- This is the Dylan Episode condensed into 1 part. I got the episode sent to me like this from someone who worked there. I don't know who did the condensing or why, but I'm posting it because its a little different than the one on Vice's RUclips which is in 4 parts.
I love the old epicly laterds cause they just feel like time capsules of those times
That's what all old videos and photos are but yeah I got what you mean these are a very special time in skateboarding
@@vancouverbill peak skateboarding
It was a nice time to grow up.
21 years in September.
Often imitated, never duplicated
ONG
bumped into him on the street in lower manhattan like a decade ago. I completely fanned out and he was really cool about it lol. Man is a legend.
so cool!
I remember bumping into him at the Tribeca skatepark like a year or two after the Gravis part. He was really nice when I rode up and told him how much I loved that part, and fucking hell was he a joy to watch skate in person. So smooth, and he seemed to just float around that place. Gone way too soon. If I could bring any 5 people from history back from the dead he would probably be one of them.
Why are you lying?
@@seansurdovel2148 why are you also lying wth
@@jonasgrnbek7113 no lies here man. New York is a small place.
A style like no other. RIP Dylan forever🌹
One of my favorite skaters of all time
Reallu? Why?
great style!

I’m so glad u started ur own RUclips and we don’t gotta depend on vice no mo
Facts
I didn't even realise... NO vice is the best way to go. #propagandaod
Big influence in my life. His gravis part and cherry part for supreme is something else.
No words can explain
Best clips ever
Dylan forever🥀
Dylan had such good style. I judged a Osiris sponsored contest in the early 2000’s and Dylan and Marius were there and about 12 years old. This was before either of them blew up. Dylan took 1st and Marius 2nd.
Was evan mirschel also there? Might have spelled his last name wrong. He was am for Osiris and was really good. At the time he was one of the best skaters from my hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. He would have became pro most likely. He stopped skating I think and kinda disappeared.
@@photosynthesis69sorry don’t remember. Dylan and Marius who the only two who really stood out to me at the time.
I can't believe he was upet about his mindfield part. That's so insane to me. He did so many cool/interesting tricks. Especially that front grind to back 180 into the bank. That part was amazing
I perfer mindfield to his other parts i feel like his personality just oozes through that vid its a classic part
Love life to its fullest, we’re the lucky ones. RIP Dylan
damn.. to be that talented.. overcome drugs.. and then hit with cancer or whatever he had.. such a shame..
according to mark lowblow he never overcame drugs... just took small breaks to film, but mark lowblow lies and makes shit up so who knows
@D_H_13 he's probably right.. I went from being a college grad to a heroin addict for almost a decade.. it's really hard to overcome.. the last 4 years I've been sober aside from being on methadone. Moved outta Philly.. went from 160mg down to 26mg right now.. month long take homes.. physical addiction is no joke and I didn't take that seriously enough in my early 20s when I was much more driven and creative.. thought I could overcome anything..
But Dylan did die from an illness right?? He didn't OD or something.. I thought/hope.. either way.. such a loss.. I'm also really into Elliott Smith (my favorite musician) and I know he was too.. I just noticed he even has a tattoo that says Smith on his hand!
@@toneohm no one asked junjue
@@DaftKing-ho6ori do. Im interested. Stop being a dick. Doesnt serve any purpose
@toneohm he had lukemia.
Its hard to watch this , he was my fav skater and him dying so young was really unbelievable tbh
Glad you made this it's own channel!! Only thing on Vice I wanted to see.
Great to see a dude that saw success early in life and didnt completely lose his life over drugs and booze. Thats especially hard to do in the sports and entertainment world where its basically encouraged to get litty. He reminds me of Chad Muska where he did the party life and club scene, got way outta hand and distracted him from skating, then had a redemption.
Dill: “But he never had a drinking problem.” Greatest shit ever!!! Hahahaha.
One of the greatest of all time. I remember when I first saw his skating it was unlike anything I’d seen before. He redefined style and trick selection. When I heard he had passed I was truly shocked. Such a young guy at the peak of his prime. It was hard to accept. God bless him and may his legend live on.
this ep was one of your best ever, pat... thanks so much for all the reuploads (and initial work, of course)
I can already tell this is going to be a tough one to watch. RIP Dylan
a part 2 of this would be amazing.
I agree. Though, Dills episode covers a lot of the end of his life.
Dill can barely form a sentence bro
@@jimmyberry4451Dill was on heroin for a long time but I think he’s sober now
His Gravis part is in my top 3 of all time, it’s so good
Gone too soon...
damn, wake up and watch this. good start to the day. could we re visit...... year's later? This episode needs a follow up. I only wear his shoes, because of this episode. Thanks Pat.
This is way after I left skating but respect Dylan. Rest easy 💔
Rad having these and seeing the Epicly Later’d channel!! ❤
the fact you got Heath Kirchart to open up is incredible
Patrick, are there any plans on another episode of Dylan with his more grown up footage (True blue part and others after Mindfield)? His style in later part of his career went to best in the business for sure!
Man im so glad you knew this guy needed a documentary rip
"You can give Dylan all the shit you want , but he just looks great" rip Dylan #trueblue 🌹
WE NEED DYLAN THE MOVIE! ur so missed and loved TRUE BLUE ! 💙
RIP one of the best of all time. Such a big inspiration
the man, the legend. most influential skater of all time or at least top 3 in my opinion
dylan's an icon, so many pros have him as their favorite for good reason
Whenever I see a new Epicly Later'd I immeditaltey watch it from beginning to end
RIP LEGEND!!! A style that is one of a kind!Remember always seeing him share a part with Diego with the Ramones playing in Subject to change. Dylan Forever!!!
