Doubt it. Characters that have been in the game once (like brawl only characters) are more likely to be replaced than characters that have been in multiple smash bros games.
Well luma looked like he was a seperate character. cause ice climbers attacked the same person unless with that ice breath move where it goes both ways. maybe its like pokemon trainer and you can choose to bring him out or have him out already.
And why would they replace the Ice Climbers? If they made it into Brawl I don't see why they wouldn't be in this game. I know about the statement that they were having difficulties with the Ice Climbers AI on the 3DS, but I assume since they can have Rosalina and Luma that those problems have been fixed. Plus, the Ice Climbers are popular characters.
So she has the ability to attract items, is able to repel energy attacks and get them going behind her, and she can attack 2 people at the same time. HACKS!
She's also a large and yet light character (Sakurai confirmed that despite her height she's really light) and she also seems pretty slow. She doesn't really seem that much overpowered, although I'm sure some of the best players can pull off some insane combos with her.

Well, even though Sakurai implied that this game is going to be much better balanced in competetive gameplay than the previous smash games, I think Rosalina will go the same way as ICs when it comes to the tier list. Gonna start off as mid tier a few years untill some guy finds out what amazing things you can do with the mulitchar and she'll raise up the tier rankings to top tier. Called it.

I finally got to try Rosalina and Luma at Best Buy this morning! It was really fun. She's actually a really, really slow character, but she is also very heavy and can take a lot of hits. It's even possible for her to survive Little Mac's KO punch if she's at zero percent. For some reason the B button for sending out Luma wasn't working on my controller, so it led me to mostly fighting with the A smashes. Overall, she was probably the most challenging character to use on the demo roster. I hope people can get good with her once the game comes out! (I just preordered the game without even getting a Wii U yet, LOL)
Her style looks kinda reminiscent of how Golbez fights in the Dissidia Final Fantasy games, in that, when they attack, they can hit both at a close range and from a distance at the same time.
rosalina is not so har if you use her to attack first before luma attacks u need to do the sprint attack and rosalinas other attack and use her smash attack at once so that if the enemy comes back and hes not been smash strongly use luma to attack
Love these announcement trailers, they are really well-done and successfully build the hype. These could probably double as TV advertisements as well once the game(s) get closer to release

So what I'm seeing is a mix between Peach's mobility options, Olimar's summon ally ability, and Ice Climbers tandem attacks. All with their own spin to make them unique to Rosalina. Good on Nintendo, can't wait to play this game.

I'm really surprised that they made it a generic yellow luma instead of Polaris. Maybe they figured that people unfamiliar with SMG would find the little black star strange. Either way, I really hope they have an alternate color for her where the luma is black.
When Rosalina made her debut in Super Mario Galaxy, I would have never imagined in a hundred years that she'd be playable. I just thought she was an ethereal character who would only appear in like one game or two. It was a bit surprising to see her in Mario Kart Wii, but now I'm totally happy that they made more out of her character with Super Mario 3D world and Smash Bros

Rosalina & Luma will always be my favorite smash characters. Galaxy is my favorite Mario game of all time, so when I saw the launch star in the trailer, that nostalgic feeling just swept over me as I realized what I was seeing. Also F to Waluigi.
Well Luma & Rosalina is definitely a good choice, but I don't see any other possible Mario chars except maybe Geno I suppose. I still want to see: *Shadow, Lloyd Irving, Krystal, Gannodorf* (not Falcondorf) with the sword from Twilight Princess giving him a completely revised move set, *Dixie Kong, King K. If you watch closely, you'll see that the Luma is different colored every time she creates one. I'm assuming Polaris will be one of the colors.

When Rosalina made her debut in Super Mario Galaxy, I would have never imagined in a hundred years that she'd be playable. I just thought she was an ethereal character who would only appear in like one game or two. It was a bit surprising to see her in Mario Kart Wii, but now I'm totally happy that they made more out of her character with Super Mario 3D world and Smash Bros
She's also going to be playable in mario kart 8. She's already playable in super mario 3D world now.

Rosalina was a human but somehow achieved immortality when traveling with Luma. The introduction in Mario Galaxy suggests that she is "ancient".

Galaxy is my favorite Mario game of all time, so when I saw the launch star in the trailer, that nostalgic feeling just swept over me as I realized what I was seeing.

Well Luma & Rosalina is definitely a good choice, but I don't see any other possible Mario chars except maybe Geno I suppose.
I still want to see: *Shadow, Lloyd Irving, Krystal, Gannodorf* (not Falcondorf) with the sword from Twilight Princess giving him a completely revised move set, *Dixie Kong, King K. Rool, Mewtwo, Roy, Snake, Sylux, Galacta Knight* (could be a skin for Meta Knight), *Zero* (I just know he won't be in...), *Protoman* (could be a skin for Mega Man if nothing else), *General Scales* (off the wall I know, but I think he'd be an awesome villain from Star Fox: Adventures), *Ridley*, and *Ghriahim/Demise*.
I love the amount of detail they put into her, if you look close enough you can see stars on her dress that shine
