- I was ready to throw away this eye shadow palette because it no longer "sparked joy." But then, I decided that the colors were too pretty to get rid of. So I headed to my craft room to have a little fun creating these elegant background panels that I created in today's video.

What a creative idea. I think they would make fun galaxy backgrounds as well.
Great idea, Gina. Now I am off to check out my makeup drawer to find some eyeshadow that no longer sparks joy so I can repurpose it in my craft room. What a fun and beautiful technique. TFS.
I knew right away that was a NYX palette!! Such beautiful colors! I have a different NYX one that I'd use for backgrounds sometimes, but OH MY GOSH, that Swiffer trick is BRILLIANT!! My jaw literally dropped and I can't wait to try that! Love your videos and much love 💞
Love this technique Gina!!! I used to be a makeup artist and have many old eye shadow pallets in storage. Thanks for the inspiration!!! Going to try this technique with my card making group. They will love it!
Makes sense that eyeshadow could be used as it is much like Perfect Pearls. Beautiful backgrounds. Thank you for sharing the technique.
Very pretty Gina! Now I know what I can do with all my old eye shadows😊
Lovely cards & awesome techniques!
This is a fun project..I am going to use my eyeshadow for the background part.of my black cardstock! Thanks

This technique creates lovely backgrounds. Thanks Gina.
Beautiful cards Gina! I like how you repurposed the eyeshadow to make these awesome card backgrounds. I will be trying this technique. Have a great day and tfs. 🥰

How gorgeous!
I ordered the eye shadows in your supply list & just tried it & they do turn out gorgeous!! I tried on black & on kraft & am very impressed. Very easy to do with fantastic results.
GREAT IDEA! I have so many eye shadows either from my younger yrs that I didn't use, or older yrs that came in a palette of just a few I did use. I hated to throw them away. What a wonderful idea for card making. Thank you Gina! Your ideas are the best!!! Again, thank you and THUMBS UP!
I love this idea!! Thank you for sharing!!
Beautiful and so clever. Kind of cracks me up though that with all of the inks and other craft supplies you have you could still stay open to some out of the box ideas. Thank you for sharing your itme, talent and inspiration.
Great way to use those eyeshadows you don’t like anymore. I have loads of them. Your cards and the backgrounds are gorgeous!
Thanks for sharing...
Very pretty. Glad you tried it. Something new for me.

Such a great idea! Now I will have to go through my makeup stash to see what I can use. TFS!
Awesome idea! Will have to try this out, thanks for sharing Gina.
The cards came out so beautiful, Gina! I really love the process and the look of the eye shadow, not something I have in my cabinets but will be on the lookout for sales. I will just have to say they are for my niece when purchasing, lol. Thanks for always inspiring us to make beautiful cards than in turn make people smile and feel better! That's what this whole thing is about, making people feel better and special, one card at a time! ❤❤❤❤
This would be so bold on white paper! So cool!
This is such an old-school Gina K. video, like before you were a brand with products - took me back! Don’t get me wrong, I love your products. This was just that little bit outside the box and it made me smile.
Thanks Gina for such a great background idea.
Makes perfect sense!! Awesome idea & creation !!

