Well, considering the fact that humans literally can’t imagine what they don’t know. Imagination and knowledge exist in a peculiar symbiosis.

Another big factor is, he does it for whatever pay. Doesnt matter if the quest wasnt paying a lot or a little as long as it was goblins hes going for it, which was why the guild quest girl was trying to cheer him up the most, sometimes these smaller villages can barely scrape by enough to post the quest so adventurers dont pick it up anyway cause the pay wasnt worth the hassle
She also feels bad for pushing all the Goblin quests onto him but is extremly relieved that he is more then willing to take them AND comes back alive!
In the long run he ends up accumulating a great pouch of gold, because he beats goblins with brains and their own weapons and also he never uses more than cheap equipment so the goblins don't get their disgusting hands on high level gear. It's a very sustainable and profitable business model haha
Like the Farmer's request for killing a goblin who stole some chickens. The pay was little, but Goblin Slayer took it regardless of the cost. To him, Goblins are everything, nothing is worse than a goblin who's still alive

What Goblin Slayer does reminds me a lot of our current situation with charity. Everyone wants to donate when its a big disaster, no one wants to donate when its just random homeless or poor people.
Unfortunately when it comes to homeless charities, at best it feeds the Homeless Industrial Complex that's so lucrative they can't let the problem be solved. At worst, it's an outright scam. Look at the guy in California that built mini-houses for something like $5K each. Not only did they shut him down over the most BS of technicalities, they stole his idea and charged the state\fed something like $250K-400K a piece. And then there's the apartments for the homeless, which is a whole other corrupt can of worms.

I mean as someone who lives in LA, giving money to a homeless guy might improve his day but it won’t help. Donating to a local pet shelter or wildlife fund is worth it.
Not only is imagination a weapon, it's the first weapon, the source of all weapons. Someone saw that stick and instead of ignoring it they thought "hey, what if I grabbed that and smacked something in the head with it?"
It's the greatest weapon. Man wouldn't be able to destroy the world, if Man didn't imagine and dream of the possibility, now look where we are, one push of a button and billions die in seconds. It has always been this way, because the mind is the greatest tool for mankind, and if they want to use this tool for killing... things get real gruesome

I liked this one because they actually made the weakest mob a real threat, not to the level 80 but to the common citizen and beginning adventurer.
If it has a knife it can kill you, and worse but people with the ability to do something about it consider it beneath them and let them grow to the size of real threat's like this and the last episode.
This is what happens in any system that does not provide damage reduction/boosts against lower level enemies, insane stat scaling or attacks that automatically go area-of-effect, swarms be one deadly.
I am curious what the high level gear can do in this setting as the armour seems if not realistic then very believable in how it functions.

Also mundane items and One use magic items, potions seem more common than other items but still rare.
goblins were not the weakest mob. It was recomended by the guild to have a party to have a chance of surviving. They weren't a easy quest but for novice adventurers with no fighting expirience and villages it was their biggest threat
@@ate7714 it just seemed like the guild didn't really emphasize the danger enough, or even share basic tactical knowledge like "don't get distracted by torch totems, look out for tunnels behind you, don't use big swords inside a cave" etc. Is there no basic training?

When killing becomes an art form for a man as dedicated as Goblin Slayer imagination is more than just your weapon, it is your canvas... as well as your weapons, skills, and magic become your various brushes... and Goblin's blood becomes your paint.
To any well trained Warrior/Soldier, a creative mind is as lethal as ANY weapons they are given/take.
Which is probably part of the reason Samurai died out, it’s all about the katana for them and nothing else!
@@willnack5315 Not really.History went on and it has no place for civilizations that do not adapt.Imperials left they swords for guns and abandoned their fight for glory and such so samurai decided to die with glory than to live in shame.Even at the last battle of the samurai era which was the battle of shiroyama the samurai were outnumbered 60 to 1 the samurais killed off like 9000 imperial troops using the castle cannons and their swords

Yeah, pointed at your DM's throat. Get creative enough and they're going to start throwing things explicitly to counter literally every trick after you use it once. You subvert/break down one planned encounter, you impress the DM. Do it twice, they begrudgingly acknowledge your skill. Do it three times, they stop pretending to give you fair fights and start trying to explicitly kill you within the rules. ...Or is that just mine.

But seriously. I used to love to see how players would come up with solutions I never thought of. Usually it worked for them. Some times it didn't. Had one come up with an idea to perform a great aerial feat to position himself, directly infront of the terrorist with the rocket launcher. This was one of the rare occasions this players legendary dice failed him and he missed some of the scene description. What was left was squeegeed into a sandwich baggy.
Had another who went to save another character that had been kidnapped on Solaris VII. This guy dragged the entire mercenary battalion allong with him to "help". All 300 of them. Sneak attack is gone, but a war breaks out. Good guys win the fire fight, but now the building is on fire, with the kidnappy still inside. Character orders all 300 of his people (you have good odds of not losing anyone fighting 20 to 1 odds and you are the 20) to pee on the fire to put it out. Amazing rolls, it works. Kidnappy is saved and every one goes back to camp for beer. Cops are too stunned to stop them.

@@eammonmurphy3519 Whole mission was a comedy of errors. The battalion guys were screwing up left and right. They were the ones who actually started the fire. Our hero, the leader, think John Candy facepalming every turn as something else goes wrong. Finally at the end with kidnappy in the building on fire, our hero tells the battalion who asks what they should do, "WELL PISS ON IT! THERE'S 300 OF US HERE THAT HAS TO COUNT FOR SOMETHING!"

This is why Goblin Slayer is so badass. He's litterally the main character of a story where in a normal world he would just be an occasional side character.
The big heroes, the trio of suped up girls that take on and destroy the world threatening Demon Lord and his horde and should be the main focus of this universe, are just rarely mentioned side characters. He's the unspoken and little known hero of this world, and performs his deeds without expectations of fame or fortune.
He does the Lord's work.
Debatable, but I do think He appreciates it! To quote Mike Ro’s most famous show “It’s a Dirty Job, but someone’s gotta do it!”

Stan Holmes thing is priestess actually breaks a lot of earth mother church rules. She wears armor, she uses her spells not to protect but to kill. Yet she was never punished, and earth mother never turned away from her calls. In LN if I remember correctly head priestess from her church is taking her sins upon herself to help her
The Earth Mother is in fact a Goddess of War, too. Just... honorable war, righteous wars, and not extermination.

This actually makes me think of drifters when they use the girls stone wall talismans as an offensive tool as well. Gotta love the protagonists who know how to use anything as a weapon.
He fights smart. Thinks on his feet. And thinks outside the box. I thought he'd just be Doomguying everything but Slayer putting this kind of thought into his fights is something I like about him. Like Kaname from Darwin's Game.
