Timber Frame Blues

  • Some friends of mine were teaching a Norwegian Timber Framing class at North House Folk School and they asked me to come down and hang. I brought my trusty Grae Dog and my resonator guitar to play some improvised slide blues. I’ve always loved old work songs and their purpose. They keep up morale, productivity, and give people something positive for their minds to wander off to. So I chopping on my guitar while they chopped on their logs and made music that way.
Here you can see my friend Kjetil Groven a famous blacksmith swinging his axe and eventually cracking up with me. It’s hard work and fun. What a magical place to hang on the north shore of Minnesota!
