Brad, your channel is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Thank you for getting straight into why we clicked on the video. Great production quality too.
I tried the bonded and 114 and wasn’t too fond of it. So passing on this bottle was easy and have seen it everywhere. I saw an Antique 107 for $149 at the last place I saw the OGD16 and grabbed the 107. For people who like that profile, I am sure this is a great bottle. The bottle looks cool AF, reminds me of the old Tampa Bay Bucs uniforms.
My opinion is very much in line with yours, I really enjoy this whiskey. It is my perfect starter pour for a Friday Night. I get an insane amount of orange and vanilla on the nose and palate, I keep comparing it to an orange creamsicle. So unique for Jim Beam to get that much citrus and vanilla
This is probably the most positive review of this bottle I've seen so far. I ended up passing at the distillery the other day because of the price. I think 200 dollars is too much for most whiskey, particularly when other age stated Beam products like 15 and 18 year Knob Creek MSRP'd for less. I got to try it at a bar and did like it, but I would have rather seen it cheaper, even if they had to lower the age statement to do it. I'm sure this at 10 years old would have been incredible as well.
$200 msrp is tough for any bottle, would love to find it somewhere that I could just buy a pour. Great review Brad! Thanks brother and keep the content coming!
Here's my take. First, since i've only recently discovered your channel and started commenting on your vids, let me introduce myself. I'm Jon. (Levy county, FL) You'll get the story on why PiperJon some other time. I'm 65 y/o. So, when I was 18 y/o the drinking age was still 18. I've been legally drinking OGD since 1977. I'm a fan. It's a great budget Bourbon. When the 16 y/o was announced I was excited. And having seen several reviews now I'm sure I'd love the juice. HOWEVER, not at $200 a bottle. Not for any juice, even my old trusty OGD. Doing the math that is over $1000/gallon. Would you spend $1K on water? on Milk? on gasoline for your car? Not spending that much on something I'm going to drink and then it's forever gone. But, I support your decision to spend your money as you see fit. There's plenty of great whiskey out there for less. And at today's prices I spend more than I'd like on bottles more and more regularly. But $1K/gallon I just have to draw the line somewhere. OK...Rant over. Was probably TLDR anyhow. Cheers 🥃😎
@@bradsbourbonreviews I get that. And I have plenty of $100 bottles. Just drawing a line somewhere lol or I’ll end up with a complete BTAC lineup at ridiculous prices on my shelf!!!

If you don’t like any of their other stuff you absolutely will not like this
Great review! I was fortunate to have a sample and enjoyed, but the price kils it for me. For now I'll enjoy my OGD 114. Cheers!
Thanks for the kind words!
And yeah it’s steep

This is making me want a pour right now🤣

I totally think it’s a try before you buy especially at the price
I really enjoyed it
If you try it let me know what you think
I dont think any bourbon is worth 200…. But it does not stop me from buying it💸💸💸
🤣🤣

Thanks for watching! I appreciate it very much
I noticed all the Redwood Empire bottles. Have you tried the 8 year old Haystack Needle?
I have had the 14 (I think??)
The 8 yr old just dropped. First one with some of their own juice
Thanks for the review.
Neat looking bottle, probably pass on this one, too much $$$
Totally agreed
The problem for me: My local shop wanted $209, and tax here is 11%. Gotta draw the line
Lines in the sand is very important
Peanuts…I’m out
Anytbing from beam with have that nuttiness to it
It’s polarizing for sure
lol
🤘🏻

Cheers buddy!
Difference is though with whiskey it’s aged there’s a cost that those other commodities don’t have associated with them
But I get it

I wish that they would have kept the proof at 114 for this. Do you think they had to proof it down because it was to oaky?
Who knows
I think they just didn’t have a ton after 16 years and that’s why the proofed it down
@@bradsbourbonreviews I can see that for sure. I didn't think of that part. I wonder if this is going to be a yearly release?