Those are pretty wild eye shadow colors, Gina! 😝 It is hard to see you wearing those colors. 😉They look great on the cards! Great idea!
Wow what a great idea
merveilleuse idée, merci
This a wonderful idea and I love your cards you made. I have eye shadow palettes I never use as they were free with purchase and not my style. I am going to repurpose them for this technique. Thank you!
Hello, new subbie friend here from Orlando. Hi Gina. I was searching about using eyeshadow for this same purpose and came across your video. I think it's Exactly what I want!!!
Thank you for sharing
Have a blessed night 🦋
Love this idea I am going to have a go at this, thank you for sharing
OMG what an amazing idea!! Got make up that I don't want to throw away cause it's beautiful, but just not a color that I would use, and the rest of the set is empty (already used up), so I can use this this way and when its empty, thow it away, finally, and have a couple of beautiful cards. SUCH A BRILLIANT IDEA !
Your cards are beautiful! What a creative way to make ink blended backgrounds. :)
Lovely technique.
Genius, Gina!!
Thank you for showing this!
So pretty!
Awesome just beautiful
Gina, Great idea for repurposing unused items. Love it! ;0)
Beautiful
Thank you for this great idea!
On another thing that I did long ago, was to use what was removed or stuck to the stamp. I placed a white glossy card stock on it and the eye shadow transferred to the paper. This way you get two cards with one eye shadow imprint.
I love this technique! I'm going to present this to my card club for a possible monthly challenge that we do.
Wow!
Amazing!
CONGRATS on the crafting hack of 2019!!! :o)
Loved the video thank you.
Great idea. Tfs.
Great technique! Thanks for sharing this one 🤗
God bless you Gina ❤ XOXO
Hi Gina...Awesome use of those bright colours...I'll be raiding my Daughters eyeshadow...🐨🤗😁😇
Nice backgrounds!
this is a great idea... I am going to have to try this :)
I have used eye shadow before but not this stamping technic... thank you for sharing...
How ingenious! Jeannine
Awesome 💡
Great idea! Thank you
Great ideas thanks for sharing.
Great technique! Those eye shadows looked kind of matte, I wonder how frosted would look. Fun stuff! TFS!
Before I had money to spend a lot on craft supplies I did use makeup a lot for card making. So this brought back lots of memories for me. Your backgrounds look awesome. I don't wear makeup anymore so guess I can't try it and I will not be purchasing any to just make a few cards as I have plenty of inks and still have chalk too.
Ooh ooh, versamark on an embossing folder, then foil the raised part with pre used foil to get a vintage look (or apply glue stick haphazardly with foil, press lightly and wait for it to dry for a similar result).
marvelous idea .... WOW..... Nonan
Hi Gina! I just watched this through the email. It is sooooo cool! I love the way they go on so smoothly. And it's so nice to find a use for Versamark without embossing, since my heat tool has wandered off into the ether. And thanks for not covering up the background when you made your card. :) Cheers! Try and stay warm.
Hi Gina...don’t know anything about that particular product, but eyeshadows often have mica particles. Very pretty cards!
How neat thank you for sharing 👧🏻
Gina thank you . Would be great for a fairy card.
I’ve been using old eye shadows for some time now to make mica sprays. I’m always afraid it will rub off so I use Tim Holtz Micro Glaze on top to make it waterproof. Works great!! Thanks for showing another use using background stamps but I will put Micro Glaze on top.
What an amazing technique ! ! ! ! The cards are very beautiful ! ! ! ! I can not wait to try it. I love your videos ! ! ! ! Josie G-P.
A fun inexpensive idea!
Tina I love your channel! Always get so many ideas. 😁. As I was watching you use large background stamps for smaller backgrounds I thought it might be cool to center the smaller backgrounds and then use leftover background with the remaing background to cover an entire sheet of cardstock. When you lift away the larger piece you'll have a background with a blank framed centre to heat emboss and use as another background. Just a thought
I once saw a similar technique with stamping with versamark first and then dusting it with eyeshadow. But yours is more beautiful.
Wow, very cool!! :)
Laminating after using the eyeshadow causes the color to POP and also seals it 😋
How wonderful! I have used eye shadow on my cards. Actually...I like it better than chalk. Your cards are so lovely Gina! Thanks for the tutorial! God bless!!!!!
Ver Blu does it smudge?
Those are all lovely! What a neat idea you had. With the Versa Mark, I'm assuming you didn't put any clear embossing powder on it. You just used the Versa Mark. I had a huge thing of eyeshadow, about 3 years ago and it was very bright colors, I would never use. I gave it away. How I wish I had kept it now! :-) Beth
Gina the cards are so beautiful. Will the shadows work as well on white cards?
