So happy that Kei is playing like that and so sad that Meddy is out of the tournament😢
They didn't let Medvedev take a sh*t that's why.
pairing nishikori backhand with tsitsipas backhand was night and day
One of the best 2 handed bhs vs one of the worst 1 handed bhs
It’s a mystery how Tsitsipas’s backhand has slowly declined over the years. It used to actually be considered one of his best weapons back in 2018-2021.
@@Ryvc1202-x9yokay, I don’t think it was ever a “good weapon”, but it was never this much of a liability at least. Back then, it was “hit to his backhand to have a chance of winning”, now it’s “hit to his backhand to almost certainly win”
@@Ryvc1202-x9y not realy man, but yeah it definetly wasn t as garbage as it is now. It just baffles me ho someone as talented as tsitsipas can t properly slice or block returns

Love seeing Nishikori back on court AND winning. What a guy. 🔥
Amazing to see Nishikori back with a big win.
Tsitsipas is no longer a "big" win unfortunately
I'm very happy to see Nishikori healthy again and hitting like a champ.
GO!NISHIKORI!!!🤩
Happy to watch Air K😊
Nishikori is growing. anticipation, point building and ball-placing are all up.
Yes Nishikori is indeed growing in all important facets in winning points without big changes in his game. So much more satisfying to watch him play now than ever.👏
Sinner sure loves his hard courts
My man nishikori played like a top 10 today after coming back from injury.
looks like nishikori decided to hit harder and end points within 3...he's got the goods why not.
This reminds me of 2014's kei. He is on fire, dude!
Kei ranked #4 during BIG4 era which is more valuable than winning current MS these few years.
日本の誇りです!!!
LET'S GO KEI!!!🇯🇵💪💪🔥🔥
Damn id rather watch nishikori play than almost all these current gen and next gen players.
is that an insult or smth ? kei at his normal level is one of the most spectacular shotmakers out there, there is no shame for ne players to not be s spectacular.
Couldn't agree more bro.
@@VladRadu-tq1pg it's an insult to current "next gen", if you take away alcaraz and maybe sinner, it's all farts
@@wgJatdgt08rf his character too has to make him so special. not shouting at is box. asking the crowd for attention. not mad at other player. not playing grunting games. not smashing his racquet. not hitting the ball in anger between points. not arguing w the chair umpire. just a very respectful person and speaks thru his talent and game. He can beat and has beat all big 3. i think its a big part the japanese culture. go to japan they dont steal, graffiti, complain, litter the streets.. very good people. Nishikori all day!
im glad to hear that as a japanese
How Let's go vs Thompson match ended is just so hilarious.
What exactly is Thompson whining about? That HIS cap fell from HIS head while HIS service and he didn't get the point replayed? Ridiculous.
@@al2498 r u retarded?, when his cap fell off his head it is considered a hindrance , it must be replayed , just like there was once a point when andy murray cap fell off during a point. If you do not know what you are talking about , kindly shut the fuck up.
@@al2498 No, it is a rule that if a ball falls out of the player's pocket or their hat falls off, it is a let and the point should be replayed. As long as it is unintentional. This has happened in other matches as well.
This is the exact wording of the rule (from USTA): A let is never authorized for a hindrance caused by something within a player’s control, such as when a player’s racket comes out of a hand, when a player’s shoe comes off, or when a player trips over the player’s own hat. However, if a player’s hat falls off during a point, an opponent may immediately call a let due to unintentional hindrance.
The last part is confusing as hell. Notice that the rule says an opponent may call a let (it does not say that the hat-less player can call a let). The principle of “you cannot hinder yourself” cited by referee seems to apply. Therefore Thompson is wrong. No let. His hat, his problem, he should have played the point.
@@Chinguenguenza That is reasonable. But I've seen matches where lets are authorized due to a ball falling out of the player's pocket or their hat falling off. Such as a match between Andy Murray and FAA in Rotterdam a few years ago. Happened on match point. Idk, every umpire seems to be going by their own rules these days lmao
Sinner’s firepower even higher now
Big shame he missed olympics
@@perotin211🤡
@@perotin211I doubt he would've won gold or silver
@@perotin211Not a big shame. He has given Djokovic his well deserved gold medal and Sinner has plenty of time to get a gold medal. Praying Sinner doesn't get injured 🤞

