similar) and doesnt make me addicted.
The game is SHIT from any perspective. Client doesn't work properly, game doesn't work properly, solo/duo ranked just doesn't work, balance is nonexistent, new champions are shit, new skins are shit, a lot of bugs are here for years unfixed. And they dont do anything - because, mostly, a lot of people still log in on daily basis. Everyone is just so addicted that there is no reason to do anything.

I think the mmr system is just fucked and should be removed altogether. Put players of a similar rank together and it'll work out far better than putting a 100% win rate draven smurf vs an emerald 49% wr caitlyn. That's just miserable
This is the moment when a simple system works better than a fancy one with a bunch of features. If a person has this rank, it means he deserves to have it, that’s the end. When the system tries to find the “real” rank, the end result is that someone is sitting on gold 3 with +10 / -30 elo and 70% win rate and diamond 2 with +30 / -10 and 30% win rate. The developers thought they were smarterx than us, but in the end they forgot to take off their pants before shitting in the toilet

It's been so bad that I paid for coaching as an adc main because I can't carry gold games anymore. It's more like, the team won't let me. Without me even saying what I thought my rank was, my coach literally said that I play like an emerald player. Funny thing is, I was consistently an emerald adc and now I can't even carry gold games. The quality is so insanely low that it's like I'm bashing my head into the wall everytime I queue. Now I'm getting +15 - 33lp in gold. You have to be so much better than the enemy that it's insane. I mean, my goal is to reach masters one day, but it feels like I have to play like a masters player right now to consistently win games in GOLD.
I think league of legends is an amazing game, but no-one values the competitive experience of ranked anymore and it's becoming miserable. Even 2 splits ago it was so much better.

S13 had more player growth on EUW than S14. S13 was the worst season out of them all so far (most stale season, nothing except jg got changed). So players are quitting for various reasons, but tbh it's the unbelievable amount of griefers and soft trolls that don't get punished. APC support farming mid waves and split pushing, jungler never rotating to any objective and afk full clearing all game. And the worst of all is griefing players that hold you hostage, cause the want you to afk for lp mitigation. Absolutely disgusting.

Ranked is just a mess. Like why is it even LEGAL to have 2-3 autofilled teammates against full main role team. Why negative WR lobbies exist? Its so obvious when the game tries to get you to 50% wr when you are in a winning streak and suddenly you have to play with 3 teammates that´ve lost last 6-8 games in a row. Flaming of course is punished but soft inting keeps being a thing. Meta champs are stronger than ever. WAAAYYY too much mobility. MAGE items being so fucking cheap and stat overloaded as per usual. CC out of control. Elo inflated players playing in lobbies that are 2x their rank. Wtf is this?
It does feel like the game is at it's lowest atm. To me personally, the balancing is insanely shit tier atm, modern champions (nearly all of them from the past 5 years) feel insanely disgusting to go up against (Aurora is gonna be no different). It's been a hot minute since Riot cared about giving a single fuck in regards to respecting their playerbase. Literally the single only good thing that has come out of League in these past years was Arena, SR feels miserable to play.
By the way all of the modern issues with the ranked ladder stem from the removal of smurf queue and that time they "increased" lp gains. I was thinking about making a video on this but im afraid it would fall of deaf ears. Any time you talk about smurf q you get ppl who think they were in smurf queue when they were silver 3 with 60% win rate. It was actually a pretty nuanced system that worked insanely well for controlling game quality but they most likely removed it due to longer queue times.
Smurf q was incredible for the game but people cried about false positives so it got removed. Wish it came back

i reached my peak last split at emerald 2 after playing ranked for last 2-3 years and i’ve always been competitive but i’ve only done my placements this split ended at plat 1 at end of split and i can’t even be bothered to play ranked this season because i’m an ornn otp and it feels like even if i go 5/0/0 in lane before lane ends i have 0 impact in the result because the other team gets one fed carry and i might as well not play the game

I love playing tanjs but the reality is that a tank should not be able to 1v9, even if it's a fed toplaner. Unless you are the only giga fed one in a game, tanks are not designed as 1v9 carries...

