The amount of respect he has from the industry is so rad. Good to see people like Ryan get the spotlight.
Skate after school is so sick and important I’m so stoked it exists.
watch his pocket skate mag video he gets into it more
No way my man Joa is in a Vice interview
He dont know u bro
@@Frostsgfxdamn bro who hurt you
The new Jerry Hsu.

i think ryan lay is gonna be an important figure in skateboarding for a really long time
Keep dreamin
Never thought I'd see the day they got gifted hater in epically later'd. Love it
Where's the Epicly Later'd on Joa? Our boy out here still skating after overcoming his crippling Batman addiction.
Nora hating Joa 🤣 gold
she's got crazy girlfriend vibe

Nora is a gifted lover
I don't understand the animosity. He didn't even dis her
Vice please please keep dropping new episodes. Epicly Later'd 4 life
I've never even skated and I love this series. So good!
Go sub to the Epicly Later’d RUclips channel.
Patrick said recently that there’s like 6-7 episodes that vice has in the vault. But since Vice is basically going under anything new after that will be on Patrick’s personal channel.
@@Wildest_Wahoofinally something good came from vice
Plenty of skateboarding channels and people to follow. This has always been and still is outside of Vice's niche. Don't understand how they have kept the skating videos up, when they can clearly see it's not reaching the audience. It's actually RIP Vice, they aren't going to make a comeback with this tjit.
We need Gifted to do a tier list of the featured skaters in this video lol
Damn Ryan does up to 35 miles a day and uses an inhaler, this man is a beast.
Gifted hater.. You either love him or hate him.. Spanky hit the nail on the head in describing him and his content. With that said I love him skateboarding and the culture behind it needs a person like him! Great episode can't wait for the rest!!!
right!
nah he a sellout fg
What did spanky say
If you go to 15:10 in the video (specifically 15:50 is where Spanky talks about him), they start talking about gifted hater being on sci fi fantasy@@danielsummerour
Burnett “ the fucking insult blogger” lol so butt hurt that joa called his out too for being an x games judge saying it wasn’t very hellride 😂
Ryan’s skating is so structured and he has the best bag of tricks. I’ve been following him on IG for maybe 3 or 4 years but had no idea that he was in his mid 30s or had this long of a history in the industry
Whatch his happy medium parts
Ryan was at KTR in Arizona helpin out for the week, had the privilege meeting him before Welcome. Genuine good person me and my dad gave him a gift card to some restaurant in the area and you could see the authenticity in his smile and thanks never forget seein that as a kid I’m now 21. Big ups Ryan never forget ya!
I met him at Slow Impact and he signed my board. Very cool guy overall.
They got Joa 🤣
They were room mates
was lookin for this comment
Powell got u
Joa looking like a lesbian in the interview lol
@@Restinpeacetompennyoh my god they were roomates
This is a huge video for the AZ skate community super stoked to see all the dudes in the interviews and Ryan getting the recognition he deserves. Super cool to learn hes into trail running and through hiking.
Laughing at the shot of him pouring bottled water into a filter and drinking it in the hotel room.
He tryna be healthy. Good job Ryan.
Bottled water can still be pretty trash
Gotta filter out the micro plastics
Thanks Patrick so glad the show is still going, and after vice I hope you continue on RUclips🤘
Nora and Joa should just get a pretzel at the mall and skate together, talk it thru. I mean they probably both like SpongeBob.
Ryan is a freaking machine!
Why? There's nothing to talk through? She wants the old skate industry of fake positively. We past that.
@@johnmeehan7884 I would find their conversation interesting based on the difference in perspectives.
How convenient that Nora and Burnett are talking down on Joa, both were roasted with some class in the past 😅🔥
Nora seems so bitter 😂
Joa the champion
What is the context/background for someone not in the loop?
@@Jay22222 Joa pretty much called Nora out for being obnoxious towards a pedestrian who was on it's own right to walk on the sidewalk, check his video "Big Boy Bandit, Berrics Update, Shecksy Time (Hateline)"
@@chimichawngaof what??!?!? 😂😂😂
Ryan if you’re reading this, my grandfather went to Arizona in like 2007 and brought me back a deck from a place called Freedom Board shop, I knew nothing about it but I found them on MySpace and I’m pretty sure you were featured on there as a team rider. I’ve been following you ever since and it’s amazing to see how far you’ve come.
He got a really good heart for the kids 🙏🏽
i always feel better after watching these, THANKS PAT
Burnett’s hating solidifies sci fi as something very different and important to the skateboarding community.
Nah he literally compliments it in this video
dont know the guy personally but always liked his skating, very refreshing to see someones perseverance. proud of you ryan! very inspiring.
Had no idea ryan was a freak of nature athlete
Great job Ryan Lay! All of Mesa , Reed skate park, is glad you're alive.
Ryan is one the best humans I’ve ever met. Extremely nice and humble
thank you for premiering this in tempe it was surreal
ryan is one of my favs. thanks for the episode!
these recent episodes have been so rad, the people leading skating now are awesome
Best skater and best dude all around! Thanks for doing this piece on him because more people need to know about this legend!
What a beautiful location for a hike.
California is filled with beautiful locations

