Great Review Erick!..I own a 100 series 1HD FTE.
The difference between a 105 Series and a 100 is that the 105 has front tube diff while the 100 has the wishbone front suspension. The 105 was what was for the Embassies and the UN missions and had the longitudinal split rear door or the horizontal split boot and mostly were manual transmission and had bigger capacity fuel tanks(a double tank). Most 105's did not have a sunroof either. The boot mounted spare wheel was a standard in the Japanese and Singapore/Russian markets and even the number plate was placed differently(towards the left),and the rear lights are only on the body and not on both the trunk lid and the body.
All the same its a very rugged vehicle though a bit lazy on the pick for the diesel. the 5 speed(zig zag gear) were from 2003 onwards.
The 1999 and 2000 ones had this very complicated navigation system on a mark Levinson which also controlled the A/C...mine doesn't work though-still looking for an expert for this.
Actually the105 series has exactly the same chasis with the 80 series. My 100 series is a full time 4wd too..
Apart from solid axel and IFS,the 105 has a 1hz engine while 100 is 1hdfte but there is one engine that people don't talk about alot is the 1hdft 24v for the 80series

The 100 series have always been my favourite esp the sound of the engine my friend is amazing, comparing it with the 200 and 300 series Hakuna comparison 👏👏🥰

Great review. I’ve had my 100 series for 17 years and done 600,000kms in it so far, I still learnt a few things from this review. The night vision sounds awesome. Never got that option in New Zealand. Keep up the good work.

However, kwa trim levels, base model was the GX. Clothed interior, analogue radio, split tail gate that opens to the side, mostly 5 seater, and the spare was mounted at the back. I think GX was 105 series, and featured solid front axle. Umesema unapenda 80 series, sasa 105 utapenda zaidi. One time, hio 105 imetuvuruta matatu mzima pamoja na luggages zetu tukiwa ndani na ni kwa matope. Bulldozers those ones.
Then kuna VX, Amazon, alafu Cygnus which was petrol only i think.
However, hapo kwa RSCA, hio knob unazungusha ni ya diff lockers.

Greetings Eric. Great review of the Land Cruiser 100. However, I must mention to you that the first flagship Lexus SUV was NOT based on the 100 series platform as you have pointed out no fewer than 4 times in this video. The first flagship Lexus SUV was based on the 80 Series Land Cruiser and it is known as the LEXUS LX 450, released in the USA. I can understand the error, as this vehicle isn’t as well known as the LX470 and CYGNUS variants.

How does LC105 compared to the LC100. Which of the 2 is the better option?
The 105 is an 80 series chassis with a 100 series body on it, The biggest difference between the 2 series Landcruiser is the engine and front axle/suspension setup. 100 series having better motor options and the 105 having a stronger & solid front axle.

Thought I knew everything about the 100 series, but that "Night vision" with the infrared bulbs in the high-beams, just blew my mind away 🤯🤯🤯
Although, correction, the first Lexus full size SUV was actually based on the 80 series, not 100 series, it was known as the LX450.

My aunties neighbor was going back to London and was selling his lands cruiser 100 for 500k. My mum and aunt refused to buy it saying hawataki suv. Hio kitu hurts me to this day.
