My customer I'm building a SQ build for bought the kicker Q class 12 that I recommended. The subwoofer has the best response I've seen thus far utilizing a 4th order bandpass. The man loves rock music so I figured this sub would be perfect to put into this build!!!

I’m gonna be running 2 of these 10s at 2 ohms with a ground shaker box tuned to 30 hz running a kicker amp 3600 watt amp at 1800 rms. In my Honda civic hatchback.
Hard to find efficient subs high in the 90's nowadays. I agree with you on cookie cutter amps with crappy damping factor or high distortion ratings. I don't even think they care about slew rate either. Than you have these monster inefficient subs that need an enclosure the size of a Japanese apartment. Buy quality be happy
Facts not fiction 👍 I had 1 kicker kx2400 on my 2 13w7 in my Tahoe and I was a whole db louder (146.9 @ 42hz on music) than a guy with 2 Incriminator death penalty 18s on an american bass vfl450.1 In a Tahoe (145.7 on music) the problem was his box. It literally almost touched the headliner in the trunk all the bass was stuck behind the box.
I bought the Q Class 10 in the Kicker box to save trunk space. I am very impressed. I had a Rockford 12 T0 sub in a large box for years. That kick Q 10 is above par!
Can you provide the box details you bought and also the amp you are using? I want to buy one but I also want to save trunk space and have it hit hard and nice.

I remember back then when the kicker L7 came out, it performed amazingly. I've now caught the bass bug again and want to put a single 12" in my Land Rover Discovery. I was researching and thinking of getting a single Skar VXF12. Which sub would be the better option? I always liked the sound of my subs in sealed enclosures.
@Steve Z I went with a 13w7 in a ported enclosure, built to JL spec running off a JL HD1200/1. It's nice but for the money I spent I was expecting so much more. So now I'm working on a new setup using 3 x 12" B2 audio riots in a sealed enclosure running off a soundigital 5000.1 evox2. Just waiting for my subs to arrive in the post and I can try the new setup.

Brands like Alpine, JBL, Pioneer amps will always have really good tech. Remember those brands compete in high end home audio market. Hell JBL is Harman Kardon as well as MK and Crown...fyi they make Highend amps and concert level amps. Now Kenwood...their amps have some of the highest dampening factor (which helps control the sub and speakers ) on the market as far as old school brand. Hell I'm still trying to find me a kenwood kac-1023 as that was a reference level amp.
I’m running 2 12s kicker l7q class with skar skv2 1500 watt amp sounds good but it clips when I go too hard , thinking of going to the 2500 do you think I’m not pushing them to their potential with that 1500 watt rms amp , would it be waste of money to go upgrade to 2500 ?
I got single cvr 10 dvc 400rms, sealed 1cft. w/ Fosgate 500.1 amp. I listen mainly tejano and hip hop bass. Sounds good, but sub feels it wats to explode more bass. My question is should i just replace with 12? Or would a good ported box do the trick? What's the cheapest way to get stronger bass? Thank you

I have those same L7's in a dual Q Bomb enclosure and I don't feel like they are hitting like they should in my Q50. I have an AP 1800 class D pushing power to the box I am also running 0 gauge wiring with an extra DS18 battery

If they stay in the recone shop its user error. Ive been running a x 18 v1 on a sundown saz 4500 for ages no problem Then again, not every setup is the same.

I switched the two Alpine 12s to the Q class L7 12. Same 1200 watt amp. Kicker blowing my trunk off like never before.
Great facts! It’s all about physics those heavy coils can handle a ton of power but also have more inertia.

I had 2 L7 10's for years and upgraded to the Q10's a couple months ago. Much better range and sound quality.

Yeah look at the specs signal to noise ratio closer to 100 db or better the better sq of the amplifier.
Kx kicker amps hit so small but a shit load of power I love kx amp even a 1200 watt kx amp hits like no other

I had the same sub on 350 rms in a 1.5 ported to 35. It sounded really good and had pretty decent output. Supposedly they like a bigger box.
All you need is to put that CVR and a ported box with good Port area built to maximum size recommended, cvrs do a lot better ported bro.

Recommend minimum specs by kicker would be between 600-900rms for the 12in for 500watts the 10in is better suited for that power range
