I tried this using a much thicker paper; the thin foil he is using is a must have for this model. The paper i used was way too thick, it kept the whole model from retaining its shape under its own weight, and kept the delicate legs, and accordion folds on the shell and horn of the beetle to lose their shape as well. The thin foil paper allows you to build up multiple layers of paper without the angles of your folds becoming less accurate, and it makes folding thicker parts of the model like the legs much easier

As an 11 year old boy this was hard for me but i made this one very easily and i have also finished your Hercules beetle.
Your models are really better than Jeremy Shafer's. I love your models.

After 6 beetles I made it, It looks SICK AF. I'll make a little paper box and a clip as a base and I'll put for my guests to see. These are by far the best origami tutorials ATM.

My first insect !!! a real pleasure !!! but I long to understand half the fourth tip is not bent completely like the others ... because- too sure of myself - I was not looking good; we must be humble when you fold. Thank you for these two demonstrations: -} (sorry to go through the machine translation)