Long live Dylan Rieder! His skateboarding/style will forever be engraved in my brain! I remember watching him gap out to that kinked rail in SLS Kansas City killing it! Only one to be flipping off the camera! Dude was dope af and didn't give af. Thank you for posting this, it made my day :')
The amount I miss dude is unreal.
funny how dill turned into that "upriver" dude...even Ave which sucks..
It's funny hearing him talk about being starstruck at Huntington park, just like I was starstruck seeing him at Huntington Park!
Bill strobeck sounding creepy af in this
Heath Kirchart hitting us with the truth tho
Heath was pissed haha
I wonder if they ever got along afterwards , considering heath was dylans favorite skater
Yea they made up I bet. Everyone has to remember Mind Field was Heaths retirement part as well so he couldnt felt like damn i tried to motivate this kid, ive grinded my my ass off for years he watches his own part then leaves who does he think he is etc.
Love his style when he’s skating
What an incredible time of his life to get that interview
We miss Dylan! 🌹🖤
Did anyone see the face in the bushes at 7:06? 😐
wtf
That’s ghostly
oh the classic dill diss on kalis lmfao we got a whole damn episode because of that.
18:44 - That is genuinely the best impossible I have ever seen.
Yesss finally somebody talks about that impossible, its insane never understood why they used it for the intro for mindfield should of put it in his part
Met him at the Manukau skatepark in New Zealand did the sickest line I've ever witnessed 12,02 that's the line
Dude you saw that in person? wow
God I miss him, he was soooo fucking good at everything.
Best impossible of all time 🐐
We love you and miss you soooo much Dylan ❤
#RIPDYLAN man. Smh such a great person. This man was handsome asf too . Any one that says otherwise is fulla shit. ❤ long live Dylan dude.
He dabbled in modeling
I know which is the first skater I know that was doing that
@@soundsbitter yupp; believe so. Corey Kennedy to follow before he went through his stuff.
Dill lived really close to Westminster. Dill spent a lot of time in Fountain Valley wich is kinda in between HB and Westminster. That said Dill was in the Fountain Valley HS area and Dylan was in the Westminster High area. Where Dill was living during High school was only a couple miles away from where Rieder was living for high school. They also went to school probably a decade or more apart.
thanks for posting all these! Would be great to have them labeled for when they were made or published to get some historical context
25:38 This Kickflip is a work of freaking art~!
.... also I had a moment with Tom Ford while wearing Dylan's.. he saw them and asked " WHUT ARE DOES?"
Thank you for this❤
RIP, we still miss you
We miss you Dylan. ❤️🖤 #Dylanforever
Huge love for Dylan and his acclaim is 100% warranted, but man is Heath one of my all-time favorites. Not just as a skater, but as a guy. The idea that he calls himself the sort who “holds in” this or that when the videos of him going ape-shit bananas over missing a trick or a slam are legion. I feel like if Dylan could have made the most of his time with Heath, he could have really flourished in the time when pills were taking him away. Then again, who hasn’t lost some time to bad decisions?
Regardless, a great deal was lost when we lost Dylan and I wish he were still around to bring some flavor to a skate scene that, in my view, could use some of that artistic individualism that dudes like Dylan and so many of those older, East-coast had.
Dill being so Dill in this one. Incredible.
the end made me think of the song “Like Dylan in the Movies” by Belle and Sebastian
glad this one was reposted- thought i had seen all the episodes, but somehow this one slipped through the cracks. westminster...haha
Dude was wickid. Gone too soon. I heard heaven is a half pipe but that's only half right
Then he just turned into one of the sickest blends of style and hardcore pop
loved this
R.I.P. Dylan 🏝️
I need to find Oblow’s Dylan video.
RUclips took it down I think it was for skateboard mag??
But it came out not long after he died and it was a beautiful memorial video.
Haven’t been able to find it anywhere.
RIP😥
rest in peace dylan
I would like to personally thank this whole time period of alien workshop gor getting me into smoking cigs, a habit that stuck for waaaaaaay to long

One of the greatest of all time
Getting rid of the HB skate park is the one of the most ridiculous things Huntington Beach has ever done
“But he never had a drinking problem 😌”
🤣🤣🤣
rip man good episode
R.I.P JAMES HARDY and Dylan. You are the best.💔🛹
Would really love a Jason Lee epicly later'd episode!
The impossible king.
Best to ever do it. Epitome of style.
Dylan looks like the cover of Rage Against the Machine evil Empire album.
Gonna go Pro because of Dylan.
Strobeck and Oblow talking for 5min straight about how cool of a ladies man Dylan was where he’d “fuck em & chuck em” is the most cringe shit I’ve seen in skateboarding in a long ass time. Strobeck is a creep. Pretty heartbreaking that Patrick didn’t even know who Bruce Irons no wonder Epicly Later’d fell off.
Interesting to hear Heath mention Dylan at 18 with no energy or motivation to get up and skate. Wonder if he was already developing cancer around that time..
Skateboarding ain’t what it used to be man rip
Didn't know that he almost got on anti hero. I remember reading somewhere that Tony Trujillo was an inspiration to him.
RIP to a legend
GIVE BACK! you on the path lil bro
Favourite skater forever
Mmmm ok but who introduced him to drinking, smoking, and drugs to begin with? Probably the older guys being interviewed in this video, who said they cared about him. To them he's just a way to make money for their brands, and when he doesn't do that then they dump him.
Exactly
Mmmm blaming others for your own problems. Should be your generations motto.
This dude style was so ahead of its time he ripps so hard man so sad not to see him grow all the way
rip Dylan his cherry part is so epic!
dyl talking about uprive/downriver is so streets ahead lmaoo
rest in peace man
if anyone can tell me what brand guitar Arto is playing i would very much appreciate it
