Well, realistic dress not really possible for Smash 4 yet. So they treat those dress psychic as part of her feets. Ultimate fixed that issue, thankfully.
And speaking of realistic dress, look at the dress animation of both version at 3:59. 4:49 is a great example as well. Wii U version noticeably had a clipping issue from her dress, which was fixed to Ultimate.
She just doesn't have her animations mirrored, which makes sense she has both her obviously asymetrical hair and carries a wand in one of her hands. If her animations were mirrored, her big hair chunk would switch sides constantly and her wand would switch hands as well.

Gives the impression that he's actually throwing the star bits. -Liking the visual changes to the Final Smash with the starry background and Grand Star instead of Power Star. -I actually like the faster animation of taunt #3.
I really wished that she used the Comet Observatory for her Final Smash, I mean after all most characters have a new Cinematic Final Smash so why not her?
Perfectly it could be like Olimar's Final Smash, but instead of using the rocket and making an explosion, the enemies can receive damage because they're not in the screen
Now that I look at it it does look like a highlighter mess in smash 4 smash ultimate is just more expressive and vibrant I can’t imagine what the next smash game is like

The dress color is a little more accurate now, tho it's a little sad that the star pattern is less noticeable now. At least with the default dress color. In Sm4sh it twinkles and shines much more. Also her hair and skin tone are more accurate in Sm4sh than Ultimate I think. They made her a little more bright.
It looks like they made her slightly taller while also shortening the duration and distance of several moves. Overall I'd say she got nerfed. But the aesthetic changes to her skin, final smash, and crouch animation are so much better.

Just imagine it! A group of Luma’s captures the fighters as Rosalina jumps in the air and activates the Comet Observatory and launching it towards the fighters that were captured.
Juna Glacierz19 or she keeps the opponents in a Pull Star like effect like how she pulls Mario back to the ship when he falls off the Comet Observatory, even with the rainbow after images.
Wow, her animations look so much smoother now, and her look is more consistent with her other appearances... but what am I saying? Nintendo always gets it right.
I’ve just noticed that Luma looks angry when shielding. Like, “You won’t hurt mama!” I’ve also noticed, namely with the slow-mo shots. She’s not necessarily the most graceful fighter. Like with the ledge roll, she kinda just throws herself around.

She’s hard to play in this game! So many of her moves were changed to make her more balanced but now she is just bad. Luma does so easily to sword characters and OMG Link is so annoying he kills Lima so quickly with his stupid boomerang and arrows. Rosalina alone is very bad but together they have potential. I feel like they nerfed her so much and I hope the my rebalance her by making Luma live longer or something.

Physically talking she and Luma are now designed with more ''warm'' colors. Rosalina's skin tone is less palid in Ultimate compared to 4, her's blonde hair too and the same examples goes to Luma.
Certain Fighters may have direction based taunts based on which direction the fighter is facing. In this case, Rosalina & Luma’s down taunt can be a different looking taunt rather than a reversed taunt is she and it’s looking in the opposite direction before taunting. In another case, Captain Falcon’s “Show me your moves.” taunt can be different if Captain Falcon is facing away from the screen, in which he will look back to the screen and taunt with a different hand pose.
I'm new to Smash and just got Smash 4 to see if I'd like the game. I love Rosalina and I gotta say my favorite thing about her visuals is her dress and it's color. I have been wondering why it's so much more blue (or cyan) but I think it still looks great on her and the texture of that dress is... somewhat better than in Ultimate imo. But Ultimate does make it color accurate. At least based on this video. The video might not do it justice because once I actually got Smash 4 and stopped looking at it on RUclips.... I couldn't stop staring at her dress. She is so mesmerizing to witness. All that power, beauty and grace. Edit: Nice crouching and jump neutral attack change.
I noticed that Luma doesn’t cover much space in ultimate compared to 4. The neutral attacks covered more ground in 4 but in ultimate, Luma is more closer to rosalina.
FYI, the way they censored Rosalina is worse than what they did to Peach and Daisy i mean, unlike Peach and Daisy, she doesn't even have her whole legs for god's sake
I think it's cool, it shows that she's a powerful entity instead of being a mere human like Peach and Daisy. These stars inside her dress make her badass in my opinion.
Cmg Villager me too! She is pale in the original game but I think Ultimate’s colors look too over saturated. Even Zelda and Palutena don’t look as pale as they used too. Well Zelda is different maybe that version is more of a rosy color instead of TP’s pale skin.
The texture quality for Smash 4 Rosa was vastly superior. Most apparent in the creases in her dress and the shading in her hair. It's ironic that the switch couldn't emulate this contrast despite its atrocious post processing gamma curve.
Rosalina is the only veteran in which I don't prefer her Ultimate version over her Smash Wii U version. I prefer her dress, face and hair from Smash Wii U (mostly the way they looked than the colors), and also up and down taunts. I also prefer her old back and down throws, I don't think these new energetic animations fit her as much, the old were calmer and more elegant. (But her new slightly different forward and up throw animations are cooler) However, I prefer her new neutral aerial, her fixed crouching/crawling animation, her new air dodge, her updated final smash, with the Grand Star and starry night background added. I also like how you can see now a "galaxy" effect inside her dress, really cool!
I like the old dress more, but SHES NOT EVEN CRAWLING SHES SITTING AND FLOATING NEAR THE GROUND LIKE WHAT THE HECK ON THE OLD VERSION, and I hate how luma isn’t overpowered anymore ;(

I'll definitely say that Sm4sh Rosa is more 1-to-1 with Galaxy's look; with the darker filter like Galaxy 1 and 2 had. And while Ultimate's design is more fluid and polished with the dress and her hair. She's very bright, and missing a piece of that 'Calm' aura she gives off to me. And strangely, the lumas seem to have similar differences in vice versa: Sm4sh Luma is Illuminated more, and Ultimate's looks like its straight from the game.

I just noticed her up air is very different and why it’s not overpowered anymore. In Smash 4 Luma would perform a flip and a kick and in Ultimate Luma just punches upward. The range has been significantly reduced because Luma covered more space with the flip and kick.

You're an idiot if you don't think there's a difference
I just noticed her up air is very different and why it’s not overpowered anymore. In Smash 4 Luma would perform a flip and a kick and in Ultimate Luma just punches upward. The range has been significantly reduced because Luma covered more space with the flip and kick.
