      I agree. His best. I heard this guy say at a record store that Tommy was his masterpiece and that Quadrophenia was trash..... can't disagree more.

    Every old school Who Fan's favorite album, and for me Live at Leeds obsession through high school. The connection is visceral , as are chord layouts. Brutal then delicate. The Band is simply put , precious.

    Fantastic job my friend 👍 it sounds perfect, your tone chords and technique are spot on! Now it really makes me wonder if Pete actually used a "Ricki" to play this?
    I thought "Quadraphenia" was during his "SG/LES PAUL" time but I know he did play Riki's I've never researched what was used for this album or know if the information is even available but in any event "this is awesome" always loved this song and like all Pete's material very fun to play! .....and that is a beautiful axe!

      Thanks a lot! You're right about Quadrophenia, the era-correct guitar for this tune would be a junior SG.

      Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins through a tweed Bandmaster that Joe Walsh gave him, I believe that was his primary rig during this period. I also remember hearing he had a '57 Strat as well as his stalwart Gibsons.

    Great guitar work. You've done Pete proud. Of course, by this time in the 1970's Pete was a "Gibson man" BUT the rick sounds spot-on. I too have a 360.

      Many thanks, Ian! I was trying to see how close I could get the Rick to a P90 SG. It's crazy how those two can actually imitate each other, given how different they are in construction.

    What year is your Rick? Is there any difference besides cosmetic between the 360 and 330?

    • @becauseguitarsolos1264
      @becauseguitarsolos1264  2 года назад +1

      It's a 1988 model. The 360s have the 'Rick-o-sound' stereo output, the 330s are mono. To my knowledge that's the only difference besides looks. I actually have never even tried to use the stereo feature, so it's nothing I would miss in a 330.

    • @wwsohare

      I believe that too..not sure of the name of the chord but the B and G strings on the diagram need to come up one fret each to have your sound I believe. Is that correct.

      Thank you! It's the Rick straight into an AC30, cranked. It's not at all the era-correct Quadrophenia set-up, but it gets you in the ballpark.
