Some of my favourite changes: 1) Changing jab 1 to a palm strike as a kinda-sorta explanation as to why it's a combo hit unlike jab 2. 2) Flame effects on neutral special, though that goes for Ultimate as a whole. 3) The spin and explosion on side special. They give the move some more flair and impact. 4) Aerial up special making the spikes much more pronounced.
I agree with pretty much everything here, but I think one thing is a tad downgraded from Wii U. Spinning in his shell for down smash is perfect, but the raking with his claws is a bit generic, isn't it? I know did it to differentiate it from Up B, but still. If I had to do it, I'd keep the spin, but have him stick his arms and legs out. Same range, better utility, and it gives him a bit of the goofiness he's missing in Smash.
@@tumbletunes3101 to be fair if they kept the down smash bowser would spin in his shell for 3 moves. Down smash, grounded up B, and up throw. Love it tho

There's also more of a destinct pushing motion to some of his attack. Take for example his forward smash he actually pushes his legs outward this time. Also is it just me or is he just bigger in general?

Something I just noticed watching this is that Bowser's eyes don't move in Smash 4. They're stuck in their forward-facing state, which really shows in his dodge-rolls and ledge-rolls. While I still don't quite think we've reached peak Bowserness in Smash yet, the animated mouth during idle (another thing I never noticed) and the moving eyeballs really flesh him out as more than just a monster.

Bowser's so expressive in this game and I love it! I much prefer how he actually closes his mouth, in a lot of games(especially smash) it just hangs open awkwardly. The darker skin color makes him look a lot more natural than his normal bright yellow, first time I've preferred a Smash Bowser design to the official Mario one! It reminds me of older renditions, specifically SMB3(that's probably the point). Now I'll just wait for the day when they finally give Bowser the ability to breathe his classic fireballs and give him some actual armor/invincibility on his shell attacks.

I loved how they remade bowser for sm4sh. The old bowser felt way too slow, clunky and his shell felt way too big, like... he was actually a turtle in smash, like how he runned weird.

Do you think you'll add the new stuff (ledge attack, etc.) to Mario and Luigi in another video? You could do it after you finish doing the Mario series and maybe add the recovery attack.
Alex.EXE I'd have to say luigi and ken. My playstyle is up in yo face and I'm just looking for an agressive and fast charecters to use. Palutena is pretty cool but I'm still looking for my main
this may be an unpopular opinion, but i don't much like Ultimate Bowser... he doesn't even look like his render icon. his head a smidge too large, his hair is some weird pastel neon color, and his skin is all just too dark and mucky. he may a bit like Melee Bowser, but it doesn't really match this "upright" less hunched-over monstrous design. (i'm partial to the orange Paper Bowser actually or classic green like Super Mario World, so i'm rarely satisfied, haha.)
Probably only Bowser Jr., but I'm willing to put in some of the other koopalings with him if I can figure out which animations differ. I haven't looked into it yet. Doing a full showcase for each koopaling is very unlikely.
I could start adding item animations, but I figured I could make that a video of its own on the side, showing all of the characters at once. The main focus of these videos is the base moveset, so basically what they can do without items (aside from their final smash).
@@Catthatisblue Washed out isn't grey. The lighting in ultimate is actually way brighter than smash 4 which likely why characters had their pallets toned down, to make them easier on the eyes. However there are still characters like Mario who pop way more than any previous incarnations.

