  • Don't waste your time expecting people to listen to you when they already know everything. No amout of experience or expertise will make people listen to you.

I have to say... I've struggled with these feelings for about three years now. Not claiming to be a "know-it-all" but, knowing that I've studied sound and media more in that time that I've studied for my degree. To have musicians, the choir, and sometimes even the pastor dismiss my suggestions only to have things turn out like I said they would and them still not understanding that my suggestions are only meant to improve things, has caused me to get into my feelings ALOT. As the one that put the entire "sound and media ministry" together by myself, this really helped me understand that its not just me going through this. I'd like to add... We have to know why we're doing what we do. It's for God's glory. You will receive your reward in the end... Keep pushing!

Hi I have been watching you since 2021. You were the first person I watched to learned about live streaming obs and cameras. I have experienced the same thing wanting to help my church take technology/live streaming to another level but they are not ready. They heard me but didn't want to listen. Instead they listened to others who said the same thing. So now I don't offer any info. I had to learn don't waist my time trying to help those who don't want it. Keep up what you are doing you helped me.

This goes with what I have always said, "I don't care how slow you are, how many times I have to repeat myself, or how long it takes, I can teach anyone AS LONG AS THEY ARE WILLING TO LEARN." If you think you know more than me, and I have nothing to teach you, then you are right, there is nothing I can teach you.

AJay, I understand and agree wit your frustration. Sometimes, you have to just "walk away and shake your head." I think in the Old Testament, they shook the dust off the sandals.
It is almost a daily mission of yours to continue learning, while the leaders deem themselves All Knowing. You hate to say "I told you so, but ..."
I get tired of the rejection also, but, I continue tto try and be positive, and continue learning. As you know, there is so much to learn, and there is so much technological transition every six to 12 months!
Move on to the next person / project.

Ajay, I clicked on the thumbnail thinking this was a short film (also because I have followed you for a while and wanted to see what you are up to now). This was like popping your head into a movie theater for the pre-movie commercials, then ending up stay for the featured presentation.
This episode almost describes exactly what happened to me yesterday when I was called in to resolved Streaming audio issues for or church. ...I left the church yesterday, so defeated, and vowed to not have to deal with "these people" again! However, after watching this episode, I am determined to go back and resolve that issue (with-or-without "these people"). After all, I went to try to help the church, not this particular individual(s)
Thank you for all you do. I have learned a lot from your channel.

As part of Discipleship, i am learning to invest/sow into others and let God handle the rest. I am sure if we ask any farmer in the world if they expect every seed to grow, they would say absolutely not. They still stay consistent to the process, which in our case is sharing our knowledge AND trusting God.

We are fortunate that most people in our congregation and staff truly appreciate the volunteers who make streaming and other media presentations possible. There's always a few who say, "it oughta be easy to do that," when they have no clue what goes into it. I always ask them to volunteer, and they always have a reason why they can't. 🙄

Same way I feel I wanted my church to record services since internet options were bad rule area.
But now we have an option that is not working and we cannot stream services on RUclips. 😢

To answer your question on what do you do, how do you do it. You answered your own question at 5:56. You sir are a blessing. Our church recently began its path down the E-Ministry and to learn.. I watched hours of you. You have answered soooo many questions and for that i am extremely grateful. Keep doing what you do!

I offered my assistance & counsel to a church in this area. For a year & a half, maybe longer, I regularly recorded video for them of services & special occasions. Those recordings were weekly uploaded to their channel on YT. They said they wanted to livestream but yet have not done so. I provided links to articles & hardware that they could consider. I no longer attempt to offer such help.

I am learning to make sure we do not give our pearls to swine. Keep sharing the information just be mindful to give it to those that actually appreciate your knowledge.

I had the new Pastor go off on me in a meeting just for making a small suggestion about how people could rewatch the announcements on RUclips. He ranted for about 10 minute and then would not let me explain the concept of this being a step to take while we developed something better. This happened in a church leadership meeting and this was not the first time. In the year that he has been here I don’t think he has ever trusted me but I kept doing the job. Members of the leadership have called me with support. The pastor sent me a text 5 days later to apologize after a meeting with church leadership which I did not attend. I am about to step down due to a lack of trust from the pastor. I feel that is a good teacher of the word but no longer a Shepard that I can follow. I love the people at the church but I don’t know if I can stay. I will take some time off to fast and pray about where the Lord leads me next. Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I don't understand what doing that to someone will produce. "Oh please sir please kick me in the face again, I love it" said by no one.

I may not know a lot about media since am just starting out, but I work in cybersecurity I have Networking experience so I knew it would not work.
Now we spent over $20k on some equipment but no one even asked me as well about the decision when the deacons decided to but.
Now, we have this equipment not mounted, no screen mounted on wall for visibility purposes and going to get another one.
All this could have been done with TV mounts instead and it would have worked great for that price.
But, they did not ask people in church for expert advice.
