  • Shooting Sunsets and Sunrises (the "Holy Grail" of timelapse photography) usually involves changing shutter speed, ISO and/or the aperture during the recording. With qDslrDashboard (ControlMyCamera on iOS) and the "Auto-Holy-Grail" feature those adjustments can happen in a fully automated way, without touching the camera. Works with Nikon, Canon and Sony Cameras.

    Why shouldn’t we use in camera intervalometer? Thx.

    • @LRTimelapseOfficial
      @LRTimelapseOfficial  3 года назад +1

      Because those internal intervalometers mostly won't let you operate that camera while shooting, they will block the camera for too long making it hard to get a preview, and mostly you won't also be able to control the camera via WiFi while it's shooting. All things that you would need to do, when shooting the "Holy Grail". A good external intervalometer will give you much more freedom.

    • @gwegnerde
      @gwegnerde Год назад +1

      The intervometer in Dslrdashboard ist nor very accurate. Besides, if the app closes or crashes, your timelapse would continue shooting if you use an external intervalometer. It's much more reliable.
      In my setup, even if something happens with the app, for example the wifi drops, device goes to sleep etc. you can just restart the app and resume. The timelapse wouldn't be affected because the external intervalometer shoots reliably no matter what.

I recently bought the Nikon D3500 second-hand as my first dslr but the camera does not have a dedicated jack for connecting a remote shutter/intervalometer, therefore the only was to use a shutter with it is through the buggy Snapbridge app (which don't have an intervalometer) or the micro-usb port connected to an app like qdslrdashboard.
