The one I went to wanted to have you assist every day of the week. This is a strong controlling technique because listening so much to a doctrine will make you brainwashed and accept this as your new reality. Then if you don't go as much as recommended they start to make commands from the pulpit about people not giving the first place to God and people worshiping their family or the tv. Everything is a guild trip and manipulative.
In a way they did tell me what if it’s my mom’s birthday or something like that and there was church who will I pick and stuff like that im still going to church but then again I feel like I can convince them that they’re family is important a lot
I joined a Pentecostal church a few months back. The church members consistently forced me to abandon my close family and friends as according to them, Christians need to shut relationships with non Christians. There was a constant pressure on me to do what they wanted and they kept pressing me to attend church services regularly even though they knew that i was so busy with work. I left the church and blocked them all.
@@1MNUTZ that's really sad. I actually found one nice Pentecostal church with no extreme beliefs. They're nice and tolerant towards others. I Think I'll go to that church instead.
@@Amgupt5233 i would be careful pentecostals all have extreme beliefs often times they love bomb you to get you in the door and join the cult. Of course I dont know of any pentecostals that dont demand separation from the world. The church I went to claimed they could heal me with laying of the hands speaking in tongues whispering and blowing wind in my ear putting oil on my head. Anytime I questioned them or why nothing was happening and I was getting worst they would say "the enemy was using me" "the enemy doesn't want you to get the holy spirit" get up on the pulpit and scream out to Jesus then go jump up and down and run in circles. The longer I stayed the more brainwashed and insane I got.

Thanks for this, your points are both insightful & clear. I’ve been a pastor in Australia for over 15 years and regularly listen to content like this as a way to protect my own leadership and church from these destructive habits.
And most of their points are fundamentally wrong that dress code was just stupid. The most famous damaging cults don't have a dress code the Manson family didn't have a dress code.
She's just making up these characteristics of a quote that don't actually have anything to do with what a cult is. Christianity is unquestionably occult whether you like it or not
One time I questioned a church leader about certain things he was doing in the church. I swear this guy got so mad. He wanted to fight me. I didn't know religious leaders could get so angry.
Joined one church and weird things started happening. A guy started appearing everywhere I went - which eventually turned to threats from him. Hints were made towards me during sermons to donate large sums of money. I got kicked out of course with no information. Once I had spent half a year settling in I was being forced to dramatically change my behaviours. Never be afraid to just move on. There's the sunk time cost but a real church will accept you with open arms.
Sounds like Jehova's Witness. They follow their members, spying on them, to make sure they don't attend any other church, for any reason, & they go after you for donations, & disfellowship/ex-communicate, with no notice, either. Every 10 years, 10k of them leave that "church."
Pastors use Luke to enforce guilt for not tithing. Jesus was telling the Pharisees that since they still lived by the law, THEY SHOULD tithe! It was a part of the law. But, as He reminded them, part of the law that carried over to Christ was, honoring mother and father, which they did NOT do. Notice His comparison of these 2. Which 2 'laws' were carried forward under Grace? Some good Bible study here. Watch out for the "Nickle and Nose Counters."
If it takes you back to.the Old Testament and makes God respecter of race and persons dont stay with it. Also, if the pastor or a small group of close leaders are the only ones who can hear from God that can be a sign. There was a “pastor” at a church we attended who would manipulate the people into believing him (over other people in the church) by saying God told him face to face. Or that Enoch told him “face to face”.

