  • It's been a fun 4 months now driving this cart around. Every so often I've shot some clips. If there's something you want to see, a question you have, drop a comment. Don't forget to like and subscribe. It gives me internet points that I use to make future videos ;)
In the video, I show how it looks to slide this big boy in a garage, I'm doing some top speed time trials, stomping the brakes to see what happens, spinning circles in the back yard then measuring, I'm even driving in the rain and fording flooded sidewalks all so you can know what would happen if you needed to do that to avoid a zombie (or worse, a Karen). Will the cart get you to safety?

Maybe there's a way you can lower the rear of the roof by cutting/splicing 1" off the rear supports.
If you're into trigonometry, I found this on the internet. Don't know how accurate it is. Estimate the turn radius:
    1) measure the length of the wheel base (distance from front axle to rear axle). Mine is 8 ft.
    2) measure the angle that the front wheel makes between straight ahead and full turn to the left (or right). Mine is 30°
    3) get the tangent of the angle in step 2. Mine is . 577
    4) divide #1 by #3. I got 13.86
    5) add the width of the machine to #4. I got 18.86
It could be close depending upon how accurate the angle is measured. The specs on my ride says = 18 ft. turning radius. The turn radius is measured to the outermost sidewall of the outside wheel. I wonder how close this internet formula works for your machine or others who may want to try this.

I'll be honest, that was a fun video to shoot. All my neighbors I've talked to have the ez-go and club car types. The rear drums on those carts work well at low speeds, but at a certain point/speed, dragging the back tires is just not safe. The Bintelli's 4 disk hydraulic brakes really put a stop to the cart quick.
Now I just need to get the computer programmer to boost the top speed and change the power ramp up off the line. I wanna do doughnuts...

Not sure I’m tracking here. No criticism here but for me, I would know the garage clearance issue ahead of time and had a plan for canopy modifications to solve the issue. I have the exact same cart in black. Bought it about 2.5 months ago. I have the exact same scratches on the back of my roof. I was concerned at first but after using it daily since I purchased it I agree that it’s not an issue at all. Doesn’t sound pleasant but purely cosmetic and nobody can see it.
I have been thinking of raising or lowering my side mirrors. It’s a really bad blind spot and I’m constantly ducking my head outside the cart in corners. I think I saw another video where someone raised them and it looked pretty easy to do.
25 miles a day is crazy! I probably do that in a week but I don’t think my batteries have dropped below 40% yet when I go to charge them. My cart is holding it’s 25 - 26 mph top speed charging once a week. My salesman told me they recommend 80 charges under 40% to maintain the top speed. Conditioning the batteries I think he called it. At my rate it will take over a year to charge it that much so we’ll see.

I had a happy little problem not too long ago, my garage door opener tried to catch fire. As a result, I got a new opener with all the bells and whistles. It's adjusted now to where the garage door doesn't touch the top of the cart. You are correct though, most garage doors can be adjusted to pull them up just a little bit higher than the opening of the garage. For most people it'll be really close, but it shouldn't touch. If it does, crack out the old owners manual and figure out how to adjust it.

    • @oftenwrongparadigm
      @oftenwrongparadigm  Год назад

80-81 inches tall is pretty close to correct. If it rubs just a little and there's no way to adjust the opening, you could replace the bushings between the frame and roof. Those are an inch thick. A bad option is to reduce the tire pressure. That will need refilled or effect ride and wear.
I may look around at Lowe's to see what can easily replace those. They use a capped nut on the bolts and those will need cut short or replace the capped nuts.
I'll keep thinking about other options.

With lead acid batteries, I usually don't drive it anymore than 25 to 30 miles before stopping to charge. Depending on if you have lead acid or lithium batteries that will have a major impact on range. Other factors to consider would be how much weight is on the cart, the temperature outside, tire pressure, how fast you are going, and how frequently you're stopping as well as a few other small variables. I have not noticed little things like lights and sound system to have an impact on range.

I'm not sure I paid that much for it, probably caught it on sale and/or used a coupon. Mine is a 2022, very little has changed to the current model year that I've noticed. I went into the main showroom in Charleston about a month ago, just to check, out of curiosity. The main differences in the new carts, unique ignition key that also opens the glove box and now it comes with the pull straps for the back seat. I still like my pull straps better 😁 They also have more/better lithium battery options than when I purchased mine. But that kind of makes sense as more companies now make them.

Was the Manufacturer asleep at the wheel? How can they make golf carts that do not easily enter standard garage height entrances? • @oftenwrongparadigm

I think they wanted to make it as big as possible. My garage may be an inch shorter than others, I'm not sure what a standard height garage door is. My garage door opener could pull the door up a pinch more to relieve this. A slight modification can also be made to the cart. I've got another video in the works to correct this.
It does seem like it would be an easy fix from the manufacturer, just use an inch less material on the supports and windshield.

  • @PatriotsGunClub

LoL, just seeing this now, but "Turning Radius" is measured by the OUTSIDE tires - the entire space needed to do a U-turn ... and even though "Radius" is from the CENTER of a circle to the outside, the measurement is ACTUALLY the "Outside Diameter" of the space the tires need for a U-turn. So "Turning Radius" as listed for most all vehicles = "Outside Dimension, or Diameter, needed to do a circle or U-turn."
From Wikipedia: "On wheeled vehicles with the common type of front wheel steering (i.e. one, two or even four wheels at the front capable of steering), the vehicle's turning diameter measures the minimum space needed to turn the vehicle around while the steering is set to its maximum displacement from the central 'straight ahead' position - i.e. either extreme left or right. If a marker pen was placed on the point of the vehicle furthest from the center of the turn, the diameter of the circle traced during the turn defines the value of that vehicle's turning diameter. Mathematically, the turning radius would be half of the turning diameter."
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turning_radius
If it were me, I would definitely lower that rear of the roof so it won't scratch going in and out of the garage, just because.
    Great video though!!
