@@gamer4ever838 Which is why a lot of people dropped this anime and look at the myanimelist ratings, it's a new anime and it's nearly at the 6 K rankings. If the anime studio's and the director's plan was to p*ss off fans, then they succeeded with this chronological mess lol
@@gamer4ever838 Well, they did make it as they want. The problem is that after all the production was done, the director decided to rearrange all the episodes.
That's why in Japan, there's 2 different orders the episodes are airing. There's the original, intended order, and then the reshuffled "on-air" order that we also get here in the west.

Here's hoping Mikoto's horn eventually regenerates. He'd be even more powerful if he still had it.
Pretty sure he'd just rip it out again, though. He hates Oni more than anything, but he considers ones with their horn and powers removed as close enough to humans to let them live. If his own horn regenerated, he'd consider himself an Oni as well.

At least we now know how strong Mikoto actually is. I knew he was wildly powerful but killing a god as a child is pretty crazy. The also terrible fact that the God of Laws got 2 shot by a child.

@@CaptainCawks I believe this is what happened because Mikoto was actually an Ogre. However he was the first ogre so far that I've seen combine the peach boy power thing with ogre power. That was probably why you only seen him with black lightning aura when he had both powers combined.
@@Legendaryrebirth Don't even know if I'd call it black lightning, it looked like the world itself was glitching outy, struggling to comprehend his existence.
@@krukblood-axe3649 I can see why you would get poetic about it, but I'm trying to look it at from an perspective that comes from an extreme level of physics. Lightning, is basically negative ions creating a channel with positive ions and creating electricity. Normally electricity emits light in the form of a white-like emission. If there is anything I know about energy in general, it is that there are many spectrums of electromagnetic energy and they come in many colors (frequencies). When you get extremes from opposite spectrums that somehow harmonize, you get the result of what is known as an oxymoron. So when I said "black lightning" I was being literal from a very scientific point of view because lightning emits light, not darkness. My theory is that two energies from opposite spectrums was able to reach what is known as electromagnetic resonance and when the energies are stabilized it creates what is known as a paranormal phenomena that has somehow harmonized. This is what creates gods.
best episode by far... i just want to follow mikoto story.. he has way more interesting back story than sally and her friends.

Maybe it's because I read a lot of experimental, and nonsequential serialized fiction growing up that played with chapter order, internal chronology, and things like that, but I haven't had any problems keeping up with the narrative, and I actually kind of like it this way. In some ways it's more satisfying to see something you don't quite get. "Carrot" for example, and then a few episodes later it zooms back in time to the vignette that lets us see how she got her name.

An anime series portraying non-linear story telling, like early Quentin Tarantino films, riles up fans who are used to classic linear chronology that they reject the choices of production until a few decades later it becomes a cult classic. To be honest, I still think the episode order was a good thing. The story in itself is rather simple and the cliffhangers don't have any good resolution. By reshuffling it they were able to get a lot more impact from certain moments (like the one with Mikoto and the sister). I feel when people realised it wasn't in order the, dismissed it completely. But a lot of the reshuffling makes sense if you actually watch it. Though, I would have liked that instead of just reshuffling the episodes that they go all in and completely restructure it to make this even more effective
Does this whole scenario regarding Mikoto’s origin remind you of yet another dark Anti-Hero? One who has grudge against his own kind and from MARVEL or something?

I see so much complaining about chronological order, but as an anime only I'm not confused. Would it be better chronologically? Probably. Is it detracting from my experience or ability to understand? Not really. Maybe it's just me, but I was only confused for about one episode early on before realizing it was out of order. It has not been hard to follow since.
