Only the stodgiest of stodgy "Metal Gear is serious somber not goofy at all" fans see Rising as somehow an illegitimate heir to the throne, and I say that's their loss. Revengeance has a unique flavor, for sure, but it's still recognizably Metal Gear scarcely a layer past its Platinum character action veneer.
Absolutely love that game and believe it or not you can actually stealth kill everybody in that game as well the bosses were a lot of fun the wolf was very unique best metal gear ever that you played as Rhydon hands down that being said it was Leaps and Bounds Beyond Metal Gear 3
Such an awesome looking kit! Really nice details and a great size as well, wish it was a bit more stable and could stand without that... stand, haha! Great showcase piece nonetheless!
The kits of some other reviewers could stand without the stand though. Guess its one of those things that may vary from person to person or kit to kit.
Yea I don't think that Todd wanted to pose it in the crouch mode, you have a better chance to get it stand with the back supports out and a little lower.
Aw. Little chibi-REX trembling his little chibi-arms on the turntable makes me want to give him a reassuring pet on the snout. EDIT: Are the people resin-cast figures, or...?
they do feel softer, not sure its resin...it feels like the figures that come with the nograde 1/144 wing gundam kits nowadays if you happen to be familliar with those.
I just finished putting mine together, I followed the instruction book, but I have heaps of left over parts including the rail gun ! Why isn't the rail gun included the instructions ? Can anyone help me ?
My friend, i tell you, i did the cammo job and the images in the book are 100% accurate to the size of the figure, but be aware, it is a masking pain!!
The NES Metal Gear games had NOTHING to do with the original Metal Gear which was on the Japanese PC. The sequel NES game is also not canon to Metal Gear as it was done by an American company and not Konami. The two versions of Rex you're referring to is the standard Rex (which gives you the mini figures of Liquid, Snake with the Javelin, and two Gray Fox, one demasked, and one being crushed by Rex's foot) and post Shadow Moses Island Incident Rex (aka from Metal Gear Solid 4), which doesn't give you the rail gun but you do get unique mini figures of Old Snake, Rex Mk III, and Raiden. Kotobukiya did the same thing with the ZOE Jehuty which the first release version of Jehuty, despite being base off of the first game, was actually base off of ZOEII Jehuty, but then they released Jehuty in a special version which was more akin to the original ZOE Jehuty.
This model kit has major issues when it comes to the ball joint when you connect the railgun. Mine snapped, and due to me living in the UK, I'm unable to use Kotobukiya's parts replacement service. It sucks. The kit is also waaay overpriced for what it is.
Do you know how far out the Bulkarm Beta will be delayed? It was supposed to be released in May/June but there's no sign of it dropping before September
Which Bulkarm Beta are you looking for? We have 2 types in stock right now: - www.hlj.com/1-24-scale-hexa-gear-bulkarm-beta-lumberjack-kbyhg-043 - www.hlj.com/1-24-scale-hexa-gear-bulkarm-beta-standard-type-kbyhg-046
Purchased this not realizing it was a model kit requiring assembly and painting. Needless to say im disappointed and dont know what to do with it now. Guess itll sit in storage until i decide to throw it away😄 Awesome review though👍
@@MichaelAW17 i figured given the price it wouldve been small. Oh well that what i get for not researching it further. Prob assemble it so i can blow it but with fireworks. Haha like i used to do to my legos
@@gmfb521 there's probably better uses for the kit than throwing it away or destroying it, but you do you. If it were me, I'd just sell it and make some money back.

I have this kit sitting in my closet and forgot all about it until I saw this review. Now I definitely have to build it.
Still to this day one of the greatest games ever made and one of the greatest franchises of all time
So I am trying to 3D model this rn and your video gets all the angles I was struggling to understand. You legend.
Reminds me how much I want a metal gear rising sequel, I know most people didn't like it, but for a spinoff I thought it was amazing
It was a brilliant game. Platinum Games did an incredible job bringing that game to life. I really want a sequel as well.

I felt sad when he didn't sound off Liquid snake, Solid snake and Gray Fox.
Such good memories. When I and my brother saw this thing in movement while playing the game we couldn't believe how awesome it was.
Wow, you kinda sound like Huey/Otacon. The perfect person to review this.
I Agree! for moments I felt it was Otacon explaining Rex!
Do you think he peed himself reviewing it?

I can't see REX without thinking of the Resourceful Rat boss fight from Enter the Gungeon. Anyway, brilliant Todd, thanks. ^^

I'm in love with REX
That kit seems like a really fun build

Might try to get one and paint it.
Yea would look good with some weathering

not realy a fan of the design but i can see this being the base for a custom mech T-Rex
Sigh...... Yeah, I still need to get me mine.
wonder if their gonna make blade wolf
Or better yet excelsus
1:00 SOLID chance? Pun unintended?
Todd's full of unintended puns haha
Hey look its Rexy
This guy doesn’t know any of the Metal Gear characters keeps referring them as “pilot figures”....disappointing :(
Todd's just reviewing the kit not the lore behind it.

These units remind me of cows for some reason.
Dude just review it. Or do a game history lesson. Pick one

Honestly it would cost more than the 80ish dollars you payed for it if it was painted and assembled. Probably 100s. 200 to 250 at least.
