Exactly. Consistency matters. This is my biggest argument for people who are so emotionally attached to the first Remake from 02...is it a great game that still holds up? Absolutely. But it doesn't feel connected to this rebooted universe at all. And as great as that game is, it's got 1 massive flaw - we cannot get an ending where all 5 STARS members escape together. It's either Rebecca or Barry and that's always been a bothersome plot hole. Furthermore - if anyone prefers the 02 game... it's still there. 2 things I especially want from a new remake. Chris and Jill aren't just locked away for the majority of the game. I'd rather it be Rebecca and Barry but if has to be them let them get locked away later but I feel it being Rebecca or Barry makes it easier for all four to be in the helicopter at the end. Like if you're playing as Jill, maybe you meet Chris bump into Chris once or twice, then when you get to the secret lab Rebecca is there and vice versa for Chris but he finds Barry. The other thing I want is to play up the traitor mystery. I know fans of the series know who the traitor is but having to solve it would be fun imo. More body cam footage of the fallen stars members you find, I'd change the save room thats basically a storage closet into a security room where you can view tapes.

I think it would be interesting if they somehow incorporated RE0 into the RE1 remake. To have both those story lines in one game would be pretty rad. Like intertwined somehow rather than one after the other.
A modern remake of RE1 would be peak for me as it's my favorite or second favorite game in the series. It could only improve on its predecessors in characters, dialogue, writing, and visuals. Of course, there's a chance we might lose out on some of the things that made the games special, which is a risk but I'm willing to gamble on a better game. I've also been desperately wanting a remake or new entry where Chris is a main playable character (I don't count 7 or 8) so more people can love Chris the same way I do. And possibly show more of Chris's traits that make him an interesting character.

It would be a good idea to remake this game again for two reasons one some of the fans have not played the first game and then two they would make good money off it off of it and then the fans would also want this. Having played RE1 Remake on PS4 last summer after buying it on sale, I would absolutely love to see another remake with the RE Engine. I really enjoyed playing it, and it is by far my favourite RE title that I have played. As for what I'd like to see, I think it would be cool to see the Spencer Mansion from a third-person camera, similar to how the past remakes have been, instead of the fixed camera angle. Also, it would be cool to see Capcom combine the events of RE0 into RE1 to make one big game.
Despite my first RE game being RE 1 original back when RE2 was out on N64 (among other systems but that is what I got that game on), I consider the RE1 Remake to be the original just because it was so like the original but perfected in every way and felt so similar to it. SO a remake of a remake feels ok to me.

The remakes writing seems to bank on players to have played og games. Wesker and Chris had no rivalry in og . That was shoehorned in CV which still has no remake yet. There is no need to rush with the remakes especially when they are probably working on more than 1 at a time and ps6 is not far so of course if they need to they can just upgrade all of them that came out before ps6 to the ps6 I just hope they really take their time with the remakes because the older resident evil games are as good as it gets unless they finally do something great with re9.

Nah it’s gonna be the remake for 5 and 6. Hopefully 6 could copy the revelations story structure, not making you replay 4 characters to “see their pov” of the plot.

It would be a good idea to remake this game again for two reasons one some of the fans have not played the first game and then two they would make good money off it off of it and then the fans would also want this. I mean look at resident evil we gotta remake for that and people were worried like hell Because it’s such a masterpiece and they didn’t mess it up. I don’t think they’re gonna make the same mistake as what they did with resident evil 3 remake.

Having played RE1 Remake on PS4 last summer after buying it on sale, I would absolutely love to see another remake with the RE Engine. I really enjoyed playing it, and it is by far my favourite RE title that I have played. As for what I'd like to see, I think it would be cool to see the Spencer Mansion from a third-person camera, similar to how the past remakes have been, instead of the fixed camera angle. Also, it would be cool to see Capcom combine the events of RE0 into RE1 to make one big game.
Despite my first RE game being RE 1 original back when RE2 was out on N64 (among other systems but that is what I got that game on), I consider the RE1 Remake to be the original just because it was so like the original but perfected in every way and felt so similar to it. SO a remake of a remake feels ok to me.

@airtiger4577 no it doesn't. You could revamp visuals. Polish removing glitches add more story. Common man. There's tons of other directions. I'm just suggesting tank controls because the over the shoulders removes so much suspense it gets tiring. Every freaking game is doing over the shoulders. How about set a new trend? Where camera follows the movement rather than static still shots. There's plenty of room to innovate what's been made with tank controls.

I don't believe any of these leaker and of course comments were deleted in the discords. I believe re1r remake is a thing because Capcom wants to work on. Hopefully it's good because RE dev team compared to dmc dev team sucks at RE engine. More so engine not that good, so rex engine needs to deliver.
As for establishing an connection between Wesker and Chris the remakes gloss over and cut character interactions. Re2r Claire and Leon Barely interact , Sherry doesn't meet leon til the end . Ada doesn't meet Sherry etc.
Re4r Leon doesn't mention Wesker. Wesker, Ada, and Krauser all vaguely know each other but don't interact. The remakes writing seems to bank on players to have played og games.
Wesker and Chris had no rivalry in og . That was shoehorned in CV which still has no remake yet.
It was more jill ruining his plans and he shot Rebecca all the same scene and Barry was there and Chris if he wasn't locked up.
Enough with the remakes already!!! Either Capcom should come up with some new content or just let the franchise perish.
About time it should have been the first Resident Evil game to get a remake because it was the first game that started the entire franchise. Plus people need the back story on why Chris wants to kill Wesker. and how do they know each other before a Resident Evil 5 remake.

Resident evil 1 has never have a Remake its Remastered of a Remastered it needs really one
The remake happened in 2002. The remaster of the remake happened in 2014.