I was missing nishikori so much welcome back on tour ❤
錦織フォア単体で見ると明らかに良くなってるよね
Tsitsipas' backhand showed improvement in the clay season this year. I'm surprised it got so bad again
It’s cuz clay gives him more time
@@candeon.3842 True but also the power, the shot itself... he made a lot of good backhands in Monte Carlo
Sinner, even as world n1 is still so underrated.. Everyone talking about Nole and Carlos.. They'll be having a lot of cold showers
Well lately it was talked about Carlos and Nole for good reasons, right?! French Open, Wimbledon, Olympia - who else should people have talked about the most during this time?? 🤷
At the beginning of the year when Yannik won the Ausi Open and became nr. 1 there was just as much talk about him everywhere (rightfully so).
Who else we should've been talking about frankly?
in case you didn't noticed, Alcaraz and Djokovic played against each others in the Wimbledon (after Carlos won RG) and the Olympics finals.
Nishikori está en buena forma
How Thompson beat Draper in straight sets is a mystery
im so proud of nishikori
Man, Alcaraz has been my favorite player for the past 3 years, watching his rise to the top was something else. But Sinner just continues to improve beyond measure. Quality shot after quality shot. Effortless power and extremely high court IQ. Tennis will be in VERY good hands well after Nole finally hangs it up.
9:20 it’s not like if Thompson was going to turn the match around.
Foki seemed more focused without his ponytail 😝 n got his first win over Meddy 🥳👏👏
Nice win for Jannik.👏
Thrilled to see Kei back again!!!
Tsitsipas strategy: Play high and deep to his backend, get a short ball, put it away. Tsitsi really needs to reengineer his backend, especially in defensive positions.
It's a same story for years now. I don't believe it will change
He really needs to get rid of the dad and get a proper elite coach
@@nachoborke i agree but i don't believe he has ability and mentality to change...his dad is there because stef likes it that Way and don't want to change
@@pascalrolla you are definitely right. It is a pity because he has shown sooo much potential and with his killer forehand, a good one hand backhand would be awesome but it just tickles opponents
I also think he’s too comfortable where he is, in terms of money and competitive pressure i.e. I don’t think he stresses too much after a loss. I don’t believe he has elite mentality or motivation to be top 3 player, although I think he has the potential in terms of raw skills. And that may be perfectly fine, even though a bit disappointing for the fans, but he’s living a good life nevertheless, coming from a country where average pay is 1-1.5K EUR per month.
congratulation Nishilkori recuerdo que estaba en el top 10
うれしい
These bots are insane 💀
Ive been seeing Coric highlights for 5 years now and still have no clue how he looks like
Rud’s game is always soo clean 😍🥰 forever rooting for him
Impressive match from Fokina, seems he has worked a lot on his forehand consistency and also serve.
He had one of the biggest choke of the year against Cobolli in the previous tournament, nothing has changed mentally for him.
I suggest you to expect nothing from Davidovich, just enjoy what he did 2 days ago.
3:50 Air-K😭
Kei is coming back, thats awesome 💪
In the last tournament,...D-Fokina THREW AWAY a match that he had in his hand..!!! Look at the look on his face now..!!! He has the look in his eyes, like MORE determined than I've seen him before......The SPANISH BLOND BOMBER...........GOOOOOO FOKINA...!!!!
Let’s go Kei!
Didn't recognise Fokki with the Adidas + buzzcut combo!
Sinner - winner! 💪
No highlights of Shelton vs Popyrin?
Sinner is so clean👏👏👏👍
Love the Verdasco's Celebration
Tsispas always getn an ear full from his pops now that he’s always posting how much in love he is on instagram 😆
I don't want to sound rude but why doesn't Tsitsipas hire a proper trainer who can help him improve his one handed backhand? The guy has a strong serve and a nice forehand but that backhand is a liability and it sometimes looks like an amateur shot (maybe I'm wrong but isn't he late with the preparation of the shot? That is also something that my coach always tell me xD). Why not trying to ask Ljubicic who also helped Federer?
Reality test for Thompson. This is NOT Atlanta 😮
He actjally beat Zverev multiple times in the past.
Tsitispas strikes again. Only decent on clay
Where are Andrey's highlights?!
Duckworth is a problem when he wants to be. Good showing for him.
Nisha having a tough ass draw
Respect to zverev saying let's replay that point knowing that his opponent is not in a good place and frustrated. Class act!
It's not hard to say that when you are up 5:1 on match point. It would be quite different if it were 6:5 in a tiebreaker of the final set.

Nishikory !!!!
Tsitsipas absolutely destroyed on his backhand, in almost all points Nishi attacks his backhand and then he gets a shortball and finish.
Not sure if this was Nishikori playing nuts or just Tsitsipas still on his downhill. Happy for Nishikori tho! He needs more games like these to get back in the swing of things!
Nishikori nuts for sure
both
With Shelton, Medvedev, and (to a lesser extent) Tsitsipas already out, although I would enjoy a Cinderella run from Kei or Casper, this is looking like a Sinner-Zverev final all the way. Hope they're on other sides of the draw!
You're very confident about Zverev, i don't think he'll get past Rune.
no Tabilo? 😢
Debatably Medvedev's worst game of the year. Considering it's hard as well. As for Shelton, losing 5 straight points in tiebreaks is apparently standard for him now
medvedev’s performance against sinner in miami was even worse
@@SwanTech6061 yeah but at least it's against sinner
@@isrln fair enough. it feels like this year might be the start of medvedev’s actual decline.
@@SwanTech6061 Medvedev reached his ceiling years ago. There is no going upwards from here. He should be happy his game and technique brought him so far actually.

