What do you use in place of almonds? Im allergic to almonds.
Mary that was absolutely beautiful. I did my granddaughters cake last Saturday and I swore I was done. It took me 10 hours to frost / decorate the cake. I used buttercream cream, mostly with crisco and 1/2 stick of butter per a 2lb bag of powdered sugar and water because it was going to be hot. However, when I used a comb that made impressions like using a spatula, they did OK at first but if I made a mistake and had to add a little bit more buttercream, it just seem like I couldn’t get it even I was so frustrated I mean I was really ready to quit, but I persevered got it done and I kept thinking. I wonder if Mary has any issues like this?
All....the......time! It can be so frustrating! But when you are done, you step back and look at it and think , ok I kind of love it. Labor of love!

what did you "paint" the mushrooms with?
I think I just used Edible petal dusts.
One question....doesn't almond Bark have almonds in it? I don't see any in yours....
Good question! I gave always used it and always called it almond Bark. But never thought about how it is made.....Maybe it is called something else in other places? It is a candy coating.

Aha! It looks like it's a make your own so you would add the almonds yourself. Makes sense. I don't think we have that brand in Canada, sadly 😔
@michelewells85 You can use just regular chocolate too in the same way;) It may just soften faster. Tempered chocolate would be best, but I am not good at that:(