my grandaughter was in 10th grade and she met a jw in school. he was a really nice guy...(NOT) and swept her off her feet. when she told me about him and he wanted to take her to church i sat her down got on the internet and educated her on how cults lure you in. she kept telling me that she liked him but she wasn't interested in religion. i knew who they were back when they rode bicycles up to your house with their white shirts, black ties and pants and tried to hand you their newsletter 'the watchtower'. they would knock on the door and they would ask...'are you a christian'? my mother had already trained us on how to answer that question... 'NO, we are Atheist'! ... . they couldn't get back on their bikes fast enough. it would scare them off, every time! my grandaughter went to their saturday service with him but she told him she liked him but she didn't want to go to any church. they had a relationship for over a year and she kept putting him off until he confronted her and told her she would have to be a member of his church if they were going to be together. that conversation 'nipped it in the bud'. she told him she was not going to be pressured into something she didn't believe in... thank gosh, that happened. to help her get through it i would take her to volunteer at the local food bank and homeless shelter, the community garden and she found her purpose by helping others. you don't have to go to a church to do good. i believe jesus wants us all to be independent thinkers and show love & charity to others. churches are supposed to GUIDE you...not brainwash or control you. now we watch documentary's together about religious cults, political dictators like hitler & mussolini, kim jung un and many other fascists dictators. that is much more fascinating & educational than giving your life over to a con artist and being owned & manipulated...by a grifter...
Olivia, thank you, thankyou for this video! Very clear presentation of how the cults operate. I'm 68, and I remember when the cults first came on the scene back in the 60's and 70's. Now, it seems that so many cults, especially the heretical, legalist-fundamentalist ones, have gone mainstream and are spreading like fungus across America. One of my sons has fallen in with a small fundamentalist group that is run by an ex-con in the Greenville area of South Carolina. The leader is using most of the tactics you cover in this video. My son's mother and I are very sad that he has broken off all communication with us and his siblings. He now believes us to be evil, and even barred us from attending his recent wedding by hiring an off-duty cop who told us we had to leave. Olivia, please, please do a video exclusively on the threat of the fundamentalist cults. This is very important because they have learned how to present themselves as a Biblical-based church, which THEY ARE DEFINATLY NOT!
My in-laws are the pastor and leaders of a Pentacostal church. All these things are all true and more. I'm so grateful Jesus removed us from the cult and planted us in a bible teaching church! Jesus had good plans for me and used this cult to draw me closer to His truth in Love. Thank you Jesus for your word.
My experience of being in a cult-like Pentecostal church has left me so traumatised I can’t engage in prayer, read the bible or go to church, because it just triggers so much. I wish I could have got closer to God as you did, instead of getting further away
@@BeyondBeliefChannel Hi Olivia (?) My personal advice for anyone: leave Christianity altogether. You won't have to decipher whether there is differences between Church + cults. Different if one examines the above out of interest, which is different by far. What many believers in Jesus don't realise is that Christianity is a cult, and a counterfeit to the new testament, as predicted by the writers of the letters contained in the new testament. Christianity is a cult ranging from Rome to Canterbury, to Protestantism, to even a small house group with a leader or leaders. Whenever there is a pastor or priest over the congregation, it has usurped the high priesthood of Jesus Christ, also his pastorship ( Psalm 23). To say Christianity is not a cult because it does not have characteristics of a cult is misleading, as the passage in Corinthians " God is not the author of confusion" is signifying that Christianity is indeed confusion, and that Yahweh is not involved, saying that Matthew 7: 22- 23 fits Christianity for what it is, in that Yahweh will still do miracles and mighty works through this entity, but will condemn it on judgment day. If one, who allows discernment from the Holy Spirit, while employing principles of exegesis + hermeneutics, to the new testament, you'll find the new testament has no compatibility to Christianity, nor "Messianic Judaism" Christianity is now, what Yahweh condemned in the old testament syncretism of paganism ( sun worship, etc) to the faith of Yahweh. @BeyondBeliefChannel Hi Olivia (?) I left an apostolic cult, I was in it for 26 years everything you said 100% what I experienced. Scary and the shun you but in the same breath make you feel guilt. Only one I did not experience was sex one.
God has gifted you with great discernment. To Christ be the glory. Another point is that cults obessess about them being the truth or having the truth.
Thank you for information. My family attending a apostolic pentecostal church. They believe that their pastor is the only true pastor and true prophet that God appointed in these last days. They also says, God is real in them unlike other churches and whoever stops their work will get sick (that I felt releasing curses in others who are against them). My family tries to convince me to attend their church and the first time I diagnosed cancer, my father question my faith (because I was attending a church that I know that it will help me to grow with Jesus that would not pressure me). My father said that I will not get healed if I don't regularly attend their church but I refuse to service in them and believe that God will still heal me. By God's grace, I praise Him for my weakness.
Been in for 34 years and my husband and i and my children are still in trying to get out but it's so hard I keep thinking of them saying we will go to hell. I'm just scared 😱
Satan works through the lies they tell you. You will NOT go to Hell if you leave. You can have a relationship with the Lord Jesus still and read the Bible for yourself and ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. Trust Jesus to make a way and prepare to leave. May God open the door and may you be set free in the name of Jesus!
This happen to me if I left I was going to hell. I just got to the point where I’d rather be happy now and deal with hell later. I lost funds of 26 years completely shut the door on me. I left in 2021 and I will never go back to it again and let alone any church I’m pretty much done. Pls just leave.