I'm sorry but no I'm cheater, and never scripted or what the hell ever, but my computer is new, like bought it 6 months ago, it's nothing too special, but it's a gaming computer. And now that vanguard is a thing, my computer actually freezes sometimes. Like everything on screen freezes for 3-15 seconds then I get to see what's actually happening afterwards. Can't click anything can't use abilities nothing, and this has NEVER happened in the past. It's absolutely crazy. No my memory is not almost full, and no, I have no virus on my computer, I have an anti virus scan. I've had ping issues in the past where it jumps up and it's hard to understand what's actually happening but actual computer freezes? Never in the history of 10 years of playing on different computers and shit has it froze my computer for a little bit. But it happens now, and it really makes me not want to play the game. It would be different if my computer was old, I could kinda understand, but for it to be new and this happening? What the hell is vanguard actually doing with my computer to have such an impact that it freezes my computer? It's unreal man.

This is the worst ranked experience ive ever had this season, it really feels like the majority of games are decided in matchmaking its terrible. I think maybe 1 in 20 games is a balanced matchup its so disgusting
Drafts are ok. Rankings are just sick. Interestingly, in Drafts the matches are more normal and the team can play something and help, while in Ranked... you are alone!
Honestly, all they need to do to curbe smurfing is introduce bonus lp for winstreaks. They have these insane winrates, so they obviously streak often this would force players to their real elo faster, and shouldn't effect normal people much at all.

man ive literally chatted with my team about enemy comp before (in teamchat) in the beginning of the game and got muted for the match cause apparently something i wrote was wrongspeak.. there was no flaming or anything we were just talking about lineup and riot comes and griefs me so that i cant communicate with my team anymore. No wonder nobody types anymore.

Yeah league just isn't fun anymore, i'm almost 60% wr emerald 3, could easily climb to diamond in like a week of playing constantly but i just quit the game because it's pure dissapointment EVERY single match and every single day logging in to this game, people that should get banned still infesting your lobbies, people just giving up after 5 minutes of laning so then you have to be extra tryhard just to barely win the game which mentally exhausts you, no new changes to the game, SHIT microtransactions like the passes make you don't even want to spend money on the game or should i say MACROtransactions *cough cough ahri bundle cough cough*.Oh and don't even make me mention all the new skins they're releasing in the shop like the infernal and faerie court ones where they blatantly reuse assets and put no passion into the skins,making them look like they released 15 years ago. This game is just disgusting and i can't believe im saying this but moving to Fortnite out of all games has been a breath of fresh air, they're releasing content bi-weekly, like actual content, guns,npcs,events,collabs you name it and it's probably in Fortnite. Epic isn't the greatest company ever, they make alot of mistakes and fuck-ups but compared to riot??? night and day. And it's actually surprising the amount of cosmetics you get for completely free, you could be playing without spending a penny for an entire year and after that you're gonna actually have a stacked locker, its crazy, compared to League where after a year you can maybe have what? 10 skins which 8 of them were made in 2009 and are basically chromas, 3 ward skins and 15 icons. The problem is queuing up with random people to play competitively. This formula just ends up as a disaster no matter the elo and game. As long as this option exists and people opt into it, they will end up having a terrible time. There is too much variance/inconsistency in a game where you people with random people. This is the heart of the problem and haven't seen anyone mention this. Overall, the game at it's core is a great, but I avoid modes where you queue up with random people. I'd much rather play solo, 1v1, or with a pre-made group, knowing that I'll enjoy the game with friends and play cooperatively. I guess it depends on how tolerant people are when they face these variances/inconsistencies.

