My patron Saint; nice. This was a good summary of his ideas on the topic. The analogy of the names/attributes being akin to God’s body is really helpful.
Just a quick thank you for your offerings, Trey. Just recently discovered your rich content and ready to explore more of your offerings. Gratitude
Merlin’s BEARD! This makes so much sense, thank you :)))))DDDDDDDXXXXXXXXXXXZKZKZKZKZKZKZKZKZKKZK
Very nice Trey, and I particularly liked the example you made with the body: we indeed possess our bodies but are not reducible to them, as God possesses God's Names, but is not reducible to them. God is irreducible yet describable seems to the fine balance between "positive" and "negative" theology...Anyway, great work!
I love the Julius Evola book there😆 I thought I was the only one who'd ever read Evola tbh
Like and comment on every video guys, it helps get the word out more!!!
You should check out Palamas' Triads and his 150 chapters. Also David Bradshaw's Aristotle East and West is a great resource for this subjuct.
I would love to see your take on Zizioulas book "being as communion".
good work

Trying to come up with a clever comment rn, I’ll come back and leave it if I think of one
By Allah this makes me question absolute divine simplicity…
Aren’t you a Muslim….
I was Muslim for over 15 yrs. I converted to Roman Catholicism in 2017 & recently converted to Orthodoxy.

Divine simplicity is usually affirmed by shias, not sunnis

I don't see why names are relevant in discussing or talking about god. Names are just labels and have no useful meaning other than that. You cannot even identify an entity by a name (or label). You also need an address. If there were only one God then a name would be sufficient. But at the last count there was a general disagreement as to how many gods exist. Apparently this runs from 33 to 300,000,000. I somewhat admire your attempt to make sense of gobbledygook but at the end of the day it is still gobbledygook.
If there were one God, then multiple names for that one God would not disprove His existence. Just as a first, middle and last name does not disprove my existence.