Go to Jesus and the word for your guidance, that's what I did when I left. If they are telling you membership in their fellowship is the only way to be saved they lie. Faith in Jesus Christ saves not what church you go to.please get out. When I left I did not agree to go talk to them and cut all ties. I sent letters saying goodbye after I left and called and told the pastor I was done. Those that know God and are Spirit led are His, not led by man.
thank you, i’m attending a church game night with a friend that i’ve kinda worried about his new change to non denomination so now i can actually know what to look for instead of panicking
I was at a church on a Sunday, the pastor from the pulpit called out someone sitting in the church pew the pastor said he was robbing God the pastor told him to leave the church cause he didn’t bring the tithes he was literally thrown out, the pastor would say that if you don’t bring your tithes you’re cursed if you don’t bring your first salary of the year as a first fruit offering you’re cursed I ran out immediately and never returned. Thousands of dollars disappear from church funds but no one dares to question the pastor! Run from these places!!
I’ve been trying to leave this cult called C-unit on and off for years. Everything you said happen to me. I’m so happy I came across this video. You become so brainwashed when you question things you know are not right they make you feel like your the enemy. Pray this time I am finally free. This is my 3d time leaving I finally got clarity. Thank you Jesus. The leader claims he is the Holy Spirit and slept with lots of girls in the cult. Anyone who leaves is “lost”, He likes to humiliate people in the group I can go on and on….There is just so many red flags. He is literally the definition of a narcissist.
@joenelson Liar, Liar, Liar and don’t get it out of order. Thou shall not bear false witness. What is your reward for the lies you tell? This video just highlights some examples of a real cult, which none it matches what we believe which is in The Church of Jesus Christ and we follow him as Christians.
Now you're in a Christian one Jesus was a person who lived a long time ago he was a teacher and he can't save you he asked us to not worship him but God alone but I'm glad you're on the right path and hope you continue to qestion things
Brave! I am listening to your video again, and feel like I have number 12 to add from my personal experience: church members don't come to your home and don't knock on your door when they don't even know who you are. I don't like when strangers ask me about Jesus in the elevator/on the street or knock on the door of my home to give me an invitation for their events/concerts.
Im so glad you said that about the military. Ive been saying the for forever. My brother is a former marine too and it just gives off cult vibes big time! Thank you. God bless
I was told that the Apostolic doctrine is the only true one and other doctrines are bad.. and when I got abused by a deacon at the church, it was swept under the rug and I was told to just stay away from him.. I'm now led to believe that it is not a church, it is a cult.
I'm Apostolic and I'm sorry you had to go through this abuse, perhaps call law enforcement and report it.. and if they the leadership swept it under the rug they will not get away with it,, But don't throw the Bible truth away acts 2:38 Hope you find another place of worship 🙏
I went to one not evening thinking “cult” and the first time was great and the next time starting getting weird. I started noticing how mean the pastor was. All the men dressed the same, they shamed Catholics, they were wearing evil eye bracelets and they are extremely clingy. It’s disgusting
Thank you for this insightful video I attended a church which seemed very welcoming, especially for first timers However when I went on their Facebook I realised that it may be a cult from the comments left So I did more research and was shocked at the information I read. I went to a bible study and I knew that it was a red flag when one of the members asked me what my plans were that night and I said I was going to hang out with my friend and she responded that I need to stop hanging out with non Christians. The Bible study was like half an hour but literally the most uncomfortable session that I’ve ever had, they basically just gave me a verse and told me to read that aloud and immediately after finishing they were like what are your thoughts? I don’t really know how to describe what I felt, but for me it was like a teacher questioning their student - especially since I’m a new Christian. I told my friend about this and she advised me to talk to our campus ministry which I did And thankfully he knew the church and immediately confirmed that it was a cult. I just feel very fortunate that I decided to read the Facebook reviews, or otherwise I would not have known the truth It was like God sending a signal to me, I just cannot believe how close I was joining a cult This is such a long paragraph but a word of warning for university students- The members from the cult church lurk around the campus and they would approach you, asking if you’re interested in Christianity If you reply yes or don’t seem to mind, then they would try to invite you to a gathering at their place. From what I read, they start off with “love bombing”, showering you with tons of compliments inviting you to all sorts of gatherings, making you feel that you are included and have many friends However, they reveal their true colors slowly, especially when you get baptised at their church which they do very quickly
I had quite a similar experience myself!! As a newcomer, they showered me with love bombing, gifts and kindness. Unfortunately for them I was raised already in church so know a bit about protocols and how they operate.. I went in with a open mind and was overwhelmed quite suddenly. I went to look up this place online through Facebook and found a group of ex members who escaped from this group. I took it with a grain of salt at first until I saw and heard for myself that they were indeed a cult. I walked away and was harrassed for awhile by them, saying me and my children are influenced by the devil and I will go to hell. I'm just happy to know that it isn't true at all, they just couldn't brainwash me nor did they take on account that I was already aware of their agenda nor that I had a religious upbringing. They usually target ones who were not brought up with faith and are vulnerable. I was at a vulnerable point in my life when they came in and took advantage of that but my faith never wavered and God will was for me to leave. I'm thankful that I did 100 percent.
@@LilyTahiti888 I’m so sorry that you had to go through that, and also thankful that God gave you the strength and confidence to not believe what they said I pray that you’ll continue to grow on your Christian path 🙏

