      @@al2498 r u retarded?, when his cap fell off his head it is considered a hindrance , it must be replayed , just like there was once a point when andy murray cap fell off during a point. If you do not know what you are talking about , kindly shut the fuck up.

    • @PC-tp4cn
      @PC-tp4cn Месяц назад +14

      @@al2498 No, it is a rule that if a ball falls out of the player's pocket or their hat falls off, it is a let and the point should be replayed. As long as it is unintentional. This has happened in other matches as well.

    • @Chinguenguenza
      @Chinguenguenza Месяц назад +6

      This is the exact wording of the rule (from USTA): A let is never authorized for a hindrance caused by something within a player’s control, such as when a player’s racket comes out of a hand, when a player’s shoe comes off, or when a player trips over the player’s own hat. However, if a player’s hat falls off during a point, an opponent may immediately call a let due to unintentional hindrance.
      The last part is confusing as hell. Notice that the rule says an opponent may call a let (it does not say that the hat-less player can call a let). The principle of “you cannot hinder yourself” cited by referee seems to apply. Therefore Thompson is wrong. No let. His hat, his problem, he should have played the point.

    • @PC-tp4cn
      @PC-tp4cn Месяц назад +2

      @@Chinguenguenza That is reasonable. But I've seen matches where lets are authorized due to a ball falling out of the player's pocket or their hat falling off. Such as a match between Andy Murray and FAA in Rotterdam a few years ago. Happened on match point. Idk, every umpire seems to be going by their own rules these days lmao

Even worse, your strike any small YT channel that posts highlights of matches that you don't show on your channel. You're not promoting tennis. You are killing it.
