  • Choose your own adventure/sense the subtle
As someone who is a trained listener, most of what I find is most beneficial in my work is my willingness to sit with the questions rather than know the answers. The greatest benefit arises from the connections we form with ourselves and each other.
Today, I invite you to sit with the questions, unanswered in your own heart.
Quote from the Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma book "I invite you to think of an embodiment practice as a conversation with your body. You listen to your sensations, which allows you to respond with breath and movement. Then you ask your body, “Did I get it right?” Listen for feedback in the form of emotions, changes in sensation, or an overall sense of ease. Notice if you have a tendency to be aggressive with yourself. If you experience a stuck sensation, gently rest your attention there. Ask this part of your body what it needs from you. Allow your curiosity to help you listen more deeply."

This class, on a physical level, is focused on exploratory movements.
Metaphor: the structure I give you is like a house, I will present to you the entryway. Together we will walk into rooms-the outer shapes provide these forms, it is up to you how you would like to decorate, embellish, and explore each space of yourself.
It is all about making intelligent choices for you! you do not need to practice for anyone else.
And, when you practice you are in the here and now…this present moment. You choices are only relevant to this moment, tomorrow this same practice might look completely different. You are honoring your experience, yourself.

    A Gift
    by Denise Levertov (www.poetry-cha...)
Just when you seem to yourself
    nothing but a flimsy web
    of questions, you are given
the questions of others to hold
in the emptiness of your hands,
songbird eggs that can still hatch
    if you keep them warm,
    butterflies opening and closing themselves
in your cupped palms, trusting you not to injure
    their scintillant fur, their dust.
You are given the questions of others
    as if they
    were answers
to all you ask. Yes, perhaps
    this gift is your answer.
Quote from Rilke: “Be patient towards all that is unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms, like books written in a foreign tongue. Do not now strive to uncover answers: they cannot be given you because you have not been able to live them. And what matters is to live everything. Live the questions for now. Perhaps then you will gradually, without noticing it, live your way into the answer, one distant day in the future.”

Thank you so much for this beautiful practice. I wanted to catch it live but travel disruptions yesterday meant I got to listen to my body this morning instead, with you as my guide. So very grateful to you ❤ your invitations meant I was even more gentle with my house than usual 😊

Probably my favourite session to come back to when in the woods.
At the end I would have loved to stay with you a bit longer, maybe like you sometimes do with reading the poem again and closing closing the circle. Thank you Arielle!

What a beautiful, nourishing flow! Thank you for this gift of a practice, Arielle. You've created such a safe playground for exploration and free choice, thru listening. I enjoyed getting playful and found this new tender intimacy with my breath and body. THANK YOU!