Pastors want people to think it’s God’s church but the pastor and his wife has control over everything. Long time members has no say so in anything. My pastor and wife this way. During his preaching, he talks about him and his family. Just last Wednesday, pastor told congregation how they need to give more money because the church account isn’t to the level he wants it to be. He also said we’re going to hell if we don’t tithe. 😱 🔥🔥

A Church that goes overtly cultic is not as dangerous (for we know where it stands) as a Church that still claims to be Biblical but which tolerates subtle cultic tendencies with weird reinterpretations of the Scriptures. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for this exposition, Christ Walk.
When I was in 6th grade my family moved to a new city. We started going to a church. It was a strict denomination but we went because it was 5 minutes from our house. There was a young woman - 20ish - who became pregnant out of wedlock and had to go in front of the church and ask for the churches forgiveness. The youth pastor was very strict in the dress code dept. No shorts even in the summertime. After about 2 years we left and found a better church.
Finally someone that understands how the culture works God bless your heart I'm I'm cult surviver I totally agree what ur saying I got kick out of church for dating someone in the church .
I will say this that medicine is witchcraft and designed to destroy God's temple. It does nothing more than cause people to be dependent on it and make big pharma rich. God has already provided us to seek him for peace and healing. It's important for people to read their Bibles and don't rely on a pastor for truth. God gives us the holy Spirit to guide us into all his ways and understanding.
Thank you very much for this very insightful video. While I am not saying the church I currently attend is a cult I do see major changes going on but I'm uncomfortable with. Also some of the guest speakers and studies we've done are questionable. When I bring this information forward I am just dismissed. They always seem to find a way to justify it. Hey have done a study with Andy Stanley which I opposed and they've just had revival with YWAM neither of which I participated in however I was made to feel like I should have participated and gotten what I could have out of it whether it was legit or not. Any feedback from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
jeff...you already know! just by questioning those changes. if you feel in your gut that something is off, do some research about cults & different religions. i wish someone would start some group meetings that gather people together and share their particular experience with others. educating yourself will help tremendously. have you ever heard of the UNITARIAN Universalist church. its actually NOT fundamental. it's more like an educational experience about other religions. look it up. they are mainstream and not pushy...
My daughter married into a cult. No one believes us, she cut us off completely. She was smart and outgoing now she looks dead inside, she does not look like herself. Sometimes she looks drugged. NO ONE would help us. It is a long story but we missed the red flags. I cry everyday.
Thank you for your intelligent observations. You are fortunate to have realized them so early in your life. From my own life experience, your words have resonance with me. I grew up in a very conservative church, and I would add two signs in addition. The first is an obsession with bigotry. That is demeaning other people and even their religion in order to validate our own beliefs. Christians recognize that no one is perfect, not even ourselves. We become willing to extend to others the grace that we have received, and find beauty in the people that God has created, even when they are different. The second is an obsession with our own emotions. That is, a focus only on the heart as the evidence of our salvation. It is possible to confuse our own emotions, especially guilt, with the Holy Spirit. Emotional experience can make us believe things that are not true. Our emotions can mislead, unless they are connected to our minds as well. The Bible calls us to love God with all of our heart, with all of our mind and with all of our soul, and our neighbor as ourselves. The Gospel is incomplete when any one of those things is missing in our lives. The Bible often talks about the evil that comes only from the heart. Whenever a religion leaves out the importance of our minds to God, then we should search for the exit

