    I know it was addressed during the live comp but the refereeing for this event was really weak. Half these reps shouldn't have been allowed based on the way this event has been officiated in the past.

    • @espenstoro
      @espenstoro 2 месяца назад +11

      Yep. Can't blame the athletes, they'll take the down signal if it's given, and do it again if not. This needs to be tightened up.

      I don't even like the event. It should be solid press, not a throw up. But bigger numbers look better.

    3:42 'If the ref gave it, it counts' - this was the worst lockout ever (nothing against Evan, he's great) but it still counts because the ref gave it. Pavlo was given the shield carry by the ref but it doesn't count. What a joke of a competition.

    • @GreatNeal85
      @GreatNeal85 2 месяца назад +2

      The line on the shield carry is an objective standard that you can easily see on replay, while the dumbbell is subjective so you can only go with the refs.

      This comp used to be better in the early 2000s when the judging wasn't soft like it is today.

      Indeed. You can even see Evan knew he havnt locked it, but if ref says its good, ofc he drops it. Mitch was never upright and got it aswell, so its kinda fair between those two atleast. However, it did affect the overall points in a bad way.

    I support hooper getting his rep, because he showed control, but Evan shouldn't have been given the rep. It's not his fault though. I also think he would have gotten the rep given another second

    Look how Novikov and Kordiyaka locked out their reps and then look how Mitchell and Evan did it. Like, come on, in what world is that a good lift!? I know Mitchell nor Evan are to blame for this, but the athletes that actually did good reps are suffering from this bad judging