Do you think you'll add the new stuff (ledge attack, etc.) to Mario and Luigi in another video?
You could do it after you finish doing the Mario series and maybe add the recovery attack.
It's possible! Not entirely sure. Maybe I could throw it in with Dr. Mario at the end of the video.
not a fan of the new colors on the render
Great video! Who's your favorite character Mr.exe?
Favorite right now is a mix of Mega Man, Palutena, and Falco! How about you?
Alex.EXE I'd have to say luigi and ken. My playstyle is up in yo face and I'm just looking for an agressive and fast charecters to use. Palutena is pretty cool but I'm still looking for my main
Follow up to anyone looking at this. I used wii fit trainer, mewtwo, king dedede and wolf now. I like their combos and finesse.
I love this Bowser but my only complain is the voice, im not saying that he should talk, im saying that the voice actor should do the grunts
Good job, keep it up!
I LOVE that shield animation
With every new instalment, Bowser stands more upright than before
Looks more agressive in ultimate
A thing I never knew was that coward throw he uses his horns to throw the opponent
oh yeah the coward throw
this may be an unpopular opinion, but i don't much like Ultimate Bowser... he doesn't even look like his render icon. his head a smidge too large, his hair is some weird pastel neon color, and his skin is all just too dark and mucky. he may a bit like Melee Bowser, but it doesn't really match this "upright" less hunched-over monstrous design.
(i'm partial to the orange Paper Bowser actually or classic green like Super Mario World, so i'm rarely satisfied, haha.)
I never knew bowser used his horns for his f throw till seeing it here
The music of Mario 64 gives me good old memories...
Ultimate Bowser down smash: front and back claw
Smash 4 Bowser: BAYBLADE!!!!!!
Oh look my main my mascot Bowser in battle, let's go
I think Bowser had better colors in Smash 4 than in Ultimate
I LOVE THIS VIDEOS
The Ultimate Bowser looks so much better than his WiiU version!
Bowser has just been standing taller every game
They made his skin too dark in this game
That sounds kinda racist if someone were to take it out of context.
ObnoxiousArtist When a reply has more likes than the comment.
Bowser has never looked better
The title of this video should have been "Giant, Fire breathing turtle monster beats up singing balloon fairy for 10 minutes and 41 seconds.
Have a question
Are you gonna make a comparision of all the koopalings, or only for Bowser.Jr?
Probably only Bowser Jr., but I'm willing to put in some of the other koopalings with him if I can figure out which animations differ. I haven't looked into it yet. Doing a full showcase for each koopaling is very unlikely.
The thumbnail looks like you caught him in the middle of playing with his legos.
Me when I looked at the thumbnail:
WAIT SMASH4 LOOKED THAT BAD!?!?!?!
Dudes got some luscious hair in ultimate
He looks better in Smash 4 tbh.
The only thing that bothers me now is the white highlight outline they added, I wonder what's the purpose of it.
That remix of the Bowser boss fight from Mario 64 is sick do you have a link for that
Oh look it's my boi
can't wait for you to do Ganondorf
Bowser is so funny😅
Bowser's look in Ultimate is ok expect for his horns and mouth in my opinion.
I just noticed bowsers tail!
That Odyssey Bowser music is noise.
I'm not sure if it's in the video but isn't there a unique animation for when they hold up certain items like the extra stock flag?
I could start adding item animations, but I figured I could make that a video of its own on the side, showing all of the characters at once. The main focus of these videos is the base moveset, so basically what they can do without items (aside from their final smash).
How did they mess up his colors so bad?
they didnt, they were making him look more gritty and dark, kinda like how he looked in melee
The whole game looks grey
@Carl Johnson
If the game looks gray to you then you may need to get your eyes checked
@@crocogators its clearly washed out youre lying to yourself
@@Catthatisblue Washed out isn't grey. The lighting in ultimate is actually way brighter than smash 4 which likely why characters had their pallets toned down, to make them easier on the eyes. However there are still characters like Mario who pop way more than any previous incarnations.
Bowser : Mario es un loser
Mario: fack you Bowser
And I really really want a Wii u
I think he is faster than ever now in the ultimate
They change his jump animation again
Mario 64 soundtrack remixed
Maybe it's because I've never really played a Mario game, but I much prefer the Smash version of Bowser. I just can't take the Mario game version seriously.
Nice flex and all but, why does smash 4 look like brawl now?
I wish they gave the characters new voice clips... I'm tired of hearing edgy Mario and animal sounds for Bowser and DK
Why edgy Mario?
Fortuner nx
Yes
I like the Wii u bowser more
Pls do sonic
Wow his color palette really sucks, there's barely any contrast between the colors and he doesn't pop out as much as Smash4 Bowser.
is most likely this specific stage with the lighting, most characters look different on certain stages in ultimate, in sm4sh it was the same regardless of stage I believe
Quadraxis I think it was a conscious choice. He looks more like Melee Bowser here.
It’s weird that his artwork and in the character select screen he looks one way, and in game he looks so different, in the official art he looks fantastic, it’s a very odd choice really.
What? He looks like Brawl Bowser in 4, he's much better in Ultimate
Do Ganondorf! :D