I came from a G12 church I've experienced some of the mentioned and I left now I found a new church where I could call family but I've known they will adopt G12 too it's really bothering me.
What about churches that contact you on why you aren't there.I attended 1 time and then the pastor is messaging me to see what's going on or a pastor attacked from the pulpit and said he wanted to see our checkbooks to see how we were spending our money or God will take away your job if you aren't tithing and giveus a lesser paying job
That is really way too controlling. Thank God we don't have a paid clergy, that uses tithing to pay off the preacher. We build Temples & Chapels with it, & every 6 months the new Temples are announced where they're being built. Then when they're complete, we get to go see them.
Great video! Interesting aspect about the dress code. How may I contact you? I want to speak to you concerning a project about cultural sensitivity in the church.
Thanks for clarifying isolating yourself from people that use illegal dangerous drugs. I got into a real bad argument with a business partner about the meaning of a biblical scripture, even with a screenshot of the meaning that I got online that proved I knew exactly what I was talking about. Afterwards, after he apologized, we agreed not to talk anymore about theology. I believe you have a right to your own beliefs but don't try and tell me I'm wrong about mine when I got proof online to back me up. I always like the sermons in church when the congregation prays to help the poor, sick, disabled, and forgotten.
Church should be a place where you go and be sociable to others. I look at is as a free place to go lean the art of conversation. I stay away from the gossip, or the extra programs they have like bible study. I also volunteer at a bike/ski shop because I love the sport and meet people that way aswell. I work self employed so meeting people is a challenge so I have to push myself to get out there. Churches prey on the venerable and have you confess your sins so you can be addicted to the validation. BE CAREFUL. Use church very lightly, and know that what they believe is there business. I take it very tonge and cheek.
I’m pretty sure I attend a cult, one example was I went to a Bible study and I told one of the leader that the way the pastor was using tongues was not doctrinal and was in fact blasphemous because they believe anyone can speak in tongues you just have to get in the spirit and start chanting random fake words and when I told them this they were so furious and I pointed back to scripture to back my claim. I still attend this “church because I want to call them out and expose their lies
Praise GOD for you and thank you for the reminders. GOD bless you more and family!😊🌷❤️☝️ + They are Leaders (modern day Pharisees)who Misrepresenting our LORD Jesus Christ to the world by their teaching, conduct and lives. They served and used the name of our LORD in ther ministry but they’re cursed and unrecognized in the day of Judgment by the LORD. ... “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23 KJV “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.” Acts 20:28 KJV
Their is nothing wrong with a pastor keeping you in church all day it's kinda selfish to want church to end when you want it to. A church shouldn't end for the day unless the pastor is finish his sermons.
@@SouthernRebels94 Ok. So how about after the pastor is finished with his sermon and then he gets back up and talks on and on when he gives his closing remarks before dismissing? He's just talking just to hear himself talk at that point
@@musicguy9101 a closing remark is what it is it doesn't have to fit your mind set. Do you think God gonna complain or would he listen to what the preacher has to say during his closing remark . Just because his closing remark takes longer then what you want doesn't mean he likes hearing himself talk. In the meantime focus on what Jesus would do rather then going by your own emotions.
I attended a Baptist church as an adolescent and I was told that the Bible was the only book I needed for answers to my questions about religion. The pastor was God ordained and their sermons were inspired by the Holy Spirit which is God. If I wanted to read something else besides the Bible I was to pick a book from the church library. I shouldn’t attend a church from another denomination with friends that might invite me, instead I should invite my friends to my church and lead them to Christ. If I questioned the Bible or a sermon I would be warned,”Beware questioning the word of God”. God will punish doubters and nonbelievers for all eternity. And we were shown films about what hell will be like if we don’t live a godly life. This films were about fires, screaming and suffering from sinners in that place god has prepared. Yep, nightmares for me till I quit attending their movie nights.
The UK is rapidly becoming more like the states in its culture In many ways. Not good for our Christian faith which should bo displaying the culture of the kingdom of God.We need to get back to acts of the apostles.
This girl is wrong in many ways she used no biblical doctrine to support her views of what she was saying. And the whole hair thing she said it's a biblical teaching that man should have moderate length hair and women should have longer hair because it's there covering and glory.
The dress code thing is true. I was sitting in my car before service one morning (UPC) watching people turn up. They all had suits and ties and it dawned on me how it looked like a cult from the outside. What is this, an accountant convention? I was in the band for years and brought up the point of why we have to wear a tie. There's no real answer for a question like that. If you look up the history of where ties come from its even more stupid.
@@Fashn4LaDieSif that were the case for the way people dress in church, wouldn’t they dress like that all the time since we don’t know when Jesus will return?
Can't believe this video is actually useful for a lot of people, that it actually had to be a made... It begs the question is what's happening to these people that they can't differentiate these tell tell signs for themselves? Why do they give authority to pastor Tom, Dick and Harry? Very intriguing how we people can loose or intellect and trust the nature of Man.
Since they have like the verses and seem to be sticking to the Bible, for a new Christian that have never read it before they wouldn’t know that it was just taken out of context. That was at least what happened to me They can disguise themselves very well, even better than a lot of you can think
After serving in the church almost 30 years in an Apostolic church we got treated like dirt when we moved to a different church. Never got the chance to say goodbye or be ‘honorably dismissed’. Only the true friends stayed in touch. All the fake Christians don’t show any love. 14:35
I was in a cult 17 years ago, they tried to get rid of all my old friends and family, were too powerful in the leadership, the deacons had all the power, tried to perform excorcisms on people they didnt like, studied the bible all the time, and wore church clothes 7 days a week, and the women wore dresses all the time, and i left because they hated the fact i didnt use my psychiac medicine, so they kicked me out and i left.
Would add the Vineyard churches to watch, the one I left is a bit cultish. Encourage tithing and discourage spending time with non-Christian family. They don't support grieving the loss of a loved one, they say grieving is lack of faith. Also constantly asking for money for a new church building.
I've been to several churches. The one my father grew up in and made me grow up is is definitely culty. They don't want you to wear makeup, jewelry, pants, or nail polish. Dresses or skirts must be worn passed the knees, no cutting your hair. Hair must be worn long and up. No music or TV or electronics. No tattoos or piercings. I have broken every rule. The one I went to with my mother was culty because they gossip and discuss everything you do to everyone. You are practically shunned once you do something they don't like. I was told I was wrong for being friends with gay people and I'd go to hell for being their friend as well as telling them to live their truth. I have seen and heard them talk politics in the church and saying something as disgusting as "Obama is the black devil!" "Trump was sent from God to be our savior!" As well as other things. I've recently come to the conclusion that religion itself is a cult. Most religions say the man is in charge and the woman must do what he says and cook and clean and take care of the children. Women are always told what to do,how to dress, how to act, ect ect. Religions often say other religions aren't valid. Most people are prejudice to people of color, lgbtqia people, and anything that isn't their norms. Yep, religion is a cult.
Sounds like you were explaining the Apostolic church I grew up in. I just finished this video and I’m 11 for 11 lol. I left 12 years ago when I was 18 and it still affects my daily life. I hope this video helps someone! It definitely confirmed what I knew, it’s good to hear it come from someone else though!
It is the same like the one I was in. We were not allowed to visit other churches, not allowed to listen to other pastors, not allowed to discuss about football clubs even asking if you don't understand, they said you mustn't want knowledge of some unusual things.
Sarah, please remember that there are many Bible based churches that don't do the thing you were subjected to. Just because a group pretends to be Christian, doesn't mean they are following the Bible. Scripture tells us that Satan disguises himself as an "angel of light" ( 2 Corinthians 11:14).
i agree with 'every thing' you are saying. i hope your story reaches many people. jesus isn't a bigot or a racist. true christians don't hate people...or judge them...
The difference between a cult, & a religion, is whether they stalk you, if you want to leave, like Scientologists do. Anything that promotes socialism/communism, is a cult, & is of the devil, because it destroys your constitutional freedom, to make your own choices, including whether to, or how you worship. Trump was sent to save our constitution, so the gospel can be freely taught, until Christ returns, & to make Jerusalem the capitol of Israel.
What would have been best is to also provide scriptures to back up things. It’s always more effective when the scripture itself speaks and cuts the heart of people.
I was attending a Korean church. We wore special slippers, taught mistrust, and were constantly pressuring me to speak in their unique type of tongues. The pastor also shamed me several times during services.
Very helpful, i was in Shinchonji Cult for 6 months back in 2016, most of your saying are just perfect match with that cult. I would have leave a lot sonner if I saw your video then.
12. They make unreasonable demands on your time. 13. Isolate you from your family.
They tried that and I said F-U!!! (By action withholding choice words)
I needed this I'm at a women's refuge in Florida and the time demands are insain
In a way they did tell me what if it’s my mom’s birthday or something like that and there was church who will I pick and stuff like that im still going to church but then again I feel like I can convince them that they’re family is important a lot
Waoo learning alot from you little little girl
I joined a Pentecostal church a few months back. The church members consistently forced me to abandon my close family and friends as according to them, Christians need to shut relationships with non Christians.
There was a constant pressure on me to do what they wanted and they kept pressing me to attend church services regularly even though they knew that i was so busy with work.
I left the church and blocked them all.
They did that to me too
@@1MNUTZ that's really sad.
Christianity is unquestionably occult whether you like it or not
If you look up images of most cults, they dress very similarly to the point of having a dress code. The manson family included.

