Lol. I have my metal dog comb next to the toilet, because she insists on keeping me as a captive petting-audience. So she gets a quick comb daily. Once in a while, I'll get out the slicker brush (like today), but she's got the easiest coat ever. Partly because I comb her regularly so nothing gets matted. She "asks" to go up on the grooming table occasionally because she wants her nails trimmed(!) or just wants some attention. That's the other thing we don't think of: grooming is loving pack behavior. You're showing your dog affection by grooming them.
My dogs are like yours: I never get to use the toilet alone. I always get my Olympic judges each and every time, so I keep a brush and a metal comb handy in the same place you do.
Thanks for sharing your magic, Rudy. I'm so grateful to you and other RUclips groomers who have helped me enough to start grooming my Shih Tzu, Squirt, at home. Home grooming has been a good addition to building the trust of a rescued puppy mill mama.
Thank you. You inspired me to get my Havanese up on the table. Embarrassed to say that he was getting matted from wearing a coat and/or getting wet out in this weather. This was the easiest brush-out I’ve ever done. When he was being shown, I line combed him completely every day. He’s been buzzed down with #7 or 5 blade ever since he was retired. I was brushing him with a pin brush, and never with the plan and flow you showed. So much easier!
Thank you so much for your kind words..We are so glad the video helped, nothing makes us feel better than knowing our videos help even with one thing..We appreciate you...
Thank you so much for yet another great demonstration of how to brush out a doodle dog, with lots of verbal instructions to go along with the video! You make it so simplified that anyone should be able to do it correctly without injury to their precious pet. You're the best Rudy!! ❤
Hi Rudy, I hope you are recovering well and feeling better every day! My dog is a two year old Havanese and I have had him since he was 12 weeks old. This winter I let his coat grow so he will stay warm and I am spending between one and two hours every night to keep the mats out. What am I doing wrong? I have been using your ten minute brush video as a guide. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Love your channel 😊
I have learned SOOO much from your videos! I've now got 4 dogs who require grooming: my 16 year old Cavalier, my 16 year old CavaPeek, my 2 year old mixed breed (genetics show poodle, chihuahua, and Brittany spaniel predominant), and my newest, a 1 year old Cavalier. All require grooming, so my day always includes brushing 1 dog per day. My old guys get tangles quickly, but in 4 days I've covered them all. I include ears and claws and teeth in my daily routine. With my two older guys, I've got a few additional items: Bag Balm on anus [I swear by Bag Balm!] and coconut oil on the penis area. I've got several Cowboy Magic products that I've used for decades on my horse and my dogs. I have rolled leather collars on my boys because of their long, silky coats. My groomer gets a clean, brushed dog to clip that makes her happy.
Thank you so much for all of your kind words and support..Nothing makes me happier, than knowing our videos help..Your pups are the luckiest dogs in the world, because they have you..We appreciate you so much..Thank you for all your input..I love Cowboy Magic, and Show Sheen myself..Thank you again..

Thanks so much Kiko ! You’re always so kind ❤️
My dog tries to bite the brush and me no matter how gentle I try to be with him....😢
