The amount of technical and practical knowledge Dave has is crazy... I wish there was a weekly show like this with Dave, just hands on projects and various gig setups.
Dave is made out of the same material as Steve Albini , they are passionate people that love to experiment and innovate for the fun of it . I love seeing them geeking around , RIP Steve .
Very exciting to see Dave Rat breaking down his linear drive speaker. The electroacoustic speaker has basically stayed the same since the invention of electric loudspeakers, so it's really cool to see a master reinventing the wheel in our lifetime.
WOW, that yard reminds me of way back in the 70/80s and the TASCO yard in Lambeth, London UK.. we could get 2/3 semis in for loading.. ceilling was a lot higher though.. and so were we ;-)))
Not one , but there were two legends in this video. Not only informative, but so much fun to watch you guys together. I wish I could feel that super low deep bass one day.
Thank you! I just did an impromptu performance and this helped me so much!!!!! I was able to listen in and get things sounding up to my personal standards. (Which are pretty high, I know I shouldn't beat myself up over it) I am ever thankful for this knowledge! It is wrote down in a note in the front of my binder with my checklist. So I will see it every time! Many blessings and thanks to you
😊 you’ve got balls to sit in That Chair? time with David that must’ve been great fun I’m curious at what frequency does it become safe to be exposed to more than 110 dB
I was a bit skeptical about the X32 until I had to use one at a state fair for an entire month. 286 shows in the Texas heat and not one single issue except for an iPad with a crappy battery life that I was using to run it(I left the console backstage and mixed on the iPad from the crowd). I actually demanded the same exact rig for the fair this year I enjoyed it so much. It was a little tough learning curve coming from an analog background, but once I got it, I got it.
I am so jealous of you. You basically got to travel all around the world and visit some amazing studios. How did you manage that it must've been really expensive. I wish my room was soundproof and not echo but I can't afford soundproofing
I feel very fortunate that my videos over the last few years have provided me a way to do this. A lot of gratitude to the viewers and brands who have supported me.
I first saw him when he was talking about the array systems, great vid man i learned alot, im not about to run 40K watts in my lil studio but im finally getting some subs and pa to mix in with the studio monitors, i would like to get some used ones, and learn to upgrade the internals on my own. Great vid, keep em coming.
Hi , I have a question that I have been having for a while. It may sound a bit stupid, but I look forward to your answer. Thanks a lot. Does the AVB audio interface support connecting multiple computers simultaneously through the network? Recording and playback can be performed by configuring different channels on different computers. For example, in a recording studio, in two control rooms, two computers can be used for recording through one AVB interface.

Dave is so great - on his channel, he'll take the time to respond fully to questions in the comments. He is truly an enthusiast and a great teacher.

All the guests featured on Audio University so far are legends or the top 0.01% who are masters at their craft.
Dave’s the real deal… definitely a legend.
Man what a wealth of knowledge! Mad respect.
Brilliant video Kyle and fantastic content. Fascinating to hear Dave explain in such detail and with obvious passion. Thank you 👍
Had a wonderful time watching this! Thanks Kyle and AU!
Way too short, man!
This is dope. This guy is the most talented sound human I’ve ever seen
Note to the camera person... Please point the lens in the direction of the items that are being discussed NOT at Dave and the interviewer !
THIS!
Agree 💯
Agree 💯
Agreed but with enthusiasm
Yes dude so brutal. And let dave talk, you don't need to try to out smart him on every point. Are you the interviewer or interviewee?
Always great seeing Dave in videos , such inspiration and knowledge, wish the video was longer but I know you legends are busy and time is money lol
Wow! More vids of u and Dave sir.😊

Perfect explaination of moving coil speakers opposite to traditional ones. Curious to see and feel 30 inch sub at a rave gig!

Great video! That place is a wonderland for audio nerds. Thankfully, I live nearby and do business with RAT. Great people and Dave is the GOAT.
Must have been a great time to hang with Dave- a seemingly everyday guy who thinks on a totally different level! But his t-shirt says it all…!
Really cool. Learning every time from you both
Dave! You look great, bro! Ive been watching you doing sound for so cal gigs since the 80s.

_Rad._ Dave Rat is a true American original. An embodiment of the "American Dream."
i love how personal these videos are even tho this channel is not even trying to be that
Now dave needs to build a subwoofe igloo for home theaters! That would cover the height channels.

WOW indeed !
Putting the "Engineer" in audio engineer. Refreshing to see.

The first time I saw the LAN cable audio-splitter box at RAT Sounds, now everybody is selling it and producing it.

I’ve heard other channels ask engineers what’s new to come…..the answer should be ask Dave RATT

playing world of tanks will be explosive on that rig🤩
OhMiGawd! Could have easily spent years poking around!
If you want to check out Dave's work in person, he does this little thing called Coachella every year

The brown note research throne.

So for how many seats does the venue hold for this 100,000+ watt speaker set up you have??
Dave rat: 1 😂
Dave Rat!
Sick Camera Man 😐
Wow. That reversed speaker.
What brand/type is it?
OG
Greatttt
I love him, but I wouldn't let him drive a fork lift.
He does well in a semi.
Maybe you should give an introduction… Who the Flip is Dave Rat? A Roady at a Rental House? IDGI….
90% of us know. And... google!
yeah yeah yeah yeah it's "safe"
Those super subs have maybe 1000 kg :)))
welcome to the land of milk and honey
What audio interface are you using? It's amazingly clean audio. Also is it compatible with Linux
Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
How much of this man’s hearing is intact I’d like to know for scientific purposes 😅
Hope he does not hit the brown note when someone is sitting on the chair 😂
camera man failed big time, focus in in what they’re talking about its not rocket science
Interesting useless information 😂 b