Once I had spent half a year settling in I was being forced to dramatically change my behaviours. Never be afraid to just move on. There's the sunk time cost but a real church will accept you with open arms.
which tells me you are an independent thinker. good for you!!

Sounds like Jehova's Witness. They follow their members, spying on them, to make sure they don't attend any other church, for any reason, & they go after you for donations, & disfellowship/ex-communicate, with no notice, either. Every 10 years, 10k of them leave that "church."
Was it a Pentecostal church by chance
The false doctrine of tithing is a big one, many are now waking up to this deception. Thanks for the video, God Bless 💕
Some churches even own houses and schools that waves major red flags to me
Pastors use Luke to enforce guilt for not tithing.
I just left a church that was full of contempt prior to investigation on many outside issues that are in professional hands.

I left the church of Jeovah Witness 18 years old the year 2023 January 7 officially an Exjw and I'm relief I did but sometimes it's hard 😊🥺💕🙏🏽
my grandaughter was in 10th grade and she met a jw in school. he was a really nice guy...(NOT) and swept her off her feet. when she told me about him and he wanted to take her to church i sat her down got on the internet and educated her on how cults lure you in. she kept telling me that she liked him but she wasn't interested in religion. i knew who they were back when they rode bicycles up to your house with their white shirts, black ties and pants and tried to hand you their newsletter 'the watchtower'. they would knock on the door and they would ask...'are you a christian'? my mother had already trained us on how to answer that question...
Manipulation and control is a major sign!!!

