I bet when it comes to times like this ppl wish they lived in a flat . I'm in the UK and we don't really hear about major flooding to much especially in places like London . My house had flooded three times, (twice while I have lived there) one in 2014 was just a flood and it was about 7 feet in my house, and the second time was in 2020 in Hurricane Sally, it was about 3 1/2 feet and we had a tree on the roof
This is so sad... if a storm like Harvey came in my city (in FL) and it stalled, my house wouldn't flood. I live in the highest point of my neighborhood, so it's impossible for my house to be flooded, even if it's 20 feet of water. It all runs down to to pond way back in the woods. My heart goes out to those in tragedy.

Shade Savage it's true. When I was living in Oklahoma once we had this tornado and there was water and power lines down everywhere. Cops were everywhere blocking people off so they don't step on them and ..ya know..die..I couldn't go home until it got cleaned up

From my time doing Flood Damage Assessments with the Red Cross, my future home will have electrical outlets at least 2 feet above floor level. And minimal drywall nor wood on the first floor. Poured concrete is the way to go.

I’m lucky I lived in Houston for 6 years and when Harvey came we moved 6 months before
I was born and raised in Houston and I still live there, I remember being so scared 🙁

ive lived in texas for 8 years almost 9 and ive got to see friends and family get thier houses ruined by hurricane harvey, i live in conroe so it dident affect me. but poor corpus, i used to live in corpus!!

I survived two hurricanes with no injuries
First one was sandy nothing happened to my home but some roof tiles where missing then i moved to texas and survived harvey. My house wasnt damage at all. Im lucky but at the same time i feel bad for the people who lost there homes or there himes flooded

I was in TERRIFYINGLY Hurricane zeta :) we lost power as soon as the rain and winds came. We had no power for 2 days.We had to shower in dard and in cold water. all it was is to play outside. My 24 hours I'm we decided to go to my uncle who had power. Traffic lights were still not up so traffic was our problem. We charged phones. Btw it was my first time getting Chick-fil-A. And guess what? The power people told us the guessing time when our power was coming on! He said "it will be on by saturday." But a miracle happend! Right after my mom took her shower at 8, our power came on early. But during the hurricane, didn't want to look out window. It was so scary. I hate sleeping with no fan at all. But there is still one intersection that still doesn't have working traffic lights and it's 3 months later! But let's talk more about the traffic lights. All intersection s that had traffic lights hanging on wires were destroyed. But ones hanging on pokes was still working. I still gets shivers to thins day
