    Yeah, so we recorded this right before Christmas, prices and sales may have changed since then, sorry about the disinfo. We bought the shoe right went it came out on the Adidas site, but it's since been taken down. Supposedly the 9 isn't coming til September, so snag a pair of 8 if they're on sale in the next few months.

      You’re saying the 9 isn’t coming out til September 2023?
      That is weird, they were 100% up for sale on Adidas’ website. And they’re still up for sale on Running Warehouse. Adidas are u drunk.

    I am with Robbie: If a shoe comes out in December, include in the following year shoes. There is not enough time for full evaluation of December shoes (or even they might not have made to most stores), so it makes sense to consider them in the next year.
    That said I have 3 pairs of Takumi Sen 8, in different colorways. I got the tinman edition early summer and loved the shoe, so I obtained two more during Thanksgiving at deep discount prices. It is a great shoe and TS9 is minor update (why mess with a great shoe)

  • @alastairscott6061
    @alastairscott6061 6 месяцев назад

    I went for my first run in my new Takumi Sen 9's this morning; a 30 minute easy run (c.5:30m/km), followed by a 'fast' paced final 10 mins (c.4:00m/km). And after slapping the tarmac with heavy feet for 30 minutes, I was fairly certain I was going to return them as soon as I got home. But then... when the time came to pick up the pace... strewth! The difference once you 'get on your toes' in these weapons is like night and day. Rather than slapping the pavement, I suddenly felt like I was running on a sprung floor. I'm seriously excited to see what I can do in these over a sustained 5k.
    Based on this (one) run, I'm quite surprised when people say that they think these are good for longer runs. But maybe that's because I'm equating long with slow? I actually think the criteria for success in these shoes is all down to how fast you're going - whether that's sustained over a longer run, or doing intervals at top speed. Essentially, if you're 'on your toes', I think you're probably guaranteed a good time in these shoes, but I definitely don't think they're great for just cruising.
    Having just retired my Endorphin Speed 1's (I stopped running for a while back there...) I'm now building a new rotation: Boston 12's for my daily shoe, Asics Superblasts (incoming...!) for longer efforts and this little German gem for anything speedy.
    Exciting times...

      I just bought the 9s and will use them for a marathon next month. Some people say they aren't good for a full marathon. Did you find they responded well to the full distance or were your feet feeling heavy toward the end?

    • @ThatFlowState
      @ThatFlowState 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@wodenravens I felt really comfortable to about the 30 km mark from which point on I had to work a bit more. Now I think that's not unusual for a marathon but I've not run one in another "super shoe". So I cannot compare them to something like the Adios Pro 3. I appreciated that the Takumi Sen aren't overly stiff while still having that great Lightstrike Pro foam. My feet felt fine afterwards without any particular soreness, blisters or black toenails. I hope that helps, feel free to ask anything else.