My experience of being in a cult-like Pentecostal church has left me so traumatised I can’t engage in prayer, read the bible or go to church, because it just triggers so much. I wish I could have got closer to God as you did, instead of getting further away

Hi Olivia (?)
My personal advice for anyone: leave Christianity altogether.
If one, who allows discernment from the Holy Spirit, while employing principles of exegesis + hermeneutics, to the new testament, you'll find the new testament has no compatibility to Christianity, nor "Messianic Judaism"
Christianity is now, what Yahweh condemned in the old testament syncretism of paganism ( sun worship, etc) to the faith of Yahweh. @BeyondBeliefChannel

@@BeyondBeliefChannel Hi,
Sorry, I must of duplicated my message.
Apologise.
I left an apostolic cult, I was in it for 26 years everything you said 100% what I experienced. Scary and the shun you but in the same breath make you feel guilt. Only one I did not experience was sex one.
15:29
Literally what I’m leaving right now, thought I was alone when it came to apostolic faith
You're very easy to listen to. You explain things well. Thank you🥰
Been in for 34 years and my husband and i and my children are still in trying to get out but it's so hard I keep thinking of them saying we will go to hell. I'm just scared 😱
they will say that to keep you in. don't listen to them! it's not true! look to the Bible and Bible only for truth!
My heart breaks for the people being deceived. But know the Lord can still help them.
thank you, i’m attending a church game night with a friend that i’ve kinda worried about his new change to non denomination so now i can actually know what to look for instead of panicking
happy to help
I was at a church on a Sunday, the pastor from the pulpit called out someone sitting in the church pew the pastor said he was robbing God the pastor told him to leave the church cause he didn’t bring the tithes he was literally thrown out, the pastor would say that if you don’t bring your tithes you’re cursed if you don’t bring your first salary of the year as a first fruit offering you’re cursed I ran out immediately and never returned. Thousands of dollars disappear from church funds but no one dares to question the pastor! Run from these places!!
Geeeze!
Good info, and I love the kitty cat in the background.
Olivia, This is a really great presentation by a wise layperson. My niece is being sucked into a personality cult right now. So Thanks for posting!
I was raised in the Mormon cult. Jesus saved me🙏❤️

Some churches may hope for the best for people who leave but they still talk about them
This was brilliantly said, thank you for sharing your understandings.

The prophetic church I attended once had almost all these signs
I went to one not evening thinking “cult” and the first time was great and the next time starting getting weird. I started noticing how mean the pastor was. All the men dressed the same, they shamed Catholics, they were wearing evil eye bracelets and they are extremely clingy. It’s disgusting
Thank you for this insightful video
I attended a church which seemed very welcoming, especially for first timers
However when I went on their Facebook I realised that it may be a cult from the comments left
So I did more research and was shocked at the information I read.
I went to a bible study and I knew that it was a red flag when one of the members asked me what my plans were that night and I said I was going to hang out with my friend and she responded that I need to stop hanging out with non Christians.
The Bible study was like half an hour but literally the most uncomfortable session that I’ve ever had,
they basically just gave me a verse and told me to read that aloud and immediately after finishing they were like what are your thoughts?
I don’t really know how to describe what I felt, but for me it was like a teacher questioning their student - especially since I’m a new Christian.
I told my friend about this and she advised me to talk to our campus ministry which I did
And thankfully he knew the church and immediately confirmed that it was a cult.
I just feel very fortunate that I decided to read the Facebook reviews, or otherwise I would not have known the truth
It was like God sending a signal to me, I just cannot believe how close I was joining a cult
This is such a long paragraph but a word of warning for university students-
The members from the cult church lurk around the campus and they would approach you, asking if you’re interested in Christianity
If you reply yes or don’t seem to mind, then they would try to invite you to a gathering at their place.
From what I read, they start off with “love bombing”, showering you with tons of compliments inviting you to all sorts of gatherings, making you feel that you are included and have many friends
However, they reveal their true colors slowly, especially when you get baptised at their church which they do very quickly
So thankful that our Heavenly Father protected you! Stay close to the Lord. He will guide you to a church that is truly following Scripture.

What about pastors indeed who.tell mentally ill people to give up taking medicine. They parade these people as miraculously healed.
I will say this that medicine is witchcraft and designed to destroy God's temple. It does nothing more than cause people to be dependent on it and make big pharma rich.