You're talking like his ceiling his some mediocre stuff, blud is N°5 in the world and a former n°1.
He's still regularly playing semis and finals of GS.
I watch Zverev play and im like how the heck has this dude not won a slam
Cos he's still a choker on the biggest points.
2 reasons.
1- Lack of handskill.
2- Weak mentally, there's always going to be a time in a match where he sits 4 meters behind the baseline and retrieves, not to mention his double fault issue that can still pop out from time to time.
shaping up to be a great tournament...its like the players amp up toward the US open, probably because only one of 2 hardcourt majors which all of them know.
Rune? Rublev? Wtf!!!
go ruud!!!

I'll be keeping an eye out for you on the pro tour
@VladRadu-tq1pg tbf it was a really bad dropshot. But 1 shot does not define anything.
That said, Alcaraz is definitely the superior player between the 2 by a fair amount imo

Lame ! No Rune's, no Rublev's, No Dimitrov's, No Paul's No Popyrin's, No Khachanov's, No Tabilo's matches. And you repost twice same highlights as earlier for some "loved" players. Just plain stupid for an official channel which supposed to treat each player with fairness. Even worse, your strike any small YT channel that posts highlights of matches that you don't show on your channel. You're not promoting tennis. You are killing it.
realistically they’re not going to highlight every match but true for the 2nd part
@@SwanTech6061 at least they should make separate video for popular players and make a longer video for the others. Besides, I noticed they despise some players like Rune, Paul, Kecmanovic, Draper and so on. If a person happens to be a fan of one of these player, they have no highlights. Unfair to say the least.
camera work in Montreal is terrible. immediate cut aways from after wining shot it's is disorientating stop the busy changes in camera angles.
what a bizarre end to the zverev v thompson match... zverev wanted to replay the point, right? is that even allowed to happen or does the umpire make the final decision?
If an player wants to replay a point out fo sportsmanship, i think a referee can't refuse.
It's just that Thomspon didn't wanted to replay it, he wanted his nightmarishly bad performance to end.
It is the umpire's call, but they usually go with the players' wish. However, remember Meddy's "Its gonna be on tennis tv bro" meme? ..... Umpire, she declined the request and said she already called the point loss to Meddy.
@@user-ex7ut1db3q so kind of an inconsistent grey area... hard to compare the few instances of it happening, but seems like a matter of the ump's discretion in that moment

Jawohl Nishikori 😊👍
Coric is too weak against Sinner
Wow, isn't Nishikori 40 or something? I guess he's going to be playing longer than Federer.
He's nearly 35, but hasn't been playing for nearly 3 years.
Actually it's funny how the same people happy for kei playing well n coming through wanted Novak who is still doing so well to retire 😅😅😅
Djokovic painted as some poor victim never gets old here on tennis tv comment sections.
錦織さんすげえ😂
Jawohl Fokina 😊👍
When Fokina wants to play and run is a top 10 player….
His match against Casper at Roland Garros was highly entertaining.
Wait ain’t he a Spaniard? I thought that running for every damn ball style was in everyone of them’s dna😂
@@syncs1853 Yes he is from Spain, he lives and trains in Marbella like Djokovic, who also runs a little bit ;-). If you haveńt seen him to much, he is an aggressive player that takes a lot of risk and have a game of attacking all the time, similar to Carlos Alcaraz but with less consistency and much weak mentality. I invite you to watch some videos of him, like the tournament he did in Rome 2 years ago. By the way, hope you enjoyed the dominance of Nadal during the last 20 years and that you will enjoy the dominance of Carlos Alcaraz for the next 10 and sorry to hear you dońt like Spanish players/people.

Ben Shelton hit a ceiling, the dude has literally no gameplan.
His returning game is nonexistent and he immediately tries to blast super flat balls each godamn time he puts his racket on it.
You can't win tournaments, or beat to players like that, let alone M1000 or GS.

@@mwoz14222
Because he played today and lost against Popyrin in 2 sets.
I'm surprised the highlights didn't showed his match.
I wouldnt say he hit his ceiling. He has a LOT to work on
The fact that you just listed so many weaknesses proves that he has NOT hit his ceiling. He's still super young and clearly has a lot to improve on. His ceiling is far far higher than his current level, it's just a question of whether he's able to hit his full potential or not

That is a stupid rule. It is your own problem that your hat fell off. How about if I trip on my shoelaces while serving, would that be a let too?
Corci winner of the ❤s 😂
I cannot stand how this commentator refers to serving as “from the line.” No one says this and there are many lines on a tennis court so it makes no sense. He always does this. Unbelievably irritating

9:12 You can not hinder yourself, of course it's a hinderance when can't hit a proper two hander. What a dumb umpire.
What? The umpire was correct. You cannot stop the play only because your own cap fell off…
his hat fell off, it is his problem. Same if I trip on my shoeslaces while running for a ball, would that be hindrance and reason to replay the point? You got to be kidding here
So when you're losing the point you can just shake your hat off and call hindrance? Don't be stupid Thomas
His own fault for wearing a backwards hat trying hard to look cool.
8:50 these umpires get dumber by the day. How is that not a let replay? I've seen it get called a let all the time. Hat falls off or a ball falls of out of a pocket, it's a let.