The problem with banning smurfing is that Riot has to decide what smurfing is. To some players, Smurfing is simply ANY player who plays on another account. To other players it is only players who play on another account that is lower than their main. To other players it is playing on an account that is lower that is the same role / champion as your main etc.
We often hear of people wanting to practice new champions or a new role but they get too punished doing it on their main. For those players to practice they have 2 options, 1 play normal games which are almost always horrible quality, they just are. They always have been and always will be I think. Or 2, make a 2nd account that can be used for practicing without hurting their main.
In theory, making the 2nd account here wouldn't be that much of a problem because it's only 1 account and if they are actually playing a 2nd role or a 2nd champion, they will not be at the same level of their main anyway. A new account would give them the chance to find a comfortable level that matches what they are in this role. In theory as long as they never play their main champion or main role, this could / would / should / not be acceptable depending on your own thoughts.
For me, I personally have 3 accounts that are between mid platinum and low gold. On each account I play almost exclusively (auto fill is dumb) one role and so the differences between the accounts represent the differences between my individual skill on the 3 different roles. Someone playing at Gold 4 level in a Platinum 1 game would be reported, but that is the reality if I wanted to swap to jungle from top. My goal would be for all of my accounts to be equal in rating but hey it takes time to learn new champions and it takes time to learn new roles so for now I'll have to settle for my jungle and support gameplay being worse than my top lane.

IMO, the fix is extremely simple. It's already in RIOT's T&S that each player is expected to be playing on a single account. It's just the fact that RIOT doesn't punish anyone abusing this. On contrary, it's encouraged.
If riot wants to fix this, they will do it quite easily. Give an ultimatum to anyone that, from the date of "X" , everyone using multiple accounts will get banned on EVERY account. This fixes the issue.
A more elegant solution though would be I.D. / bank account account link (at least for ranked games). Ofc, you can borrow your mom's card and I.D but I'm pretty sure 98% would be eradicated with this simple change

My silver 2 ass keeps getting paired with Emerald, Diamond and Master players; like where are the Silver or Gold ARAM player (i know ARAM has separate MMR but cmon)????
I try hard to chill and just play but sometimes the skill discrepancy and comp are way too skewed. You just know just know you lost when you see the loading screen and you cant FF till min 12.
Splution to trolls and griefers? Remove that fucking surrender button. The first month will be ass as people throw their tantrums, but game quality in total will improve. That surrender button is the most DERANGED feature Riot ever added.
I was in favour of 15 mins ff as something like 90% of games that were were 4-1 to ff ended in a loss but I’ll admit i think its a mistake. 20 minute ff minimum again pls

that way people can hostage you for even longer wasting your time. Remove FF and you'll see a lot more people opening lanes for the enemy to end faster (if they don't feel like making it even worse by extending the game on purpose).

I agree that placement is all kinds of hell right now. I've been fighting for my life in Bronze 1 for that sweet 27 LP.
I know I'm not the best, but I think the system believes I should be around Silver 3, since that's the majority of matchups I get. Oddly, though, that usually includes those in silver who are Plat and Gold peakers on their climb up. After running into them, I currently sit around a 48% wr.
In my last 10 ranked matches I went 5-5, 3 of those losses at the hands of climbing plat peakers. The hope is still alive, though, as I've mentally refined my champ pool and playstyle for the future.

it's honestly how disgusting and inflated the ladder is, the amount of shit players that still somehow climb and inflate themselves because they can just "spam meta champs and climb" is so high, for me personally the biggest issues has to be elo inflation (at least for highelo) and the fact that griefers/inters just never get punished no matter what and also because the game's state took an insane turn for the worst over the last few seasons (s11-12 for me were the last "decent" seasons we had). I've also seen an insane amount of ppl that get "losers queue" and they seem to just not be able to get out of it or whatever else and they end up deciding to quit ranked all together. No idea what people in lower elos will say or what their reasoning might be as to quitting league or ranked or whatever it is, but it's probably smurfs for them which I can understand, playing vs people who are much higher rank than u can be frustrating.

@@TheNyancat07 not really, yeah new accounts can get u higher but if ur a silver player you will still be in silver or max gold, new accounts start in silver and unless they have a good normal mmr they won't start in anything higher than gold 3 (which is the current maximum for new fresh accounts with good normal mmr) otherwise you'll end up back in silver. Riot already tried fixing those dame new accounts so instead of playing in emerald or play in ur very first game even as a new player, u now play in silver or gold

And when I start a new account I easily get it to master+ but once it reaches that same mmr and I get the same old shitty players it's the same old story. I'm pretty sure riot just want u to have 50% winrate at most on ur account and that's it.