I am so sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers are with you both
Beat the cult out of her. That's your daughter lol.
Don't stop praying. May God strengthen you. He's able to do the impossible. Continue declaring her deliverance Isa 61
You people talking about prayer sound like you are the ones in a cult.
Kids stuck under parental rule be like: my parents think I'm in a cult. But they be in a cult tho for real tho.
Or they think you are being brainwashed for seeing the truth!
Is she talking about the Baptist Church?
I’ve been trying to leave this cult called C-unit on and off for years. Everything you said happen to me. I’m so happy I came across this video. You become so brainwashed when you question things you know are not right they make you feel like your the enemy. Pray this time I am finally free. This is my 3d time leaving I finally got clarity. Thank you Jesus.
I came from a G12 church I've experienced some of the mentioned and I left now I found a new church where I could call family but I've known they will adopt G12 too it's really bothering me.
What's wrong about G12 and what is the church called?
12. They are called the ICOC.
Very much needs to be said. I have experienced alot of this in real life. Its healthy to question things and think for yourself.
Do you believ in the power of the Holy Spirit in the Body of Christ today?
You made me feel alone..... but opened my eyes to important information
I'm so sorry you feel alone you most certainly are not many people have walked a similar path
1. They are named Bethel Church in Redding, CA
I think I would walk out if they told someone to leave
Actually I experienced everything mentioned above in my current "church". I am ready to leave
Sorry to hear that I hope you are able to find peace
This sounds like the UPC
Awesome Teaching!!
Sounds like Jehovah's Witnesses! Thank you Beyond Belief.
OMG, thank you! This whole video screams Jehovah's Witnesses!
That's an eye opener.. thank you
happy to help God bless
My church gets a check mark on 3 4 and 8 is this a sign that is heading in the wrong direction?
What about churches that contact you on why you aren't there.I attended 1 time and then the pastor is messaging me to see what's going on or a pastor attacked from the pulpit and said he wanted to see our checkbooks to see how we were spending our money or God will take away your job if you aren't tithing and giveus a lesser paying job
All of those are definitely red flags. Some of those could be cult related but honestly it may just be an abusive guy with control issues
that was nonsense 😳toxic
That is really way too controlling. Thank God we don't have a paid clergy, that uses tithing to pay off the preacher. We build Temples & Chapels with it, & every 6 months the new Temples are announced where they're being built. Then when they're complete, we get to go see them.
Are you still going to church? what church are you going to?
Great video! Interesting aspect about the dress code. How may I contact you? I want to speak to you concerning a project about cultural sensitivity in the church.
Feel free to email me it should be on my profile
As an athiest all religions seem to have some form of cult about them.
Praise GOD for you and thank you for the reminders. GOD bless you more and family!😊🌷❤️☝️
+ They are Leaders (modern day Pharisees)who Misrepresenting our LORD Jesus Christ to the world by their teaching, conduct and lives.
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
Matthew 7:21-23 KJV
“Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”
Acts 20:28 KJV
What about a pastor who tries to keep you in church all day long? He goes on and on and on.
That alone is not cult-like but I would be somewhat suspicious of a pastor who loves the sound of his/her own voice
@ music guy that’s selfish
They may have there own translation of the Bible
This young lady has certainly done her homework. I was in a presuming cult for over 30 years .There is a lot of cultish practices in churches.
LOL! People want to look their best, b/c they never know when Christ will return. If he appears in church, they want to be prepared.
@@Fashn4LaDieSif that were the case for the way people dress in church, wouldn’t they dress like that all the time since we don’t know when Jesus will return?
What about victory outreach international. I saw guys taking their life just after eventually getting allowed to leave the men's home?
Can't believe this video is actually useful for a lot of people, that it actually had to be a made...
It begs the question is what's happening to these people that they can't differentiate these tell tell signs for themselves?
Why do they give authority to pastor Tom, Dick and Harry?
Very intriguing how we people can loose or intellect and trust the nature of Man.
Since they have like the verses and seem to be sticking to the Bible, for a new Christian that have never read it before
they wouldn’t know that it was just taken out of context.
That was at least what happened to me
They can disguise themselves very well, even better than a lot of you can think
human beings are easily manipulated it is how we are wired unfortunately. Being social animals has downfalls and this is a significant one
After serving in the church almost 30 years in an Apostolic church we got treated like dirt when we moved to a different church. Never got the chance to say goodbye or be ‘honorably dismissed’.
Only the true friends stayed in touch. All the fake Christians don’t show any love. 14:35
In my church we’ve had many pastors supposedly leave
The majority of these are warnings against Narcissistic Behaviors from both individuals and the groupthink of the Mob.
Elevation….. Steven Furtick is pastor worship for sure. All the one liners
I’m just now leaving Calvinism. It’s super culty. I’m only now realizing it after leaving….
@BEYOND BELIEF
Is The Church of Almighty God/Eastern Lightning religion a cult?
I've never heard of them! I'll have to read up on them
I've been to several churches.
The Bible does not really discuss the framework of cults that I have seen
I was attending a Korean church. We wore special slippers, taught mistrust, and were constantly pressuring me to speak in their unique type of tongues. The pastor also shamed me several times during services.
Very helpful, i was in Shinchonji Cult for 6 months back in 2016, most of your saying are just perfect match with that cult. I would have leave a lot sonner if I saw your video then.
Great video! Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Why is it wrong to have a cult or be in one