So beautiful. I've never heard about Ryan. But I'll never forget now.
Thank u for putting in a scene where he stops to eat during his trail. I was like how is this man doing a hike without having breakfast.
lol Nora being all butthurt and in the next seconds the explanation why GH is such a force to be reckoned with: Articulate criticism - I love him for his takes for sure.
And Ryan is just a divine spirit.
I genuinely love the way he skates too.
The mom's basement comment just reeked of surface level dislike too. Can't articulate why she doesn't like him the way he can the things he doesn't in skating.
@@Chris-uh5vv absolutely agree. I remember some road trip video from Welcome and Nora appearing to me as such an obnoxious big mouth. Those call outs from GH seem to really hit their marks where they should also with Burnett not being able to avoid a gruff comment.
its so funny how shes mad about little things hes bugge her about in the past like search up "Big Boy Bandit, Berrics Update, Shecksy Time (Hateline)" hes just talking about how they were being dicks to a random pedestrian in the way of their slappy curb that is located in a public park or walking trail or something then nora was laughing like a witch and joa said "go back to your cauldron" butthurt over nothing
i think i just found my new favorite skater. thank you for this video!
Such a wholesome skater loved it
One of the best street skateboarders and role models of the modern skateboard era. Thank you for all you do for skateboarding!❤
WONDERFUL. Psyched on the show being back, psyched on Ryan
Great episode, Watching Ryan skate nollie is beautiful. Gifted hater is also a treasure
Yeah Patrick! Another incredible episode. So affirming.
Super Cool Stuff! Appreciate you Ryan for rocking our gear! 🙌
Thanks for this one, Patrick. Love Ryan Lay. He’s like the big brother, guidance councillor, and mature, positive role model skateboarders need; especially little rascals like Joa.
Was honored to have watched this early at Slow Impact AZ wishing for it to become annually cause it has been the sickest time I’ve been to both! It’s a 3 day oasis of skateboarding, skating related topics n talks with interesting panels, skate seshes, art shows and video premieres it’s the best thing to come out of this desert I call home, love you Ryan ❤️ Hwy 60 and Val Vista alumni
Shoutouts Ryan Lay….amazing skater and human being….Patagonia or Gramicci need to sponsor this man so he can keep living his dreams!
Seems like a perfect fit for Patagonia
He fits his Kavu sponsorship pretty well. Cool smaller trendy outdoor fashion brand
Lmao the giftedhater reactions are hilarious, sooks
Damn I love this dude. I played against him in the ES game of skate in 2014 and he is so on point with all of his tricks.
I saw him on a NEW BALANCE video part and I thought he had a rad style😁✌🏾 glad to get to know his background story
22:14 makes a lot of sense. You can see it in so many skateboarders that it gives them a sense of calm and control. The perfect balance of persistence, pain, and pleasure.
I love Epicly Later'd
He makes Arizona proud I’ll tell you that much!
This was rad! Great ep.. Respect all involved
Guarantee he already did switch flip back nosegrind 180, he’s the best
Amazing! I wish this was hours longer!
This was just wonderful.
best human ever, deserves everything and more
always wished he got more coverage, great watch ty
Nora’s response about gifted hater was the best part of the video bar none
You're as fragile as her.
That ledge Ryan got jacked on in Joa’s blog during the Sci fi trip was insane!
Awesome content! Thanks for this!
i was put onto this guy because of his Etnies part when that came out (really underrated part). i'm glad he stuck with skating and is working with Jerry Hsu. thats gotta be a trip
Love this series. Ryan seems like a solid dude. Great skater, too. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode 👏👏👍👍
best series
Amazing skateboarder and person! Thank you for what you and Skate Pal have been doing in Palestine.
thanks for making this videos!
Wow. I had no idea how rad of a dude Ryan is. Really inspiring.
If he did 175 miles of hiking in 5 days, I can only imagine what those long skate seshes look like!
Been waiting for a Ryan Lay trail running part for a minute
skateboarding has always been the answer... i love u, skateboarding. Gratitude.
So glad these are back! To quit Nike and somehow still end up on top is pretty amazing. The mini episode on gifted hater was pretty cool too!
OGs remember Epicly Later’d series was one of Vice's first videos in youtube. Going back to the roots?
what an awesome guy. first really interesting episode of the new bunch
This was awesome and inspiring
Great episode ✨👍🏼
I love Patrick O’Dells transformation from young energetic guy in the early vids to now “I’m interested in hiking…”, his voice now sounding noticeably older.
This is my favorite one since the Cardiel episode
This was a great video, well done vice 👍
